First off I want to thank @netgalley, @bookouture & @kerrywilkinson for my free advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Talk about a dysfunctional family, with some non stop drama. I thoroughly enjoyed this book which was done in the form of an interview, I felt it made you more invested and included in the story. This story is based on a true story and Wilkinson did a great job of bringing it to life.

It was hard for me to get into the characters at first just because it's in script form so it's harder to get into who's who and related to who. But once you get acclaimed to everything the story starts to unravel, there is honestly never a dull moment. You constantly discover drama, twists, revelations, suspicions with each turn of the page. I really got attached to Emma since she is the main focus and I am still rooting for her innocence. This is a cleverly written novel that makes you suspect everyone but without any clear evidence of whodunit. Do not go into this novel expecting to be told who the culprit is, because that's not what you'll get. It is also super important to read the author's note at the end to tie everything together.

This is cleverly done so different than a regular true crime novel and I really enjoyed it.

I read this book under its first title "Seven Days in July", and am not sure I like the new title. It's about a family who returns to a Mediterranean island years after a family friend was killed in a fall there. Accidents continue to happen when they return. There are lots of personal conflicts in this story, but the resolution somehow seems a bit weak.

This story is told in an interview way.
The family have gone back to the Mediterranean island where 9 years Geoffs business partner fell off a cliff and Geoff was a suspect but the police put it down to an accident.
On the first night Geoff is found at the bottom of the cliff but he is still alive.
The family tell their parts but who is telling the truth and did Geoff fall or was he pushed..
A stand alone book
Really enjoyed this book love the author
Thanks NetGalley

A tension filled thriller that starts when you turn the first page! Few books can hook my attention and keep it as well as AFTER THE ACCIDENT! I've read many of Kerry Wilkinson's books and while they are good reads, this one tops the list as favorite. Told through the eyes of the people who were there the night the mystery starts, each character adds to the mystery. You will literally change your mind on who did it after each chapter. It's hard to tell you how good this book is without giving away the story, so you will just have to read it for yourself!!!!

WoW.......I just love Kerry's books and when After the Accident by Kerry Wilkinson I just had to read it. I was not disappointed It was Brilliant. Very different to his other books. A standalone book set on a Mediterranean island. Two families the McGinleys and the Dorseys are on holiday on the beautiful Greek Island of Galanikos. They all are enjoying their well earned holiday when the nightmare begins when Emma's McGinleys father Geoffrey is found unconscious on the sand. Her father has fallen from a cliff.

Was he pushed? as suspicions and accusations start especially as the family has big secrets they want to be hidden and never come out in the open especially as they will destroy their families.

Does Geoffrey survive the fall?

Will the secrets that are hidden come out in the open?

WoW, once I started to read this book I could not put it down. Kerry's books just get better and Better.

I highly recommend this book and all his books, They are just Brilliant!

Big thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

After the Accident by Kerry Wilkinson.
After the accident which tore apart her family, Emma is shocked to be invited away to a beautiful Mediterranean island – but when her mother calls her out of the blue, wanting to make amends, she can’t say no.
Julius hasn’t seen his sister Emma in years. Although he can’t ever trust her again after what she did, he’s willing to put their differences aside for the sake of their elderly parents.
A very good read. I liked the story. Full of action. Although I didn't have a favourite character I still enjoyed this book. 4*.

This was such an original way of telling a story! It was told using interviews between all the different characters. This way we were able to get all of the characters side of the story and as things were revealed, you had to keep guessing what was true or not. This kept the story very engaging.

In the beginning, there are lots of characters to familiarize yourself with, but it does get easier to remember who is who, at a certain point. The character development was very well executed! Some characters I absolutely loathed other I really rooted for them.

This book contains so many layers and so many secrets, it will keep you guessing until the very end!

I was left a bit disappointed by the ending, but that is just my personal preference for this type of ending, hence the 4 stars, but overall, such a fun read!

I got this book and read it finally. I did not at all enjoy it. I don’t tend to like books that are written in this format. To me it was sort of like reading a diary or like reading a play maybe. I just did not enjoy it at all.
I’m very sorry but this book is not one I can recommend. My first by this author and I really liked it.

