I am such a fan of the Hallmark channel, so it is no surprise that I am also a fan of A Simple Wedding! This was the perfect, feel-good, take me out of my own reality book that I needed after a trying week.

In this first book of a new series, you are introduced to Heart’s Landing, a charming small town where many brides go to get married. Jenny, our main character, has dreamed of having a Hearts Landing wedding since she was little. But when she finally visits the charming small town, she’s there to make wedding arrangements for someone else: her cousin, who also happens to be her boss and a famous movie star. To keep the event secret and avoid a media circus, Jenny pretends she’s the one getting married. Enter handsome baker Nick who is captivated by Jenny, but has to keep telling himself that Jenny is already spoken for.

This one kept me on my toes as the romantic tension heated up between Nick and Jenny throughout the book. I can’t wait for the rest of the series to be published!

If you're a fan of Hallmark Channel movies there's a good chance you're going to love A Simple Wedding. Leigh Duncan brings the small, wedding destination town of Heart's Landing to life with vivid descriptions and fills the wedding-related businesses with likable people readers will want to know better. The story flows smoothly, like a gentle summer's ride down a lazy river, with occasional bumps but a sweet landing at the end.

Jenny is an engaging character and I easily became invested in her, happily nudging her along the path of friendship with Nick and hoping for more. Nick is such a good guy...and he bakes! I fell for him right along with Jenny. Duncan does a good job of strengthening their friendship, and deepening their emotions, without crossing any relationship boundaries. Remember, Jenny is pretending to be engaged to someone else and planning her own wedding. I also appreciated the decisions made near the end of the story, giving Jenny and Nick the necessary time to strengthen their feelings without secrets between them. Kudos to Duncan for taking the time to grow and solidify this relationship after all is revealed.

If you're looking for a sweet, fun, feel-good romance filled with likable main characters, plenty of colorful secondary characters, and one high-maintenance cousin, I suggest giving A Simple Wedding a try. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Heart's Landing.

I really liked Leigh Duncan's book that is related to the Hallmark movie. I liked how country star, Bradley Suttons returned to Mill Town to finally let go of his painful past. His parents died when he was thirteen and he moved immediately to Nashville after marrying his best friend and neighbor, Sarah. He is now back years later to find closure and sell the house before he marries Catherine, an actress.

The chemistry between Sarah and Bradley makes you want to continue reading to find out what will happen between them or if he will still marry Catherine. I especially liked the epilogue. It was also nice to know you can return home and what is more romantic than knowing you had met and married your true love at age thirteen. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

A Simple Wedding, by Leigh Duncan, is available at booksellers on 3-10-20. Simple Wedding is book 1 in Ms Duncan's new Heart's Landing series. Hallmark Publishing has been putting out some good reading material and Simple Wedding is no exception. Only my second taste of Ms Duncan's writing style, I'm hooked. A Country Wedding is one of my favorite books and Simple Wedding is now added to the list. I like the characters, I became engaged in their story line. I felt sorry for them when things were down and celebrated when it all worked out. I'd like to live in Heart's Landing, please. Never thought much about Rhode Island but the descriptions of the scenery make me want to go explore. I love this fictional town and hope Hallmark is smart and commissions the entire series as movies...please.

Nick Bell & Jenny Longley are prefect for each other. He bakes and she loves his cupcakes. The instant attraction is almost a character itself. Knowing it was not to be, forbidden, was tough. Nick is determined to be a good guy, and he really is. Jenny is devoted to family and gives up hope of a relationship with Nick for love of her cousin. Two really lovely characters doing the best they can under trying circumstances. I'm looking forward to the next installment in the series, A Cottage Wedding, available in June 2020.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Happy reading.

Such a cute feel good romance story. Jenny is sent undercover to Hearts Landing for her famous cousin to pretend to be a bride getting married. Jenny instantly makes a connection with Nick, the local baker.

With her big secret needing to be kept, the simple wedding plans escalate and Nick is there to comfort Jenny. He is trying to be a good friend but he is falling for her, and Jenny is falling for him.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.

A Simple Wedding is the perfect book for any fan of the Hallmark romance movies. Take a perfect wedding location… add in a “fake” bride who is doing a favor for her cousin…throw in a handsome wedding cake baker… mix altogether for a simple wedding. Or is it really a simple wedding???

Jenny arrives in Hearts Landing pretending to plan a wedding for herself. Her cousin is a well-known movie star who has enlisted her help in putting together what starts out as a small intimate affair. Jenny has always wanted to be married in this town that is known as a perfect wedding location and she struggles to choose what her cousin wants and not what she would want for herself.

