Cassandra Clare always leaves me wanting more... needing more of her stories and her incredible ability to describe love. The Shadowhunter world is huge and all the stories and the characters are connected and this just made me want to pick up City of bones and start the series all over again! I have been waiting for this book for so long that I was afraid it would have disappointed me, but the atmosphere is exactly the one we had in the infernal devices and the characters are absolutely awesome! Of course every time Will Herondale made an appearance my heart skipped a beat and I honestly would have liked to have him in every page, but I really loved his children and I adore the very cute and caring father he has become. James and Lucy have both angelic and demonic blood and so they powers no one has ever seen. Cordelia Carstairs is one of my new favorite badass heroines, she is fierce and proud but also ready to do everything for the people she loves. As usual Clare makes very clear how the lack or the loss of love can destroy you and makes you do terrible things (just consider Tatiana), but she introduces thoughts about real sicknesses too, in particular alcoholism. Indeed Matthew drinks a lot, just not to think about what he has done to his family. Honestly I thought he would have faced it but I guess I need to wait for the next books. Just to be clear, the best character of this book is Anna Lightwood and I think I am desperately in love with her. She is such a strong character who lives the life she wants without fear in a time when appearance is everything. I really wish I had her strength and her self-confidence. Alastair is another rare treasure, I really think he is on the road to redemption and I can’t wait for him to find the real love (and of course I already have a ship for him 🙈). oh and for goodness sake, please, just say to Charles to SHUT UP, I really couldn’t suffer him anymore 😂.

The excerpt of this book is delightful except for the fact that I didn’t want it to end. It continues the Shadowhunter’s story from the previous trilogy. The story is remarkable in that you don’t need to read the last trilogy to enjoy the storyline. I can’t wait to get the book!

Can't lie. I loved the sneak peak of the excerpt but I kinda regret it because I didn't purchased it before the released date and now I can't wait to keep diving into the story. I can't give a extensive review but for what I've, read, I found it to be very addictive.

I couldn't be more excited to pick up this book. The Shadowhunter Chronicles are written so beautifully and you quickly become tied to every character- with all your heart.

Sounds pretty good so far.... I’m definitely interested in reading the book in it’s entirety. I’m a huge fan of Cassandra Clares and I have enjoyed the immortal instruments series. I look forward to finishing this book.

Cassandra Clare did it again. with just the excerpt it's clearly that this book is going to be as epic as the other one. Every page filled my heart with emotion and excitement, I can't wait to read the entire story of the next generation of shadowhunters.

I’m so excited to be back in the world of the Shadowhunters and so excited to read the rest of Chain of Gold!! I already love the characters so much!!

I could not read the book since it would not go on my Kindle but the computer. I need to be more comfortable when I read. I only got through the first pages and then I said forget it.

I could not put this excerpt down! I am thankful that my preorder came in the mail today!!!

These chapters were a very good introduction to (some of) the characters we will follow - and fall in love with - in this trilogy. Brilliant!

Gahhh!! I need more. I seriously can't wait for the entire book to release now. Chain of Gold is going to be one of my new favorite reads of 2020 just based on the excerpt alone!

WOW!!! I am smitten with little Lucie running through the woods. Curious as to who the man was she encountered helping to find her way back home.. That is what caught my attention. Then, to present day, her brother is cornered by a demon and left to his own devises, impatiently waiting for his cohorts to arrive.. They have become lax, the shadowhunters. So impressed, I bought the book. I cannot wait to devour its' contents.
Will be donated to my local library when I am finished.

STUNING. I can't believe that in just 35 pages I was able to recognize that Cassandra Clare's writing have become so much better than what it was.
Also, I am so into those characters already. A real group of friends being so lovely and natural. Can't wait to read the rest.
