Excellent survey of classic cars. While it's not comprehensive, it contains a good mix of well known classic cars and some much lesser known. The illustrations are very good.

An encyclopedia of 20th century (mostly) supercars, with more than 300 entries, from Aston Martin to the VW Beetle. Each page has a photo, a description with some interesting trivia, and specs for the vehicle's top speed, weight, etc. I'm not a car person, but I still found fascinating details in the accompanying paragraph about each car. And this will likely be a future gift for my dad!

I am sorry I was never able to download this book to any of my devices. I looked up the info on netgalley on how to download but none if it worked for me. It saddens me because my husband loves Classic cars and could have give. You a wonderful review.

Just reently I came across supercars when there was a discussion about innovators ideas being ignored in the case of Lamborghini being asked to stick to tractors when he told Ferrari of a better way of making cars. This book shows details of all the race cars and their attributes.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really like classic cars, especially books with good pictures. While this book only had one picture per car, the blurbs about the cars were fairly interesting. Although I really don't consider cars like the Dodge Durango or the Jeep Grand Cherokee as "classic" cars. Definitely not "supercars". So this book wasn't quite what I was expecting or hoping for. I consider "classic" to at least be older than I am and I'm in my 30s. Maybe this book would be more interesting to high schoolers than adults.

The daughter of a mechanic, cars have been embedded into my life from birth. I have a love and appreciation for the majority of cars in this book so I was really looking forward to reading it. I was a little disappointed as book for adults that it was laid out in a manner I would expect for middle school or high school. I love the narratives included with each car and could have used more information. Each paragraph felt short and simple. The DeLorean DMC, for example, doesn't even mention its feature in Back to the Future as the catalyst for collectors snapping up the few cars made. Each car received only one photo as well. I also take issue with some of the vehicles included, but it's likely just personal preference. To me, the Lincoln Navigator is not a classic supercar.

If I were to market this book, I would market it towards middle and high school age students rather than adults. It's a great concept, but I felt like a book for adults should have had much more to it. I do plan on adding it to my high school library and purchasing a copy for my 9 year old son to look through on long car rides.

Book as marketed for adults = 3 stars.
Book for younger audience = 4 stars
