This is a very informative book. She describes the basics of witchcraft along with elements and other correspondences. Chapter two provides a long list of Goddesses and ways to connect to Her. Deborah Blake is one of my favorite authors. I love her writing style and the way she shares information in an easy-to-understand manner. This book is excellent for beginners, but even advanced practitioners will find something of value.

One of my favorite new Pagan authors and I really enjoyed her insightful an entertain take of the subject of Paganism and modern witchcraft. She really made me think, and pay attention to how I have been living life lately. I even discovered some new things about myself and went searching for even more. Looking forward to the next book.

Should also be noted I stated researching the author and discovered her fantasy/fiction as well and am hooked on that so if she'd love to write more of that I can promise I’ll happy get others hooked too.

This book is good for sending you to your enlighten path. It is well thought out and is highly informative.

Modern Witchcraft is an excellent introduction to the divine feminine and neo-paganism as a spiritual path. If you have been practicing for a few years and you are more experienced in your chosen path this book may not be for you. It is definitely geared towards beginners and it does a great job explaining clearly and simply what witchcraft is without sounding preachy. I especially loved the chapter on feminine divine where the author lists many of the goddesses in a meet and greet. She has a short summary of who the goddess is and how you can connect with her using simple, from the heart rituals that are not complicated. Another chapter that stood out to me was Meditations, Affirmations and Rituals. I loved her approach to them. At the end of the book, the author includes many resources if you want to dig deeper into this path.

This is a great book for newbies and old pros alike. I really enjoyed this modern take on witchcraft.

I loved this book! It was a perfect read for the modern witch. I have always been interested in witchcraft and just being the kickass woman I have always been. This was the perfect read for me. It is definitely a book I keep going back to.

In Modern Witchcraft, Deborah Blake covers information about studying and practicing witchcraft in a practical manner, easy to understand and full of reference material for further study. This book is an interesting read, with plenty of supportive advice for the beginner. I appreciated the sections that covered the goddesses and their origins, and also liked the breakdown on the appropriate herbs, gemstones, and colors needed to amplify the intention of the rituals. I felt this was an informative book, and is one I will refer back to many times.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I found this book empowering. I used the affirmations and meditations when I need to bring that feeling back to me. I have been reading many books like this year. It is helping me find my center and reconnect with the magickal force that is inside of me. I know my path is not the same of others. That is what makes the understanding, study and practice of any magickal art unique to the people following said path.

This book is a beginner study in spirituality for a non-POC female audience. Sure, it explains the differences between religions and witchcraft, but it doesn't give any more understanding or insight into the why's or how's. There's plenty of other beginning books on the market that are inclusive.

I found this book intriguing both for the author's positive, woman-oriented style of witchcraft and for her detailed and relevant descriptions of goddesses from cultures around the world.

I picked up this book to learn more about what witchcraft actually is, and if it could meet the need I have to feel more empowered. The author does a great job of defining what witchcraft is and is not today. She outlines the differences between paganism, wicca, and witchcraft; and addresses major misconceptions about witches (no devil worship, animal sacrifice, or casting spells that take away others' free will). This book is a clear and practical guide for tapping into a spiritual source based around nature and goddess worship. My favorite chapter of the book lists positive affirmations that are helpful as part of a spiritual practice or on their own! I would recommend this book to readers of all genders who want to learn more about this empowering spiritual practice.

Deborah included steps to complete simple rituals, lessons on the Goddess and how to connect, as well as teaching about items to use in your alter and intentions.

Her books are a great toolbox of knowledge for anyone interested in the craft.

I really enjoyed this modern witchcraft book by Deborah Blake. It updated a lot of the traditional intro to witchcraft books out there and was very welcoming and easy to read.
I enjoyed the wide variety of information and it kept me interested the whole way through even though I have a lot of knowledge on the subject already.

Modern Witchcraft bridges the gap between the hipster witch books coming out these days and the classic wicca books of 90s/00s. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed this book, lots of great information for non-pagan or non-witches. Some very interesting information too which made for some great reading. I do recommend this book for anyone looking to gain spiritual insight to themselves and the world around us.