Nick owns the town bakery and is intrigued by Jenny… he senses something is not quite right in the choices that she is making. And on top of that he finds himself falling for her even though she is “engaged.”

The simple small wedding begins to take on a life of its own and Jenny has to keep changing plans and colors and locations etc. etc. No spoilers here… you will have to read for yourself what happens when the truth is revealed.

This book was an enjoyable read… sweet romance just perfect for this Hallmark movie fan.

A Simple Wedding by Leigh Duncan is a sweet, heartfelt, feel-good, romance that is the beginning of a new series. It is everything a “Hallmark Romance” should be. Heart’s Landing is an adorable community and I really think it could be a great setting for many novels to come. When the residents of Hearts Landing get wind of a "True Hearts Landing Bride" in their midst, they are all eager to help her plan her perfect wedding. The only problem, the bride is a fake! I could truly empathize with the Jenny, who is planning her famous actress cousin's wedding and in her role as her personal assistant. Changes frustrate her as do all the vendors, including the local baker, Nick, who becomes her friend and sounding board. As time passes and her feelings for Nick grow, it becomes increasingly hard to keep the bride's true identity a secret. Jenny and Nick had great chemistry were able to handle the curveballs thrown their way on their path to finding each other. I enjoyed the story of Jenny and Nick; loving how Jenny grew throughout the book and stood her ground when it was needed. I enjoyed getting to know the characters in the shops. The town of Hearts Landing sounds so sweet, with streets and businesses with wedding themed names; making it is the perfect town for a dream wedding.

Ms. Duncan wrote a sweet, heartfelt, feel-good, romance that should not be missed. This tale abounds with emotions, sexual chemistry, humor, wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters giving Daphne and Jonah a chance at love, a family, and forever. I highly recommend A Simple Wedding to other readers and I will be looking forward to reading more books by this author.

I love me a Hallmark movie, actually Hallmark anything including most of their ads.
A sweet tale worthy of the Hallmark brand. Like most Hallmark movies it's a little bit cheesy but in a good way. The interactions of the characters and how they play off each other is just delightful.
I LOVE the descriptions in this book. I felt right there in the town, at the events, in the stores, in the bakery. I truly was part of the experience without feeling overwhelmed or bombarded. Just the right touch.
This was a tricky storyline because Jenny is supposed to be engaged but I love how it was handled. I loved seeing the couple grow closer and fall in love without crossing any lines or being inappropriate. Seeing the struggle as they navigated the whole thing allowed me to cheer for them. A truly delightful book.

4 1/2 STARS!

Sweet, romantic and delightful! With the first book in her new Heart's Landing series, Leigh Duncan spins a romantic tale of falling for someone when you least expect it in A SIMPLE WEDDING.

Jennifer Langley is a really easy to like character. She's sweet, she's kind, she has a whimsical heart. I really felt for her and the position her cousin was putting her in.

Nick Bell is small town romance gold. He is masculine yet gentle, well liked by the community yet unassuming and by some twist of fate hasn't found his happily ever after yet. Until now!

I highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a sweet romance in a close-knit small town. There's a bit of a subterfuge going on though out, but it doesn't hinder the development of the characters. I'm looking forward to visiting Heart's Landing time and again!

A Simple Wedding is a sweet contemporary romance written in typical Hallmark style. It is a "feel good" book with characters you can't help but love... and one character you want to strangle. I'm really, really, really hoping that Hallmark chooses to turn this one into a movie. Although I must say that Leigh Duncan wrote this in such a way that I could visualize the beautiful little town of Heart's Landing in my head like a movie was already playing in there.

The romance that developes between Jenny and Nick is that kind of tingly, sweet, heart-throbbing magnetism that brings them together and the reader just cannot wait for them to acknowledge it! I loved everything about this book. As I sit here writing this review, I'm still smiling... and thinking how I would love to visit this small town of Heart's Landing.

Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Jenny has always dreamed of getting married at America's most sought-after wedding destination, Heart's Landing. But when she finally visits the lovely little town, she's there to make wedding plans for her cousin, who happens to be a famous movie star. To keep the event a secret from the media, Jenny has to pretend to be the bride. Unfortunately for Jenny, planning the wedding turns out to be much more complicated than she thought.

A Simple Wedding by Leigh Duncan is a delightful and heartwarming romance that Hallmark fans are sure to enjoy. Readers will fall in love with Jenny's character and empathize with her as she goes above and beyond for her bridezilla cousin Kay. I didn't care for Kay's character, however, the ending made me warm to her a little bit. Nick and Jenny shared a lot of the same qualities, and I thought they had great chemistry. I look forward to the second book and can't wait to spend more time in Heart's Landing with all these wonderful characters. If you enjoy sweet, feel-good stories, then you really can't go wrong with books or movies from Hallmark. As an added treat, a delicious recipe is included at the end of the book.