The characters, Sunshine and Auri are wonderful and you will love them.
The mystery is well developed and will keep you turning pages to the end.
I look forward to more books by this author.
A must read.

Thank you NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for the ARC in exchange for my review.
A big 4 stars and high recommend from me.
I do thank #NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC
It only gets 1 star from me.

After The Accident is a different type of read that I’ve not experienced before but worked for me.
This book grabbed my attention from the first page, this book is about an extended family that go on holiday to the Island of Galanikos. Geoff is the father who arranges this holiday, his wife has terminal cancer and says this will be her last holiday abroad and it will be to their favourite place. Now this is where this book is very different as the book is told in interview format from a filming company. They are researching into the death of Geoff’s business partner 9 years ago and on the first evening of filming things take a different turn.
This was a very different style of writing for me but it made it a very tense did they, didn’t they read which I really liked. As you follow the interviews you leap from one party’s side to the other and as things are reveals you have to decided if it is the truth or not.
A really different and good read that i enjoyed.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

I was excited to receive this book as I have enjoyed every other book Ive read by Kerry Wilkinson.
This time around the story is told in interview style and felt rather like watching a documentary on the tv.
Although I was interested enough to read the whole book by the end it all felt rather flat.
This is only my personal opinion so dont be put off Im sure for some readers this will be an excellent read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this as an ARC.

Revealed through interviews of the main characters, this story is wholly unique and very engaging. The author did a fantastic job of weaving everything together, as each person’s point of view revealed another facet of the story. The method also kept me wavering as to whose side of the story was real and who was lying. Spoiler alert: I’m still not sure. I would definitely recommend this book. I have been a fan of Kerry's work for quite a while now. I absolutely love the series featuring Jessica Daniel. I read the synopsis for 'After The Accident' and it certainly sounded like another cracking read. Oh my word, 'After The Accident' is one hell of a fantastic read, which I thoroughly enjoyed but more about that in a bit.
I can't say that I warmed to any of the characters in this book really. That's not a bad thing though because it means that I don't favour one character over the other. I got the distinct impression that each character was hiding something and desperate to prevent the truth getting out. I wouldn't have trusted any of them as far as I could throw them (which with a knackered back wouldn't be far). The characters intrigued me and I had to know whether my suspicions were anywhere near the truth. What happens? Well for the answer to that question and so much more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves to find out as I am not going to tell you.
My first impression when I finished reading this book was 'wowzers what a hell of a read that was'. I thoroughly enjoyed reading every single second of the story. As soon as I started to read, I knew that I was going to be in for one hell of a read. I made the fatal mistake of starting to read the book shortly before I went to bed. Let's just say that I read into the wee small hours of the night and that I had a 'lack of sleep' hangover the following morning. For me, 'After The Accident' is the true definition of an unputdownable page turner of a read. If I wasn't reading this book, I was thinking about this book and how quickly I could get back to reading the book. I was gripped by the story from the start and I was on the edge of my seat throughout.
'After The Accident' is superbly written but then I think that to be true of all of Kerry's books. Kerry has one of those writing styles that is easy to get used to and easy to get along with. He certainly knows how to grab your attention from the start and draw you into the story. For me, the story hit the ground running and maintained the pace throughout. 'After The Accident' is written in a slightly different style to other books. The story is narrated by multiple characters and seems to take the form of an interview transcript. I did wonder if the fact that multiple characters were telling the story would prove to be a bit confusing. I needn't have worried because this way of telling the story worked really well and the story flowed seamlessly throughout. This story had more layers to it than you would find on a parcel during a game of 'Pass The Parcel'. Unpeel one layer and you uncover several more.
In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'After The Accident' and I wholeheartedly recommend it to other readers. I will definitely be reading more of Kerry's work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

I really enjoyed this book. It was completely different to what I have come to expect from Kerry Wilkinson. An extended family go on holiday to the Island of Galanikos. After visiting for many years there came a gap of nine years after Geoff’s business colleague died on the Island. However, as Geoff’s wife was now terminally ill she wanted a final family holiday before the disease claimed her life. Written mainly as interviews conducted by a film company, the story focuses on the viewpoint of daughter Emma and is intertwined by the perspective of each of the other characters. The same incident can be viewed in different ways with one character contradicting another. The holiday is thrown into turmoil on the first evening when a serious incident occurs. The whole week becomes a series of events and repercussions and the outcome will have lifelong consequences for all concerned. As to the outcome, no spoilers but I feel Kerry led us in the right direction. Well written and thought provoking. Thanks to Kerry Wilkinson and the publisher for the advance copy for review.

