This is well written but more of a rehash of every book from the last 10 years. Worth reading if you are unfamiliar with the subject, skip if not.

I had high hopes for this book. I felt like it was not “new” and was just a retelling of information. Hyman has written many things, which are great, but needs to change the framework or have novel information to share.

Food Fix by Dr. Mark Hyman takes a look at the current food system and its many, many problems. The information included was well laid out and revealing. Sadly it was also quite depressing as many of the issues were caused by government "help". I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I simply have little hope that any of the big fixes can be implemented.

What an excellent book. Dr. Hyman goes into a deep dive about everything wrong with our food system, the corruption in our government agencies and the food companies who have pretty much bought them off, everything we've been taught about nutrition that's wrong, and how we can fix it all. I love that he isn't in one or another "camp" -- he doesn't tell you to go vegan or paleo or support one agenda or another. He uses science, facts and studies to rationally explain what kind of foods we need and how to fix our broken system to save the environment, farmers, and our own health. As a rather hardened cynic when it comes to this sort of thing, I am not prone to feeling inspired that we can make differences when things are this far off track, but he provides steps and resources throughout the book that really give me hope.

A must-read.

I read a digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.

Let me start out by saying that I have read Mark Hyman before several times in face. I'm sad to say that this book, that I was so looking forward to, offers really no new information. In fact I felt like he covered most of the information in this book in his other books. I highly respect Mark Hyman but for me this was just a bit of a repeat from his other books. I'm not sure why because he is usually a very good researcher and has a way of explaining the science of food in a way that everyone can understand . I was disappointed.

Dr. Hyman is one of my favorite people in the field of medicine. He is not afraid to share the truth of things and I appreciate that. The Food Fix offers some great information for people who don't know a lot about the utter disaster that our "food" system is in the United States and how it directly correlates to the massive obesity epidemic we are suffering from. He offers a great deal of information with sources to back it up. After explaining the issues Dr. Hyman suggests ways we as individuals can help these issues and take care of ourselves, as well as what kind of steps would be great as a nation to take if we can ever get there. I think every single person should read this book to better understand exactly how addicted the food industy has us to their products. It is worth the read to be more informed and to make better decisions for ourselves and our families.

Another excellent Dr. Mark Hyman book to read. I am always interested in the food we eat and how food impacts us. I was able to learn so much about food, food politics, and how food impacts our everyday health at any age. If you are interested in a Doctors point of view on the food industry and suggested ways to improve the food issues, then this is the book for you.

I would like to thank the publisher, St. Martin's Press, and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this book.

I did not enjoy reading this boo this much as I feel that it is not an easy read in the sense that it seems repetitive and the delivery is not hooking me as reader. I lost interest. I do think that the message is a very important one, but I think that the message should be cleared and more straight to the point.

Food Fix by Dr. Hyman offers readers a realistic and comprehensive look into the food and healthcare systems and how they impact your life on a daily basis. While Dr. Hyman offers hard truths in this book, he also offers readers suggestions and ideas to implement changes that will make a difference in the future. The book is an interesting and inclusive read that will benefit anyone interested in food systems, healthcare, and making positive changes.

I thought this book would be more engaging but I found it to be a struggle for me to read. Some of the information was useful but I found myself closing it and picking up other books to read because there wasn't enough to draw me in.

This is a really important and informative book. It makes me want to do more research on food insecurity and inequity.
