I adored this book so so so much.

We follow Autumn and her sister, Ember, on their second chance rescue farm they inherited from their grandparents. Autumn is an interior designer and Ember a gifted craftswoman who can wield a power tool better than most men. They're very different from one another and Autumn has felt some competition between her and her sister due to comments made by their mother about appearance, personality and success over the years.

They live in a small town and Autumn is well known for being left at the altar by her previous fiance and has sworn off men completely choosing to focus solely on her work and the farm. A man she went to high school with named Tash and his daughter Sadie, brings new distractions and friendships. Allowing Autumn an opportunity to heal and realize that not all men are bad and that rekindling old relationships could be worth the vulnerability she has been avoiding for so long.

Things I loved:
-I loved the sister bond in this book. Having two sisters of my own, I loved how they had each other's backs and although they got on each other's nerves at times, their bond is deeper than blood and they truly love each other more than they can express.

-I loved the relationship between their mom, Tracy and their dad, Flynn. Although their dad is in a wheelchair due to a stroke, he's still so in love with their mom and takes every opportunity to show his desires for her and his love for both her and their children. It's so soft and sweet. I adored it.

-I loved the relationship shown between Tash and his daughter, Sadie. He gets full custody of her after her mom passes away in an accident. Tash learns that his ex wasn't always honest with him or Sadie and has to do quite a bit of trust building for Sadie to feel like opening up. He feels the need to make sure Sadie feels welcomed and accepted as well which is so sweet to see. He's honest and vulnerable with her and that is something I haven't seen in a lot of books I've read lately. It was so perfect.

-I loved the relationship between Tash and Autumn as well. It wasn't lust. It was appreciation, respect, honor, and trust. Friendship first. I loved that. When we got to the romance it was hot and heavy, but not over the top and I appreciated that SO much.

Lori Foster is an amazing writer. This book was ART and I can't wait to reread it in the future.

Great new book.

I love this new town that is introduced to us with this book. Autumn and Ember run an animal sanctuary while also doing their day jobs.

I really loved these two ladies and the men that seem strong enough to get them.

Autumn and Ember are sisters who are very different from each other but they always support each other when times are difficult. When a single dad moves in Autumn works to design a play area that Ember will build and sparks fly. ARC from NetGalley.

Amber and Ember Somerset are sisters who run a business together, inherited their grandparent's farm which they now run as a farm animal rescue together and they live in the farmhouse that they turned into a duplex, yet these sisters are very different from one another. Amber is happy living her solitary life, Ember loves to party and socialize and wants to have a family. When Tash, Amber's highschool crush, returns to town with his young daughter in tow, Ember does what she can to put them together. And when Ember realizes that she has feelings for Mike, their handyman, it looks like both sisters are in for a happily ever after.

I really enjoyed this story. The sisters were amazing people. I loved all the animals and how they dropped everything to rescue one when they got a call. They were smart, independent, strong women who both had things in their past that caused them to be cautious, overly cautious, in their present life. Tash's daughter, Sadie, is adorable. She is wounded as well and very cautious and protective of her father, so it was great to watch her thaw in regards to Amber. I enjoyed the dialogue and plot of this story. There were a couple of sex scenes, but they were pretty tame compared to some others I have come across lately. This is a feel-good, second-chance romance involving some wonderful characters and a book that I definitely recommend as a summer read.

Love! Love! Love!

Perfection! Lori Foster creates a heart warming read that is sure to tug at your heartstrings and give you a few new laugh lines! The laugh out loud fun in this book is extremely delightful. I was drawn in right from the start. I completely fell head over heels in love with these characters. Which made me become so invested and unwilling to put the book down. I did not want to stop reading at all! I flew through these pages, I couldn’t get enough.

The Somerset Girls was a truly remarkable escape that made my heart feel so much lighter. This is going down as one of my favorite books this year.

Wow, I just realized that I've been a fan of Lori Foster's for just about 20 years now. The Somerset Girls is lower conflict, relatively speaking, than some of Foster's other work but I enjoyed it just the same. In fact, I appreciate that Lori Foster can write a romance that can keep you engaged without there having to be a big misunderstanding.

