The love story of Tank and Cassie was hinted at in the first book, so I was excited that it was book two. I love the two characters and their chemistry, plus with Tank's daughter. I am looking forward to the next novel.

Despite having adored the first book in the series I was hesitant to pick up the second. It was one of those moments where I kept thinking this wouldn’t be as good and I was definitely wrong! It was so nice to be back in Wild River again and Tank and Cassie had such great chemistry as friends and even hotter chemistry as lovers. I’m a sucker for a single dad trope and Kaia stole my heart as well. I can’t wait to continue to catch up with this series 💖

Jen Snow does it again! After reading and loving An Alaskan Christmas, I hesitated to dive further into this series on the of chance I wouldn't love book 2. Well, I was wrong. It's great to be back in Wild River, Tank & Cassie & their friends to lovers relationship work great. I loved the addition of Montana & the story just works for me. I'm excited to continue the series and the audio is great!

We follow Cassie and Tank, they have been best friends forever, but there is little something else brewing between them. There is a lot standing between them, like his ex and his family live, and Cassie's business. It a slow brewing romance, with a whole lot of obstacles. I liked Cassie, but Tank was not my favorite, by far.

I wanted to love the story because the premise sounds right up my alley. But I could connect with the story, it just wasn't the best fit for me.

I loooved the first book in this series so much, I had really high expectations for Cassie’s book. Unfortunately I think due to the pandemic and my reading tastes changing, I had a difficult time finishing this one. DNF at 40%

Loved the first one, this one was just eh. Maybe I need it to have Christmas theme before I can enjoy and Alaska book.

I adore Alaska and have been sucked into reading ALL the Alaskan romance novels. Both the cover and the synopsis appealed to me even though I am sometimes shy of reading new authors.

Overall, this book was a nice read. It was a tad slow at times, the characters a bit frustrating but there were enough bright spots to make it enjoyable.

If you’re into single dads, you’ll enjoy this. Tank is a real sweetheart even if he is a commitment phobe.

Cassie is a lot of fun and is a very loyal and dedicated heroine. She adore Tank and his daughter.

I don’t want to give much away about the plot but there is a lively and cute small town setting and an interesting host of side characters. Add in a cute dog and you’ve got an overall recipe for success!

Back in December I read a holiday-ish novel, An Alaskan Christmas (review here). I was completely enthralled so I was really happy when I realized Jennifer Snow would be writing it as a series. Under an Alaskan Sky published earlier this year and I read it at a time when I needed to go back to a place that was lovely and familiar and get caught up in another love story.

Here's the synopsis:
Allowing himself to love always seemed too dangerous. Now it might be his only salvation…
Single dad Tank Wheeler has vowed to keep his heart shuttered in the name of keeping his young daughter’s life stable. But lately, the chemistry between him and his adrenaline-loving best friend, Cassie Reynolds, has been getting him a little hot under the collar. And then, with one scorching birthday kiss, these best friends are instantly more.
Exactly the wrong time for Tank’s ex to show up in Wild River, Alaska.
Cassie is pretty sure she’s having a waking nightmare. Not only is Tank’s gorgeous ex hoping to reclaim her family, but a new megastore is threatening the wilderness-adventure business she’s spent five years building. But Cassie never backs down from a fight. And now it’s time to make the most terrifying leap of her life—and hope that Tank catches her…before she falls too far.

I'm not really a big fan of love triangles so I was a bit worried about where Snow was taking the story when Tank's ex came back to town. Without giving much away, I really liked how the story played out. Montana says she's coming back for her daughter but you gotta believe she wants another shot at Tank. She could have been painted as a totally evil witch-with-a-b but Snow manages to portray her so, so well. Which I'm thankful for because the next book in the series will be about Montana and someone else in town.

The other reason I was so wary of Montana was because I had already fallen in love with Cassie and Tank in the first novel. Their solid friendship was so lovely but you absolutely knew it had to eventually become much, much more than a friendship. While it's admirable to think of the child in the relationship - Cassie had become like a surrogate mother to Tank's daughter - if the pair had been open with each other, they could have avoided a whole lot of heartbreak and slammed doors and runaway daughters. But where's the fun in that, right?

I adore Cassie. She is small and spunky and with a heart of gold that is head over heels in love with Tank. I admired her entrepreneurial spirit and how she worked so hard to do the very best for her business - even when it was hard and made others question her decisions (and really, they were only questioning them because they loved her so much and wanted to keep her safe).

Tank was such a great father - which was refreshing to see in a romance novel. I think the single dad trope is getting stronger so we'll probably start seeing a few more out there. It's not one I'd normally seek out, to be honest, because single parent stories just aren't my jam. (I'm childless for a reason and know what I like when it comes to romance novels. And it doesn't include babies.) But. I liked Tank. Even though he needed to give his head a shake and realize that keeping things buried and Cassie at arm's length was not helping anybody, especially not him.

