I'm excited to read further. It seems like the right balm for these creepy times. The desert a place of long lasting days and uncertainty.

A novel dealing with death. The protagonist is an “exit guide” working with terminal patients. At another time, I might find more in this one, but during the Covid-19 pandemic, I found it unbearably depressing and did not finish.

After reading 60% of this book, I am stopping. First read was too depressing, all death and despair, but I picked it back up and read more. It was actually interesting to read about people being trained to help others cross over to the afterlife, but the main character was just a mess of misery and I finally stopped. There is enough depressing news around us now; this was not needed or wanted.