I really liked the way she really crafted the entire community and the Somerset family. I always love entertaining secondary characters like Tracey, both the cow and the mother.
I really loved that she focused so much on the relationship between Autumn and Ember because the bond of sisterhood is so important. She didn't try to make it a perfect relationship but rather a realistic one where they were there for each other when they needed to be but also knew each other's limits.

As a romance fanatic, I appreciate that we got two romances in one with The Somerset Girls. When I initially saw the title I thought it would lean more women's fiction, which is great, but personally I'm a sucker for a happily ever after so I was very pleased with the way the book turned out. I did find that most of the relationship storyline was dedicated to Autumn and Tash, but that was understandable given they had more elements to their relationship to deal with.

There were some pretty heavy emotional things the characters had to deal with. I really like the way Foster wrote them all dealing with Sadie's left over issues from her mother. Also the way Ember's issues were addressed. I really appreciated that no one tried to downplay what she'd gone through.
Overall I really enjoyed The Somerset Girls and I'm looking forward to reading more from Lori Foster for years to come

I really needed this story. It helped pull me away from real life and pulled me into small town were the Somerset sisters live. I enjoyed seeing Autumn and Ember help each other through the changes they went through.

I loved the proposals! Sadie was one of my favorite characters. Thank you for a great read!!

THE SOMERSET GIRLS by Lori Foster is a contemporary, adult, erotic, romance story line focusing on the Somerset sisters, and the men with whom they will fall in love: interior designer/animal rescue operator Autumn Somerset and single father / advertising executive Tash Ducker; and builder Ember Somerset and farm hand Mike Brewer.

Told from several third person perspectives THE SOMERSET GIRLS follows Autumn Somerset as she comes face to face with her high school crush Tash Ducker upon his return to Sunset Kentucky. Tash is a divorcee/widower with a seven year old daughter, and is looking for someone to redesign a few rooms but Autumn struggles in the wake of a failed relationship where she was left at the altar by her cheating ex-fiance. Rebuilding her friendship with Tash Ducker has the added benefit of his daughter Sadie, a precocious seven year old child who struggles with her own issues of trust and love. Tash, claiming he has no time for a sexual relationship finds himself falling for the woman that will steal his heart.

Meanwhile, Ember Somerset struggles with a heart breaking secret, a secret only her sister knows. Mike Brewer ‘s attraction to Ember pushes all of her buttons, an attraction that is mutual but one Ember refuses to admit. Mike is desperate for some one on one time with Ember Somerset, and makes Ember an offer she is reluctant to refuse. Both have secrets that neither one is willing to share but a mutual compromise reveals a growing love for this story line couple.

Lori Foster pulls the reader into a heart warming and emotional story of family and love; of betrayal and loss; of acceptance and moving forward. All of our story line characters, including Autumn and Ember’s parents Flynn and Tracy, have life experiences that are tragic but it is the experiences that form the person that each will become. The character driven premise is inviting and enjoyable-the conflict is minimal; the romances are seductive and intimate; the $ex scenes are passionate; the characters are real and animated. THE SOMERSET GIRLS is an uplifting and inspiring story of two sisters who find love and their own happily ever afters.

4.5/5

Sisters Autumn and Ember Somerset work together, live side-by-side in a duplex-style home, and hang out together in their free time. Autumn is a designer, Ember is a builder. Both sisters also run an animal rescue on their family farm, which they inherited from their grandparents.

Each sister has her own romance storyline, and I think they're really good. There is a low amount of angst and the love interests are respectful of Autumn and Ember, which I think is super swoony. One of the love interests has a 7-year-old daughter, Sadie, that ends up with a great storyline of her own. Sadie's scenes made me smile because she's such a cute little kid.

I love the animals on the farm and the ones featured in the rescues in the story. There is a family dog that the sisters share and he's adorable. I think the thing I loved most about this story is the relationship that Autumn and Ember have. They genuinely love one another and they want the best for one another. Each sister gets happy and excited when good things happen to her sister, and likewise they both are angry or protective when the other one feels pain. I kept waiting for the sisters to have a Big Bad Thing happen to nearly injure their relationship, but nope, not in this story. The sisters' quirky parents also play a big role in the story, which really emphasized the importance of family. After finishing the book, I tend to think that Autumn's story is the prominent one in this story, but I genuinely enjoyed both sisters' storylines equally.