All in all, Under an Alaskan Sky is just what I like in a romance novel. Jennifer Snow's novel swept me away and I enjoyed every second I spent with Cassie and Tank in Wild River. I'm really looking forward to the third novel, A Sweet Alaskan Fall, so I can get back to the small town to see how everyone is doing.

Tank and Cassie have been friends for a while and now slowly looking for something more. Problem is Cassie is going though with the stress of her business being threatened by a new big name mega store and Tank's ex is back looking to get back into the family.

This was just such an enjoyable contemporary read. It was so sweet seeing how the two were and I love a friend to lovers kinda stories. They already had some backbone to their relationship and them getting together just made sense. I loved that the daughter also liked Cassie but there was conflict now that the mother is around. The ex was a wild card and anything could happen, she could start big time drama, back off or just about anything and I was curious too see what would become of that. Then there was the store that was opening up that could pose a problem for Cassie and she may need to bump up her game if she wants her business from going belly up. Theres a bit of family issues, healing, romance just a bit of everything to keep this book interesting and I really enjoyed it.

Cassie owns an adventure sports business in Wild River. She's been in love with Tank for years while helping him care for his 11 year old daughter, Kaia. Tank has been a single parent for nearly the entirety of Kaia's life after her mother (Montana) left both of them when she was practically a newborn. Cassie and Tank are desperately in love with one another. Cassie is ready to make their relationship official but Tank is afraid to make that leap. He hesitates because of the dangerous nature of both of their jobs. Tank owns the local bar and he's a big part of the Wild River Search and Rescue team. Both he and Cassie put their lives on the line nearly every day, and he doesn't want Kaia to grow up having lost both of her parents.

Things I liked: the Alaskan setting, the outdoor sports, the scenes involving the Search and Rescue, the secondary characters, Tank's daughter Kaia, and Diva the dog

So basically I liked the same things about this book that I liked about the previous book, An Alaskan Christmas. I think the author has done a great job in creating a setting and friend group that is interesting, and the little details (like Diva the dog!) are also great. Still, I find myself feeling fairly middle-of-the-road about the Wild River books so far.

I really like Cassie and Tank and this book has a great ending, but it is really frustrating to watch Tank's indecision about taking that leap with Cassie. For as big and tough as he is, he's straight-out afraid of having a real romantic relationship with her because he thinks the risks are just too high. There is so much back and forth in this story. I would have loved to see the romantic relationship begin early in the book so I could spend some time observing Cassie and Tank as a couple. As it stands, they spend the majority of the book in limbo.

Sidenote: Tank's ex Montana shows up early on in what I thought would be a love triangle situation. After finishing the book, though, I hesitate to call all of their drama a triangle. Montana has her reasons for being away from her daughter for 10 years, and she has reasons for showing up out of nowhere. It's a little bit strange that Montana befriends Cassie and they have a whole side-plot thing going on involving Cassie's business. I appreciate the author's ability to write Montana into the story without making her the big reason things are complicated with Cassie and Tank. I think Montana has way more page time than she really needs in this installment, but I think Montana is to be the focus of the next full-length book in this series. So I can see the reason for all of Montana's story set-up. Still, I feel like she took precious page-time away from Cassie and Tank.

Both Cassie and Tank have a close connection with Reid from the previous book in this series. Cassie is Reid's sister, Tank is Reid's best friend. Having read the first book, I was pretty familiar with both Cassie and Tank, but I think this one would also be fine as a standalone. I like the way things ended for Cassie, Tank, and Montana and I'm curious about Montana's place in Wild River. Tank's daughter Kaia and Cassie's dog Diva were my favorite things about this story.

I really enjoyed this book! I was really excited to read Tank and Cassie's story after reading about them in the first book in the Wild River series. This book didn't disappoint. I really like Jennifer Snow's writing style, it keeps me reading and engaged. Recommended!

This book was ok. The storyline is unique with an Alaskan extreme sports theme. I did enjoy the book mostly but some aspects were annoying to me- like the relationships among the characters. This is the first novel that I have read by this author and I may consider reading another one of her books in the future given the opportunity. I would recommend this as a beach/vacation read. It gets a little risqué, so be aware of that before you read it!

I really enjoyed this book! It is the second book in the ‘Wild River’ series by Jennifer Snow, but I feel like you don’t necessarily have to read the first book before reading this one. This book follows Tank and Cassie through a rollercoaster of unexpected events! There were quite a few surprises that I really enjoyed. Even though there were some steamy parts, I don’t think they were as frequent as they were in the first book!

I found these characters to be very relatable and I quickly connected with all of the again! I would definitely recommend this book to my friends!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced digital copy of this book!

