This is another great story from Lori Foster. This is about two sisters who are set on making their lives what they want. They have both had heartache that had shaped who they are. They inherited a farm from their grandparents when they passed. Autumn is a designer and Ember is a builder. As a side job they collect any animals that are needing a good home and bring them to live on the farm. They both find love where they least expect it but they are matches meant to be. This is a wonderful story to read this summer!

Autumn is a true gem, that doesn’t see that she is beautiful at just being herself. I enjoyed Autumn so much, so see her come into her own and know she is worth having her own HEA. Tash is a newly single dad too Sadie, after her moms death Tash makes Sadie all he thinks about that was until a flash from his past turns his head.
Autumn thinks she fly’s under everyone’s radar, but she will soon find out how wrong she is when Tash shows her that he truly sees her.

Ember is the uncensored sister that is true , but this woman’s heart and feelings run deep. In helping her sister, Umber finds something she didn’t think was possible. Her own HEA. Mike is a family friend who works on the Somerset family’s farm, who also has his own secrets.
I enjoyed the banter between Ember and Mike. Their antics had me laughing. Ember struggling with who she is when she is with Mike.

You will love each couple and love their family’s bond. Both girls are quite brilliant in their chosen professions. The Somerset Girls is a perfect rainy day read. It is effortless and sweet and will completely fill your heart so much. Somerset Girls by Lori Foster is two Romances in one, because you know what is better then ice cream. *giggles* Lori Foster seems to be shifting slightly from straight romance, towards more of a women’s fiction romance feel, in which case they are both my favorite genre’s so I get too enjoy her so much more.

Rated 4 Stilettos by Deb!

Truly a Heartwarming story

Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2020
I enjoyed this book from the first page to the last page!
The Somerset Girls is a warm-hearted story about two sisters, Autumn and Ember and their story rings true of all sisters. Family will always be there for you during the best and worst moments of your life. The girls each have their own careers with Autumn an interior designer and Ember a carpenter they inherit a farm from the late grandparents which they decide to start an animal rescue for abused and abandoned animals. They also build a house on the farm for their parents. They each are searching for their own happily ever after and it is a great joy to follow each girl's journey. My favorite character is Sadie, she is a sweet loving girl with a heart to big for her little chest, her way with all the animals is so endearing. If you enjoy a good uplifting story this is the one for you.
I received this ARC from Net galley, and this is my honest review

Autumn and Ember Somerset are sisters and co-business owners in small town Sunset, Kentucky. Between their building and design company and their rescue farm, the two are busy, busy enough that relationships have taken a backseat. While Autumn is still nursing a heartbreak, Ember is dealing with dark struggles of her own. The two sisters each find a new chance for love this summer- will they take it?

Sweet and a little predictable, “The Somerset Girls” by Lori Foster was everything I wanted it to be. Autumn and Ember are complete opposites, but both struggling with love. While the two bicker and fight, there’s no one who knows the other quite as well. I think seeing the two sisters being brave for the other is really the heartbeat of this book.

The romance in this book was handled really well. It was sweet and swoony without being cringey or awkward and I enjoyed it a lot. Autumn’s old high school crush is the kind of guy you can’t help but cheer for and Ember’s fling turns into someone more deep than I would have guessed.

Overall, if you’re looking for a summer romance, this is it! I gave the book 4 stars and can’t wait to see what else Foster has written!

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

A set of sisters are running an animal rescue farm while also both holding down full time jobs - Autumn and Ember. While sharing a home and with their aging parents on the same land in their own home, they each have a lot on their plates. The sisters are complete opposites when it comes to personality and their parents have driven that home their whole lives, so they feel stuck in the shoes they are supposed to fill and that spills into other areas of their lives.

The thing I enjoyed most about this book was that one of the romances was one of those rekindle romance where the couple is reuniting after years apart and they have some history, so it makes it feel less like instalove. That happiness feeling bled into the other relationship that while there wasn't as much history, didn't feel too quick to get hot and heavy.

There were definitely some sexy times in this one, but maybe its me, but they didn't feel too over the top or ill timed. It was a little more open door than I typically like, but not as explicit as I have read before.

I haven't read very many by Lori Foster and still want to continue to try her out and see if I can find a series that I fall in love with. She is a romance author that I don't want to count out just yet!

I'm not gonna lie - I really enjoy these sort of two-for-one romances that I've read from Lori Foster lately. And while I enjoyed the Summer Resort duology, I think that The Somerset Girls is my fave of the past 3 books from her I've read. I love a good single parent romance and this one delivers in spades. I also loved the resilience of all of the characters - but especially the sisters. Their's is my favorite relationship; as the mother of sisters, I often see the love, loyalty, and contentiousness that is the core of most sisterly relationships and those layers were beautifully and realistically portrayed between Autumn and Ember. I also liked the details about how their relationship with their mother played a part in not only how they felt about themselves, but also on how they interacted with each other and the world. I'm super excited for Lori Foster's upcoming release, The Summer of No Attachments. I'm hoping it's set in the same small town and that it serves the same heart and soul that I got in The Somerset Girls. 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

This book has a little of everything. Past hurts, insecurity, lots of laughter, slow building relationships, and quirky families! The connection, love and interactions between sisters Ember and Autumn was so authentic and believable. You have an adorable little girl who will both break and steal your heart throughout the entire book. And who could ever resist the rescue farm and all the animals, especially Pavlov. There is wonderful chemistry leading to lots of funny and emotional moments between the main couples.
I received an advanced copy of this book, but all comments are my own.