I had never read anything by Lori Foster before, despite owning several of her previous books. This one was a perfect read for me. I sat down with my digital copy yesterday morning and the entire thing in one day.

Thank you to Harlequin publishing for sending me a free digital copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for my thoughts in the form of a review!

The Somerset Girls (kindle) by Lori Foster .... I want to give this more than 5 stars....it touched my heart.. My older sister ( 1 1/2 years) are very close...I'm the one with the big bones...I was born on my grandfather's farm and spent so much time with my grandparents there and the animals. This book made me feel so good...just enough steam and a very, very HEA. I know this is one I will happily read again.

Autumn and Ember are sisters, taking care of their family farm where they care for animals that had been abused. As much as they work hard together, the sisters are so different personality wise. I loved how Autumn was more quiet, happy to stay at home with her books and read. However her quiet existence was going to change soon, when her high school crush Tash moved back to town with his adorable daughter. Ember is the sister who is the life of the party, who with her personality and how she has treated her sister at times drives their farmhand Mike crazy. I enjoyed seeing how the sisters interacted with each other, how they had to learn to open up and how they supported each other. Both went through painful times but both ended up shining! I also loved Tash's adorable little girl and the animals on the farm.

This is one of those books that you pick up and feel transported into. It a little bit of everything, sisterhood, recovering from a divorce, recovering from a loss, an absolutely adorable child, a single father, parents who you never know what they are going to say next, and an ex that comes back to town and you wish you could shove over a cliff (although maybe that’s just me)

I love how the characters all play off of each other, and the fact that these two seemingly very different sisters, Autumn and Ember, are always there for each other, made the book for me more than the romance, what can I say - I’m a sucker for great characters. But if you know where I can find single father Tash, send him my way.

Two sisters running a animal rescue and living in a duplex that used to be their grandparents house. Two very different approaches to life but still super close when it matters. That's the Somerset sisters. Autumn get a job designing a backyard project and inside rooms for a man she used to crush on in high school. He and his adorable daughter capture her heart. Ember had a devastating loss last year and she puts of a vibe that she's a party girl when what she really wants is a family. The girls farmhand is that man she just doesn't know it yet. I enjoyed this book a lot. From the beginning i was hooked on the characters. Lori Foster just makes you feel right at home. The only thing that bothered me a bit was Ember's HEA came on really fast and Autumn's seem to take forever and dragged on a bit. When everything is crazy in the real world right now this was a breath of fresh air. Something to make you smile for sure. Forget for a bit. Just what a good book is supposed to do.

Ive read Lori Foster before and honestly, this book gave me everything I needed and wanted. The Somerset Girls centers around Autumn and Ember, two sisters who run an animal rescue farm, in addition to their own jobs. And their romances with 2 very eligible bachelors. These book is from the perspectives of Autumn, Ember, Tash, and mike which is something I absolutely love . We experience second chance lovers in one romance while getting enemies to lovers from the other

This is the perfect summertime romance and is like getting two books in one. Sisters Autumn and Ember have full-time jobs but also run an animal rescue on the farm that was left to them by their grandparents. As can be expected with sisters, they have their moments. But there is no stronger bond than what they have for each other and they always have the other's back when needed.

Tash is back in town with his young daughter. Autumn had a crush on him in high school and Ember has arranged for Autumn to do some interior design for Tash. His daughter is so precious and who can help but fall in love with her. And as the three of them spend more and more time together, they all help each other to heal their wounds.

The other romance in the story is between Ember and Mike. Mike has worked on the farm for the last couple years but Ember hasn't given him the time of day - until the anniversary of a tragic event. Once she starts to take notice of Mike, things get real interesting.

Aside from the romances, I loved the humor in the story and how many of the characters had their eyes opened to seeing themselves in new ways. And the Somerset parents were somewhat eccentric and memorable.

Polar opposite sisters who live/work together on a farm for rescued animals find love. Autumn and Ember make a dynamic duo in the safe haven that they have made. This is a fun beach read that portrays two sisters with some emotional baggage find and secure themselves some love.