Thank you NetGalley, Harlequin and Jennifer Snow for lending me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
After Tank Wheeler’s ex left him and their daughter, making him a single dad overnight, Tank Wheeler swore he wouldn’t love another woman other than this daughter ever again. This promise is shattered when the chemistry between Tank and his best friend Cassie Reynolds can’t be ignored. Add a hot birthday kiss into the miss and friendship suddenly seems like not enough. Cassie has spent the last five years creating a wilderness business from the ground up, but all of that is suddenly threatened when a mega-store rolls into town. Add Tank’s ex and mother to his child into the mix, ready to reclaim her family, and you have got.. Well you have a mess.
I know that with these kinds of books we as readers are supposed to want the main characters together, but I found myself pretty annoyed with Tank for the first half of the book. I understand that the situation was tricky and he had more than himself to think about, but I couldn’t help being frustrated with all of his back and forth. I just felt like Cassie deserved someone who knew that they wanted her, you know? I didn’t read book one in this series so maybe that’s totally my fault and I wou;d’ve loved this book, but as it is, it was just kinda meh for me!

Tank and Cassie have been in this "will they, won't they" pattern for years and as soon as it seems like they will, Tank's past comes crashing in and he has to confront the fact that he's never really let Cassie get to know him. Throw in a disapproving daughter and a new business rival in town and you've got Under An Alaskan Sky.

This book was messy, but I am here for it! I adore these characters and it was so much fun to return to Wild River. Diva totally stole the show (and was responsible for my tears at the end of the book.)

Thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley for my eARC to review.

I quickly fell for Wild River in the first book in the series and I was so happy to be back getting to see Cassie and Tanks relationship unfold.

I really loved how much of Reed and Erika we saw (I always miss past characters when the main characters in books shift) and I thought the drama was believable without being over the top. I got so frustrated with Tank on Cassie's behalf which is a nod to what the author was able to make me feel.

I enjoyed that the ending was sweet without being too much. I was a little annoyed with how many times we had to read that Cassie's lips tasted like coconuts but that's a minor issue.

It was great to read about some of my favourite characters from An Alaskan Christmas. You do not have to have read that book to enjoy this one, but we meet these characters in the first book in the series and I was pleased to read their story.

Tank, the owner of the Drunk Tank, the only bar in town, is afraid. Cassie is his best friend and he's desperately afraid to lose her. Not just as his best friend, but as the role model he depends on to help him with his ten-year-old daughter, Kaia. He is afraid to take the next step, he is also unaware of how Cassie feels about him. Cassie is sure that they belong together and after five years, she's tired of waiting. She is ready to take the next step, but when his ex-girlfriend and Kala's mom shows up in town, she is not sure what to do. Not only is she dealing with her feelings for Tank, but a new company has opened in town in direct competition with Cassie's business. With their opening specials undercutting her prices, she has all kinds of cancellations and is worried that her business might not survive. Will anything work out for Cassie?

I love the characters of Cassie and Tank. Cassie is a woman who seems to put everyone else first. She loves Kala and Tank, but is willing to put her happiness on the back burner in order to stay in their lives. She gives people back their deposits when they cancel trips and excursions and even befriends Tank's ex. Tank is the strong, silent type. He has a lot of baggage from his past, as well as the hurt from his previous relationship. He loves Kala with all his heart, and does not want anything to change that. He is keeping secrets and if he doesn't grab onto Cassie now, he might just lose her. Kala is a child, so you can expect a certain amount of spoiled, childish behaviour, but she did make me angry at times. I enjoyed this slow building romance, that had to deal with roadblocks and hurdles along the way. There were a few graphic sex scenes which I did fast forward through as that is not my interest, but they did not ruin the story for me. There is a lot to this story including, the danger of keeping secrets, having faith in others, taking a risk but keeping physically safe, love, loyalty, forgiveness and acceptance. I enjoyed this visit to Wild River, Alaska and reading Cassie's and Tank's story. Of course there is a HEA, but the journey to that point was an interesting and heartbreaking one.

I didn't read book 1 in the series and it wasn't necessary to read this one.

Tank and Cassie have been friends for a long time and though there's an obvious attraction between them, Tank won't let anything more happen between them. He's got lots of issues and Cassie is very patient with him. Between his 10-year-old daughter, and this business, and the rescue team, and training Cassie's dog, he's busy.
Then we have Cassie who's been waiting for him and wanting more. When Tank's ex comes into town, that puts more issues between Cassie and Tank.

I found the story a bit too long. It's also not clean. Why all the language? Do people really talk like that, S-word and F-word in almost every sentence? So unnecessary. There's also descriptive sex.

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

This was a sweet story and it was wonderful to see the evolution of characters as their eyes were opened about a relationship right in front of them. I loved the setting and the opening scene was unforgettable. Highly recommend!