Whew! What a ride this book was! At first, I was put off by the writing style. It is formatted as interviews with various members of two families intertwined in a mystery. But as the book progressed, I found myself fascinated by the characters describing situations and them seeing things so differently. At times it was comical and at times it was creepy. This book has everything you want in a thriller: murder, various suspects and possibly MULTIPLE unreliable narrators. My head was spinning in the best way with all these twists and little nuggets of suspicion the writer sprinkled here and there. I sped through the book just to find out what REALLY happened. And if you read this book, trust me, you will too! It’s definitely unique and a can’t put down type! Enjoy the ride readers!

This psychological thriller by Kerry Wilkinson features two families, the McGinleys and the Dorseys who have descended on the beautiful Greek Island of Galanikos for a holiday. As they are enjoying their break, any peace and tranquility that might have existed is destroyed when Emma McGinley's father, Geoffrey, is found unconscious on the sand.

The narrative is unusual - a group of people who are various members of the two families, tell their version of events, interview style. I loved how the story was constructed and I was suspicious of each character, not trusting what any of them had to say. Interestingly, Geoffrey's former business partner, Alan fell (was pushed) from a cliff on the same island and died, nine years earlier.

Kerry Wilkinson displayed remarkable character development skills whether or not you loved or loathed the characters. Selfishness, family politics, greed, revenge, and underhand tactics by various family members all resulted in my desperation to whip through the pages of After The Accident faster and faster. With everyone potentially a suspect, there was no evidence to show what really happened, leaving me guessing until the very end. Don't miss out on this humdinger of a novel!

I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel at my request from Bookouture via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

My first time delving into work from this author....
I loved his layout to this read, a story told in interview type format...
A completely dysfunctional family at the core of it all....
An incident happens and the story is told from a number of different viewpoints...
I was amazed at how different people can see the same incident when asked......
Who do you believe, do they have different motives....
Each character in this story was unique and very believable.
You can feel the tension for sure which makes it quite a compelling read...
What I didn't realise while reading it was that this book is an account of a true crime that happened on a Greek island some time ago and is based on interviews from people that were on the island at the time...
Such a clever way of writing a book...
For me, I wasn't sure who I believed. Each character was so sure in their recollection of events and I found it so hard to poke holes in any of their versions....
If I'm honest, I was a little disappointed in his ending but that didn't take away from the fact that it was a fantastic read..
Well worth taking the time on this one

"Is it a true crime tale, or is it an examination of family, jealousy and grief? Maybe it's all of those things? Or maybe, it is a simple tale of someone who pushed their father off a cliff and got away with it."

Originally titled "Seven Days in July", this book certainly opens itself up to intense scrutiny and unlimited speculation. It's the story of a group of people who tell their version of events, interview style, explaining what happened when they all went on holiday to the island of Galanikos in the Mediterranean. Based on a real incident, all the names have been changed but the basic fact is that Geoffrey McGinley, a British businessman, was standing on a cliff after dinner on the first evening there and later he was found unconscious and broken on the beach below. Did he fall or was he pushed? Geoffrey was at the resort with his wife, Beth, their grown children Julius and Emma, his business partner, Daniel Dorsey, along with his wife Liz and their son, Victor and Vic's wife. In addition Julius's 8-year-old twins, Chloe and Amy, were along on this trip. The getaway was planned by the elder McGinleys as Beth had been diagnosed with a medical condition and wasn't doing well. They had been to the island many times, but hadn't gone for the previous 9 years. So, a family trip with a party of 10 descended on the resort. The problems started the very first night. NO SPOILERS.