I loved Autumn and Ember. The sisters had such a strong bond and understood each other even from across the room. Having her high school crush move back to town threw Autumn a curve ball. Not only was he still gorgeous, but he could read her almost as well as her sister which was unsettling at first. They had to learn to open up to each other and what they both wanted. Meanwhile, Ember had troubles of her own with their head ranch hand, Mike. As they all learn to navigate falling in love and living life, the past creeps in. Read along as the Somerset sisters find out if love can overcome pain from past secrets.

What a fun book ! The story of 2 totally different sisters, and their family dynamics made you not want to put it down. thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC copy.

Lori Foster has written about 2 sisters who couldn't be more different! They are polar opposites, like me and my own sister! They were totally relatable in that fact. They both learn to love, and the story will draw you in! Autumn and Tash. And his little girl Sadie. Then Ember and Mike. There was a lot going on, but it was easy to keep up with and stay in the story. You'll laugh, you'll cry. You won't want to put the book down until the end.
Personally, I prefer books with one romance going on, not two or more couples. But this was a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

Sorry for the late feedback! I did not end up finishing this book. I felt like the structure that it downloaded in made it difficult to read. I could not get engaged because of this. I know sometimes the books have to download this way for ARCs but it was hard for me to read and thus I didn’t finish the book. I do appreciate the chance to read and am planning on reading it soon!

I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my voluntary and honest review.

Lori Foster I believe this is your best book to date. I loved this book. I love the sisters and their relationship. I love the setting being on the farm. This story was so great everyone should read it.
It is light and it easy reading. In this time of a virus and being on lockdown for two months this is the perfect book to take you to another place of joy and happiness.
Thank you for such a great story.

This was such a delightful read! I love animal romances and this one didn't disappoint.
Autumn and Ember are two sisters who live together with their parents on a farm where they rescue animals. All their lives they've been described and pigeonholed in a certain way and it has become habit to follow that description.
Obviously the return of Autumn's high school crush changes everything and both women are forced to reassess their beliefs.
I enjoyed Autumn and Tash's romance, I especially loved the ice cream part;). Tash's daughter Sadie was a cute addition. Her relationship with both her father and Autumn was lovely to watch unfold. At times Autumn seemed a little too perfect for me, but I enjoyed the story enough to overlook that. The body positivity part of the story irked me a bit. Once again Autumn was "curvy" aka a size 16 (maybe 18) and struggled with that most of her life. It didn't feel fully formed or properly addressed throughout the story.
As all of Foster's trade paperback romances the story had a second couple: Ember and Mike. They romance was cute to read, but neither character was fully developed and Ember's grief seemed to magically disappear.
Despite those parts I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a contemporary romance with a heavy family theme.

The Somerset Girls is a great story with awesome characters and it has a wonderful family dynamic mixed into the plot. I really loved reading this one as you get two love stories in one terrific book.

Lori Foster has a talent for creating dynamic characters that draw you in to their world and keep you entranced until the end. Her books are perfect escapes from the everyday grind. If you have never read a Lori Foster book then you are truly missing out. All of her books even the ones in series can be read as stand-alone novels.
Somerset Girls is a quick read. Once you start you don’t want to stop until the end. Like most sisters Autumn and Ember are polar opposites in many ways but on the same page when it counts. They run an animal rescue that was left to them by their grandparents. They are part of a close knit and loving family. Ember is more of a good time girl that would rather party it up when not working to escape from her past relationship. Autumn would rather stay home and vegetate instead of going out. She is still not over the one that got away. Mike and Tash enter and they are the perfect match for these two sisters and what starts out as just temporary moves into forever.

Autumn and Ember Somerset run a farm animal rescue, in addition to their full time design and building businesses. They don't always see eye to eye, but they always have each other's backs. They both have issues that have caused them to either swear off men altogether (Amber) or to feel that they have to overact in order to be happy (Ember). There are many, many relationships in the story, between the sisters, between them and their parents, between old flame Tash and Autumn, between Ember and their 'hired' man Mike. Put these all together, add the collection of animals and a 7-year-old who'd had a rough time with her parents' divorce, and you'll laugh and cry and cheer -- all at once!

Such a wonderful heartfelt story by Lori Foster!! Sisters, Autumn and Ember Somerset run a rescue farm on top of their full time jobs. They don’t always see eye to eye but they always have each other’s backs, they both also have something painful in their past that each of them has to work through to find their HEA. Autumn is a designer and has sworn off men until her sister strong arms her into an appointment with her high school crush who has moved back to town for a fresh start with his adorable daughter. Autumn and Tash work together to build a new bedroom and play area for Sadie while learning things with Sadie’s mom weren’t what Tash thought they were. Ember is a builder who has always been labeled as a free spirit by her mom, except she’s not as free as she appears to be. She has a painful memory that she has to work through in order to get what she wants, a family. Mike is their number one guy, their helper on the farm and one good looking man. He also seems to be a player and doesn’t take life too seriously. Their attraction is mutual but Ember is looking for more then just lust. I really enjoyed this book, the interaction between Autumn and Ember was real and how embarrassed they both are by their parents sometimes was hilarious. Tracy’s artwork is laugh out loud funny and I feel like she would be a hoot to meet in real life. The things Sadie has gone through in her short life and how they are addressed was done wonderfully, they weren’t glosses over, they were done in a real way and I felt it made the book feel more real. This book was just so wonderfully done.