What did I like? I knew I’d love this story because not only do you get one HEA but you get two. Autumn is the more humble sister... after being jilted two weeks before her wedding she holds ice cream above any time spent with a man. A high school crush returns to town and she slowly starts to warm to him. Ember has a depression of a sort after losing a baby, and her only fun seems to be arguing with the hired help. Both these sisters are just amazing and the work they do to rescue animals such a huge part of who they are. There is more of a story here than individual romance but it’s a fun and relaxed read.

Would I recommend or buy? No brainer this author just looks great on my shelf. You can find her books easy.... whether it be a store or library. If your beaching it this summer then this is a great beach read! Loved it!

Thoughts for the author! Congratulations on your new release! Smashing book.... love the animals. Such a warm and welcoming book with a casual atmosphere! Five stunning stars.

My Thoughts:

The Somerset Girls by Lori Foster was a charming second chance romance. It was the story of two very different, but extremely close and loyal sisters. We get two delightful romances in this book, as well as such a touching story with family as a focus, and extra emphasis on sisterhood.

Thirty-two year old Autumn Somerset was jilted at the alter three years ago. Since then, she's sworn off men, and instead indulges in books and ice cream. Younger sister, Ember Somerset is known for being fun loving, feisty, and free-spirited, but she too has suffered loss. Together, these two sisters run a business where Autumn designs, and Ember builds. On top of their business, they live on and run an enchanting rescue farm, where they built themselves a duplex, as well as a home for their parents. After their father suffered a severe stroke, Autumn and Ember decided to take turns helping out with their parents.

When Autumn's high school crush Tash Ducker moves back to town with his seven year old daughter, Sadie, Ember decides to play matchmaker. She sets up an appointment for Tash with Autumn, because he wants to design and build Sadie's dream bedroom and play area. As things start to heat up between Autumn and Tash, Ember's feelings grow towards, Mike, their farmhand. Will Autumn and Ember get the happily ever after that they both desire?

The Somerset Girls was a breath of fresh air. It was low-angst, sweet, and my type of feel good romance. I had a smile on my face the whole time I took this story in. I loved that I got two wonderful romances, as well as getting to know Autumn and Ember's eccentric parents, and Tash's adorable daughter Sadie. I loved the strong bond that Autumn and Ember shared, and these two women reminded me of myself and my sister. Tash and Mike were two sexy, kind, and charming leading men, and both love stories were great! If you are in the mood for a small town second chance romance, with close knit sisters, kind hearted leading men, smiles, laughs, and the perfect romantic ending, look no further!

I love this story so, so much! It has all the elements of a sweet girl, adorable animals and two sisters that figure out who they are and what they want from their life and love. The romances that bloom between Ember and Mike and Autumn and Tash are so great and how they use honesty and telling what they want. I could not put this down!!

Autumn and Ember are sisters who have been there for each other as they face all the obstacles that life has thrown at them. When it comes to their personalities, they couldn’t be more different as Autumn prefers her quiet lifestyle while Ember is more content being the life of the party but when it comes to their professions they are in sync. They run the animal rescue shelter they inherited from their grandparents together and they both work in the housing industry where Autumn does designing while Ember does the construction and they both have very different but painful pasts.

When a man from Autumn’s past returns to town she helps Tash with a couple of projects that he wants to complete for his daughter and although neither was looking for love it seems that fate had other ideas.

Ember has been attracted to Mike, a man who has been working for the animal shelter for a few years, but for them to find their way to each other they will have to truly get to know each other and share not only their hearts but their pasts with each other.

This is a heartwarming story about love, family and new beginnings.

Fun in the sun with sizzling heat!

This sweet summer story is about the Somerset sisters, Autumn & Ember, who are wonderful, hard-working and caring with their love of animals and saving them from the cruelty of others.

Each having their own obstacles to overcome, they each do so with ferocity & determination of women who find themselves in love with two amazing men... Will they find the love of their lives or will it end after the summer heat that fizzles out?

Either way, you’ll enjoy the sizzling heat of this ride... 😉

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
