I love a workplace-based mystery - I feel there aren’t enough of them around, given the amount of time that most of us spend there. Here, the plush new offices of Lymington-based advertising agency Morris & Wood have burnt down. But who is responsible, and why? And who, if anyone, was inside?

The story is told through police interview transcripts and from the point of view of three women: Laura, Mia and Janie.

Career-driven Laura has returned from maternity leave to find her temporary replacement, Mia, has been given her biggest client and appears to be after her job. Mia, meanwhile, has her own reasons for being there. Then there’s Janie, the boss’s wife

I did feel for Laura - though her priorities are a bit off, I know how hard it is to balance career and family life. To find on top of that that you’ve apparently been supplanted by a newcomer you yourself recruited, well, that can’t be easy.

A very good read, although my attention did start waning a little towards the end, and the actual solution of the mystery was rather unbelievable.

The book begins at the scene of a fire, a company’s business premises are going up in flames. One person dies in the fire another person escapes with serious injuries. Was it arson or something else. As the book unfolds it tells the story of three women, and their families, all three women have past secrets. The story travels between the past and present, before the fire and afterwards. As the police interview each of the three women, and employees of the company the women’s stories begin to emerge. Laura has been on 6 months maternity leave and has only just returned to work leaving her husband Nate looking after the baby, a stay at home house husband. Mia is the temp Laura interviewed as her replacement for maternity cover but Laura find out upon her return Mia has not only secured herself a permanent position but has usurped Laura. Laura does not trust her one iota and feels that Mia is hiding something so sets about to try and uncover her past, this quest soon turns into an obsession. Janie is the wife of the CEO, she has given up a high ranking career as a defence barrister in London uprooting her family to support her husband in his new venture in Lymington. Laura also has a troubled past. The book is not a “whodunnit “ in the usual sense of a murder book but is more a psychological thriller exploring multiple layers of the three main women all with real relatable problems, genuine or imaginary. The story progresses to its conclusion with lots of twists along the way., it’s a Lacey story. I read the book in three days and really enjoyed it, highly recommended. My thanks to NetGalley, Random House UK Cornerstone and Heidi Perks for this ARC, it’s a book you won’t want to miss reading.

This book started so well; quickly introduced the main players and set up the premise. I really enjoyed the storyline and it kept me guessing till the last quarter. Unfortunately that’s where it went wrong. Once the connection between the women was revealed the back plotting to explain was highly contrived. I can’t explain more about why the ending was totally ridiculous without spoilers, but it really made no sense or was logistically possible! Such a shame as it was well written and a really enjoyable read.

The story was compelling and entertaining to read.
However, I did not like the ending. The whodunit was quite unbelievable and that really put a damper on everything for me.

Thanks Netgalley, Publishers and of course the author. I have loved everything this author has written so far and this was one of those books that once you started reading you did not want to put it down. Loved the characters, storyline and everything really.

Three women accused of starting a fire at their office. They all have issues to be fair, but starting a fire seems a bit random. Still, it’s a good twisty read but the office setting is more of a police room setting as the stories come through via police interviews and statements. Who did start the fire and why? I did want to read to see who it was.

It was interesting to see things from Laura’s perspective and wanted to see more about how she felt about her ursurper. All three women had issues to be fair and this got complicated and messy for them. Even though the women are bad, I have to reserve the award for Harry who was the boss from hell.

I did enjoy learning about Lymington which was an usual setting for a novel. Fresh!

When a body is pulled out of an office fire, three women are first in line for questioning. All of them have reasons for wanting revenge against the company's Managing Director Harry Wood. It could be Laura, who has returned to work to find that her maternity cover isn't leaving. Harry insists he's doing what's best for the company. Laura isn't convinced he's telling the truth. Or there's Mia, brought in as temporary cover for Laura, she has quickly made herself indispensable and popular with her colleagues, but if people knew why she was so desperate to keep her job, they might not welcome her so freely. Then there's Janie, wife to Harry, who gave up her courtroom career to support her husband and his business. She has her own secret to protect and will go to any length to keep it safe. They never thought it would come to this.

This is one of those books that you start to read and right from the outset it becomes completely addictive

I must say I hadn’t worked out who was responsible as there were a number of possibilities. This was a real page turner and will keep you guessing until the end.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK Cornerstone Century for an advance copy in return for a fair and honest review.

We know instantly what we are dealing with in Three Perfect Liars. There's been a fire at a controversial office building with three potential culprits. And the story follows these three women in the lead up to the fire, alternating with police interviews. I was interested to read a story which delved into the life of a new mum returning to work after maternity leave and her fury to find she's been 'replaced' as I feel this isn't something that I've read much about considering it's a very real situation many women deal with. But this was merely one thread running throughout the story, intertwined with many others. No, the book isn't what I would call 'fast-paced' or a thriller, but it's still an entertaining read which raises a lot of questions and makes some interesting points. I actually felt all three characters were fairly well developed although in my opinion Mia didn't make a huge amount of sense to me in the end. There were a lot of coincidences which prevented this from feeling realistic and I felt the ending was a bit 'meh' but it's an easy, well-written read that is still worth picking up.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. My only negative comment was this is the third book with similar issues i have read in the past couple of months. Office drama, lies, people stealing jobs etc. I just hope it's not going to be the next overdone plot. I also had a hard time figuring out how Janie fit in, but then when the big reveal came, i was shocked. The overall plot was good and I didn't see a lot of the events coming.

I enjoyed Three Perfect Liars. It was compelling and addictive, drawing you in and keeping you guessing. There were some strong characters, explored in detail, each with their own secrets and plenty of twists and turns along the way. I would rate this book 3.5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Random House and the author for the chance to review.