This book is so different to what Kerry Wilkinson usually writes and I had no clue of what to expect. I definitely enjoyed it, especially the style created by recordings made of interviews with all of the subjects. The entire collection of photographs, film and recordings was supposed to be a movie based on the case but the author used the material to create this novel presenting everything in written form and then leaving the reader to make up her own mind about what happened and who to believe. I can honestly say that there wasn't a character in this whole story that I actually liked. I questioned everything -- perhaps if I'd heard it all relayed in their own voices, watched their body language, analyzed their verbal tics, I might be able to put my reactions and thoughts into better perspective. I might be able to say which person I really believed. There should definitely be a film of this, a miniseries for sure. This type of docudrama is quite popular nowadays. So, in the end, "It's not only a question of who did what, but whether anything was done at all."

It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. Churchill said that about Russia but it refers perfectly to After the Accident by Kerry Wilkinson. The unusual, inventive format reads like non-fiction and has not one point of view but purports to be based on many interviews with people who were on a remote Mediterranean island when crimes may or may not have happened.

Wealthy businessman Geoffrey McGinley has brought his entire family and others to Galanikos for the first time in nine years. During the last visit, his business partner Alan fell to his death from a cliff. This time, it is Geoff who falls but survives. What really happened and why? Emma, his daughter with a tragic past, is the most frequent narrator and this becomes her story. Her words are compelling yet unreliable. Her brother Julius contradicts her, as do his young twin daughters. Geoff tells a different story, as does his business partner Daniel and his family. Adding to the mystery surrounding the fall are several local residents and a film crew making a documentary about Alan’s fall.

Does this sound confusing? It is? It is also totally captivating. The plot twists and turns is so many ways that it is impossible to guess the ending… and then what happens in the next chapter. You will not be able to stop reading! 5 stars.

Thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and Kerry Wilkinson for this ARC.

Clever, compelling, creative. Kerry Wilkinson has crafted a fresh story with a unique construct. The story was told in an interview style reminiscent of a documentary. I started this book in print and then I thought I go see if there was an audio version. I have to admit for me this worked a lot better on audio. It is narrated by multiple narrators and it was really like listening to a really well-done crime podcast. Kerry Wilkinson narrates A small part of the story, it was nice to hear his voice. I’ve read a few reviews that allude to this being based on a true story? I can’t find any information that would back this up, but it definitely reads as one. Dysfunction, deception, secrets, and lies.

Emma finds herself on a family vacation for the first time in years. She is there with her parents, her brother and his twin daughters, her fathers business partner and his wife, and his son and his wife. Emma has a past that people refer to, but you do not find out about it until later in the book. When Emma‘s father Jeff is found having fallen from a cliff (not dead, but in need of serious medical attention) Emma is the prime suspect. But Emma is adamant about her innocence and wonders if this has anything to do with a similar accident involving her father’s ex business partner resulting in his death many years ago. I really loved how the story was constructed. I was suspicious of every character and did not trust what any of them had to say. Well that is a lie, I did trust the twins Chloe and Amy(sort of). I found Emma to be the most likable of the characters. This could be because she was the primary focus, but I really did not want her to be the guilty party. An entertaining tale with a welcome twist. I don’t generally like to compare books, but this book reminded me of Daisy Jones in structure, but the story was entirely different. Strongly encourage you to do this one on audio, if that’s your thing.

Wow! This was such an unusual read. Veteran author Kerry Wilkinson’s formatting of this book made for some thought provoking moments in this well-crafted mystery. The story is filled with unreliable narrators, or are they unreliable? Who is unreliable? That is the real mystery.

This story centers around a trip two families, linked by a business partnership, take together to a Mediterranean island. On the first night out, there is plenty of drama at the dinner table. Then when Geoffrey, the patriarch of one of the families, is found at the bottom a cliff, the question is posed. Did he accidentally fall, or was he pushed off the cliff?

Multiple people narrate this story. The character’s comments and opinions are interjected back and forth as if they are being interviewed for a television drama. That format was interesting. It raised the question of who was the unreliable narrator early, and left me asking myself that question often. I’m still not sure whom I fully believe. The story unfolds in many surprising ways as more of the backstories of the characters are revealed. It is a page-turner, that’s for sure.

I thought that this was a thoroughly entertaining novel. I’d recommend it for fans of well-written mysteries who aren’t put off by an ambiguous ending. Personally, I liked not being spoon fed the solution to the mystery. This is a really innovative and entertaining book.

‘Thank-You’ to NetGalley; the publisher, Bookouture; and the author, Kerry Wilkinson, for providing a free e-ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