I received an ARC from Hallmark Publishing through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Leigh Duncan is a National Reader’s Choice Award winner and has written over two dozen novels. This book is the first book in the Heart’s Landing Series by Hallmark Publishing. This book did not disappoint in anyway! Not all of the Hallmark books turn to movies or vice versa. I am desperately hoping that this one makes it to the big screen! This book is complete with a Lemon Bar Recipe at the end and a sneak peak of the next book in the series, A Cottage Wedding, also by Leigh Duncan.
We begin this book with Nick Bell delivering a four-tiered pink cake to Captain’s Cottage. This “Cottage” is really a mansion on the coast of Rhode Island, just south of Newport. This house was made famous by a granddaughter marrying into the Rockefeller clan at this house. Nick had inherited I Do Cakes from his father and took pride in his cakes! He even guarded the cake from the moment of delivery to the time that every guest had received a piece, after a young ring bearer helped himself to a handful of frosting.
Jennifer Longley and Karolyn Karter (also known by Kay) are cousins, currently living in Beverly Hills. Jennifer’s cousin and Aunt took her in when her mother died. Kay is a Hollywood superstar. Jennifer has taken pride in helping her cousin get where she is on her career by fully supporting her in every way. Kay met the love of her life on the set of her current blockbuster movie, Two Hearts on the Run and it was love at first sight. Kay then tasks Jennifer with the daunting task of planning her wedding, anonymously. Jennifer must pose as the bride and plan the wedding, as if it were hers to avoid any paparazzi. Kay has chosen Heart’s Landing as her destination for her wedding. This would have been perfect, except this is where Jenny has always wanted her wedding. Jenny reluctantly sets off to Rhode Island to plan Kay’s wedding. Jenny not only has to plan the wedding but take the brunt of the hits when Kay unexpectedly changes her mind during the plans. We are taken on the adventure of planning a wedding from afar. There are many mishaps along the way and we are not disappointed with the ending! I cannot wait to read the second book in this series!

I received this from Net Galley to preview and this is my own opinion. The setting of this story, Heart's Landing, makes me wish it was a real place. It sounds really nice. I liked Jenny alot, wasn't real crazy about Kay. This was a fun read and I enjoyed it

Hallmark Publishing has published a nice novel "A Simple Wedding" by Leigh Duncan. Karolyn (Kay) and Chad are a famous celebrity couple recently engaged and in order to keep their wedding a secret from the paparazzi, they contrived a plan which involves Jenny, Kay's cousin to plan her wedding and pretend to be her.

Jenny has always dreamed having her own wedding at America's most sought-after wedding destination, Heart's Landing. Jenny was taken in by her Aunt, Kay's Mom, when her parents accidentally died. She feels a debt of gratitude towards them, and doing this for Kay, is the least that she can do.

Jenny never imagined things would get so complicated pretending to be the bride, and organizing everything.

An enjoyable read, this novel will make you cry, laugh, cheer just like you would expect from a Hallmark romantic story.

Cute, Cute, Cute. This is a sweet romance. Jenny is the personal assistant to a powerful celebrity who happens to be her cousin. When Kay decides to marry, Jenny must plan the wedding. It starts simple but Kay keeps changing her mind. Jenny becomes more stressed as she comes to view all the vendors of Heart's Landing as friends. She has to keep the actual bride and groom a secret. So she pretends to be the bride.

This is a sweet, clean romance. I loved the people in Heart's Landing. I did think Jenny should have come clean sooner. I think the vendors would have kept the secret. But then, there would be no story. The people in Heart's Landing are nice and Nick sounds especially kind and lovable.

A sweet and romantic love story! Jenny and Nick meet very unconventionally and the attraction is fast but everything isn’t as it seems and the secrets might tear them apart in the end!

I absolutely loved this sweet little small town and all the quirky habitants! It’s the start of some amazing sweet love stories and can’t wait to see who comes next!

This first book in a new Hallmark series was a delight to read. Kudos to the author for making this wedding destination town of Heart's Landing come alive in her descriptions.

You empathize with the heroine who is planning her cousin's wedding (a famous actress), in her role as her personal assistant. Changes frustrate her and all the vendors, including the local baker who gets to be her friend and sounding board. But as time passes and her feelings for Nick grow, it becomes increasingly hard to keep the bride's true identity a secret. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

What a fun book centered around a cousin planning a wedding for her celebrity cousin! Full of small town characters, wedding planning vendors, & sweet romance, this book will keep a smile on your face. Quick read but not pure fluff. Very enjoyable & difficult to put down!