Couldn't put this one down- just one more chapter became something if a mantra!
Laura, back from maternity leave and dreading both leaving her baby and also her return to the cutthroat world of advertising finds that her temporary maternity cover has her feet well and truly under the table and has taken over all the most important parts of Laura's job.
Mia, the not so temporary temp has ingratiated herself with everyone and seems to be something of a stirrer when it comes to workplace gossip and conflict but has a troubled home life.
Janie is the wife of the CEO, once a successful barrister but seen now as only a party host and wife.
The book centres around a devastating fire at the company offices and the investigation into the cause and then the search for the arsonist. Much of the story is told in the form of police interviews with each of the main characters along with some of the other workplace people. The remainder covers the viewpoints of the 3 women and details some of their pasts along with their complex feelings about the company, the boss and each other.
All the way through it is impossible to work out who is lying and what exactly is going on and you find yourself unable to trust anyone!
The truth is only really revealed at the very end of the book, where loose ends tie up beautifully and we finally find out not only who the liar is but also what the lies were.

Five years ago Harry Wood built a modern office building overlooking Lymington Quay which causes considerable controversy with protesters describing it as an eyesore. In the present day a fire is raging in the building. Is anyone trapped inside? What causes the fire? Is it arson? If so, who is responsible? The police spotlight falls on three women who have issues with each other. The first is Janie Wood, wife of Harry, a formerly successful defence barrister in London. The second is Laura Denning who works for Harry’s advertising and marketing firm, recently returned from maternity leave to find a cuckoo at her desk - the third suspect Mia Anderson who has turned her temporary job into a permanent one to Laura’s fury. The story is told from the perspective of these three interspersed with interviews by DC Emily Marlow and the staff of Morris and Wood.

One of the things I find most interesting is how the author explores Laura’s perspective and the unfairness of her position. Laura is understandably furious at her usurper but her problems are also those of many working parents - how to balance a career with being a good mother. Janie resents Harry for a number of reasons which is also partly to do with career and she also carries guilt from a defence case which turns out to be pivotal to this story. Mia has a multitude of issues and you don’t find out what she’s up to until nearly the end of the book. Harry is probably the worst CEO imaginable as he bends to the wind and ends up pleasing no one. The Lymington area is lovely and makes an excellent backdrop to this story.

There are many positives about this book and I did enjoy it, however, it flits backwards and forwards in time randomly which interrupts flow. The story builds to a staff party at Harry’s house three days before the fire and I think the events there are a bit of a letdown as I expected something more explosive and I think the end is a bit underwhelming too. That being said, despite my reservations it is a good read with interesting characters and some thought provoking issues.

Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin for the ARC.

Heidi Perks is a great writer and this book is another example of her gift and if you like whodunit thrillers then this is a must.
As the book description will tell you this is the story of a business building going up in flames one body has been removed from the building and three ladies all with hidden secrets have questions to answer, or do they??? Each one you will probably have a love hate relationship with, I did anyway. The story takes you back before the fire and the end of many chapters is the record of a Police interview with either one of the three ladies or various other people connected to the business or friends of the ladies. I could say the characters are genuine and feel real but I've discovered in life real life is often even weirder than fiction so these characters seem quite normal, with their own struggles Laura has just gone back after 6-months maternity leave having to leave her baby with her husband Nate, so life is hard enough as it is but then there's the first day back and Mia. Janie the wife of the heart throb CEO (boss) Harry had given up her career as a barrister in London up sticks and moved to Lymington to support Harry's new venture.
I really enjoyed this book and would give it 5+ stars but as 5 is the max that's all I can give, I was hooked and genuinely loved every page each chapter holds a twist or clue some have both, it's easy to follow unlike some books with multiple view points from the various characters adding so this adds to the pleasure Instead of confusing you. So yes I highly recommend this and another fantastic novel from Heidi Perks

If you’re going to write a book about office drama it might be a good idea to actually include some office drama.

Three Perfects Liars is terrible. I’m actually shocked it’s being published. I stopped reading at 90% once I knew who was responsible for the fire.

Don’t waste your time with this story. You’ll end up bored to death.

This is one of those books that you start to read and right from the outset it becomes completely addictive. Three women, Laura, Mia and Janie all with secrets and plenty of reasons for revenge but which one had the most reasons and to what lengths would they go.
The story is full of intrigue and all the characters were so well written and although not always likeable I feel that really added to the compulsive nature of the book.
Lots of twists and a real page turner I loved the book and the fact it kept me guessing till the end made it even more appealing and the excellent writing style was wonderful. I can’t say more as it would spoil it, it really is a book to just pick up and read it’s fabulous and Heidi Perks has another hit here I’m sure.
My thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone, Century for giving me the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

What a fantastic read, just my cup of tea I absolutely loved it and couldn't stop reading then I was annoyed with myself for reading it so quickly.

This book was so well written with good descriptive characters, a brilliantly addictive page turner which I can thoroughly recommend. I will be recommending this to my many Facebook Book Groups.

Thank you to Netgalley and Random House UK (Century) Publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this fantastic book.

It was a shocking read.
It was my first book by the author and i must say that I'm completely in by the writing style. Three women, Laura, Mia and Jenny are suspects and are in line if questioning when their company's CEO body is pulled out in a office fire. Who is responsible? I don't want to reveal much about the story. Go and give this wonderful book a read. All three women were awesome in their roles. I loved Mia especially. I personally felt that her character was twisty.
Thanks to NetGalley and Cornerstone for giving me an advance copy of this book.
