I honestly can't tell you if I have just read a true crime novel, a set of transcripts from a documentary, or if everything is completely fictional from the mind of a mastermind author.

However you wish to describe this book it is a wonderful experience, had me second guessing every word, had me googling to find out if the Greek island featured was even real.

Everything was incredibly convincing, so I'm still not sure whose accounts were the truth.

I know which character I want to believe, and its the one I really got inside the head of. But whether she is delusional or not I'm not completely sure.

It is though that got under my skin from the start and I found myself thinking about when I wasn't reading.

It was largely in style and content unlike anything I've read before, and I do love originality in a story.

I would dearly love to know the truth of what happened during those Seven days in July but somehow I'm not even sure the author knows.

It's the first book I've read by Kerry Wilkinson for a long while and now I'm wondering why that is. Definitely need to read more in future and not just when the cover piques my interest.

100% worth reading this, its fabulous.

Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I wasn’t sure at first about the style this book is written in with individual quotes from the characters, but I was quickly drawn in! I was engrossed within a few pages especially as the drama starts early on in the book. A really gripping read - a great one for a summer holiday read.

A very different type of story. This is told in a series of interviews of both people involved and various witnesses. This is a true story - but pretty much everything is a lie, it seems. You don't know who's lying and who's telling the truth - if anyone. A true mystery! I wasn't sure I would like this book because of the format, but I was pleasantly surprised. I quickly became intrigued and the mystery is fascinating.

Two families go to the island of Galanikos for a holiday. On the first day Geoffrey falls (was pushed) from a cliff and is hospitalized. Nine years earlier Geoffrey's business partner Alan fell (was pushed) from a cliff on the same island and died (was murdered). Everyone is a suspect but there is no evidence to show what really happened. The characters are really all believable and any of them could be true (or false).

Thanks to Kerry Wilkinson and Bookouture through Netgalley for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Great book. Very different from Kerry's previous books - and I initially wasn't sure about the format of the book (reading the transcripts of interviews). However, I have to admit, it works !! A riveting story from start to finish.

The story follows two families on holiday, and someone is found unconscious on the beach. What the book does is layout a version of events, and at the end, you have to figure out what the truth is - makes you realise how hard it must be to be on a jury !!

Not quite 5 stars, but this was a great book to read, and I strongly recommend it. Thanks again for the review copy !

Two families who are in business together travel to a Greek island for vacation. The head of the business falls of a cliff but survives and is hospitalized. His daughter Emma believes he was pushed. She seems to be alone in this belief. The book is told in interview form from various perspectives, primarily Emma's, for a documentary about this incident and a related incident on the same island 9 years before.

I sort of liked this book. It was certainly unique with the interview format. I maybe would have liked it better if it had just been written in a normal style. Throughout, you don't know if Emma is telling the truth and at the end you still kind of don't know. I like a little more closure. Overall though, not bad. This was my first Kerry Wilkinson and probably not my last.

This is the newest stand alone book by Wilkinson and it was....interesting. A documentary is being filmed on an island where a "murder" took place several years ago. Unbeknown to a family that was there when it happened, and is now back at the same time to take one last family vacation. This book is told through interviews by these people. You don't know who to trust or who is telling the truth. By the end, you still won't know. Interesting.....that's all I have to say.

Wow this is the ultimate he said, she said story. At first I was doubting if this book actually was a transcript of a documentary, and maybe I still am, but I am pretty sure it’s a work of fiction. This book is that good.

Two identical cases happen 9 years apart on a family holiday. The blame game is played and there are accusations on both sides. Story’s that don’t add up and have you doubting everything. At first I was sure it was Emma who did it, but after finishing the book I am not sure. The author’s notes in the book? A stroke of genius, they help question it all even more.

The book is very well written and while I am not familiar with the island or any of the people in the book I feel like I know all about it and them.

The story is told by interviews given by the people involved. The last time this family vacationed on the island of Galinikos was nine years ago, when one member of their group dies after falling (or possibly pushed) off a cliff. This vacation another person in their group falls from the same cliff. The story is interesting, contains a lot of he said, she said. You do not know who to believe. The story is based on a true story. It was a bit slow at times but definitely held my attention.

I’ve read many of this authors other books and loved them all. Am sorry to say this one wasn’t for me. I found it boring and confusing and not up to his usual standard. It didn’t grab me at all and I struggled to read it.

The format of this thriller is unique - it’s told through transcripts of interviews with different people involved. Showing how the characters tried to present themselves to the cameras was an interesting way to build suspense and suspicions. I loved seeing how different people interpret the same situation and how their bias came out in their stories.

But the mystery just wasn’t there for me. I forgot what we were trying to figure out by the middle and the ending was a let down. I just didn’t care about this unlikeable group of people, their family issues, or their business dealings.

Interesting execution, bland story.
I would pick up the author’s work in the future.

(Thanks to Netgalley for the arc)

Incredible book! Loved how the story was delivered!! Story of a family on holiday with lots of drama! But based on a true story which made it more appealing! I for one believed Emma! Although there were lots of conflicting stories! I won’t spoil it! But it’s a must read! Brilliant storyline for a movie! Fingers crossed!

Blimey. This was a very different style of book that I have ever experienced before and although I wasn’t expecting the unusual format, Kerry has not disappointed! The only disappointment was I needed to know what happened!
So intriguing

Kerry Wilkinson, you are a genius!
This is the most uniquely written book with the most creative concept with the most love to hate characters, with the twistiest of twists and the darkest of secrets.
I was hooked from page 1, line 1 and it only got more gripping from there. This is now my top #1 book for 2020 so far!
A standing ovation for you Kerry Wilkinson!!!!

I have previously read and enjoyed Kerry Wilkinson's books and I'm a sucker for novels set abroad so I was pleased to read an ARC of this book.

The format was a very unique interview style and I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first but I think the story had to be told this way to get the best idea of how horrible most of the characters were! Most of the characters were awful, but in the good way, making it exciting to read about them. I also loved the descriptions of the island and in a way wish there had been even more of that.

I raced through the book as I was so excited to find out where it was going and I think that's ultimately the reason I would rate it 4 stars rather than 5. I have a desperate need for closure and the book definitely leaves you with more questions than answers. I would also have liked at least one of the awful characters to have received some kind of comeuppance!

Having said that I don't think I will be forgetting this book in a hurry and I would recommend it.

This is such an intriguing read! The story is about two families on holiday & is presented as a documentary transcript. One the first night, someone falls off a cliff - or were they pushed? What follows is conspiracy theories, family secrets & everyone turning on each other. Were people setup or were they manipulating people?

Holy fuck!! By the power of everything twisted in the literary world, what did I just read? Whack went the book, making a home run! I may not know my baseball, but I know my books. The book was everything a psychological thriller ought to be.

I didn’t know who was telling the truth at the end. It all came down to he said, she said, and everything was the truth but nothing really was. And if it were, then who knew? I was left gasping like a goldfish when I reached the end. (Totally the author’s lines in the book!)

I love it when author Kerry Wilkinson downloads the evil in his mind and portrays it in his characters. And he has gone all out with this plot. Read it to believe it. A family with 6 members, parents, siblings and twin grandchildren went to the Greek island of Galanikos for a last holiday along with the family of the best friend/partner. And the father fell down the cliff which was similar to what happened years ago on the same island to the third business partner.

Sounds convoluted, doesn’t it? The entire book was written in the format of interview transcripts where each character put forth their points of view of what happened that day and in the days prior, from the time they landed on the island, with the author’s input too interspersed in the prose. There were so many winding lanes in it, I had so many questions when the author plopped me right in the middle of it.

Family politics, greed, selfishness, revenge, need to punish, and underhand by-plays by various characters made me tap the kindle faster. I had high grade fever when I read this book, and believe me, my mind was completely hypnotized by the story. I even forgot to take my medicines. It was that brilliant. All I could say at the end of the book was – MORE PLEASE!!

The format didn't work too well for me but the story line itself was enjoyable.

It was well written and the plot was well thought out, I just couldn't get to grips with the differing versions and interview style format.

An excellent thriller, beautifully written and heartfelt. The writer did a wonderful job depicting the characters. Highly recommended.

Loved the layout of this book, set in a series of interviews from a family who holiday on a Greek island and are talking about their views on what they thought happened the night the head of the family, Geoff McGinley went over a cliff in an almost identical accident to the night his business partner fell from the same cliff and died.

The really interesting thing about this book is... Is it fact or fiction? You decide.

Thanks to net galley for the opportunity to review this book, this is my honest opinion.
