Friends working together undercover, find out feelings are strong, hot and heavy. Overall, a quick and easy read, but may be my age (50+), but had a hard time relating to the main characters, and struggled at times to be interested in their romance. Would still recommend though, as I liked it enough to see how it ends.

3.5 Stars!

The combination of best friends, a famous grandmother, and the perils of being an operative, creates "While You Were Spying" by Stina Lindenblatt. A captivating beginning drew me into this suspenseful romance, with characters that are interesting, caring and distinctive. This is the first book from the author's brand new series Love Undercover, and it can be read as a standalone.

3.5-3.75 stars. This was a cute book. While You Were Spying is Jayden and Isabelle's friends to lovers story. Jayden and Isabelle are good friends who work together. They both work for a security firm, where Jayden is a security guard/investigator and Isabelle runs the office. She is itching to work out in the field and has been training in the hopes that she will get an assignment. Jayden is fiercely and vocally against this for her. He doesn't think she is tough enough or can hack it, but he is also worried she will get hurt. But then Isabelle's grandmother's friend, a man who runs a couples resort, needs an undercover investigator to find a thief on his resort property. Isabelle gets her chance to take the case with Jayden acting as her husband. The two go undercover to investigate and soon find that the resort is more like a couples therapy retreat, complete with mandatory classes and sex therapy. Lines get blurred, their relationship gets complicated and they soon find themselves falling for each other.

I enjoyed this book. It was a relatively light, easy read with some cute and funny moments. The mystery was a little convoluted, hard to follow, and at times not believable. But there is a fun story, a cute couple, kooky characters and funny circumstances. I liked Jayden and Isabelle. I didn't totally love how against Isabelle wanting to be a security investigator Jayden was. He was a little rude about that. But I did think they ended up being a good match who had fallen for each other without even knowing it, while they were friends. I did think they were a bit lacking in chemistry, but I wasn't too bothered.

Overall, this was a fun read. I enjoyed Jayden and Isabelle's story. This series seems like it's going to be a good one and I look forward to reading more.

They are best friends and trying to keep the friends - lovers line separate is harder than they think.
Can there relationship between them remain platonic? Or will the chemistry and love between them prevail?

This book is Hot, Steamy, Sexy and with a lot of agent sex appeal.
I absolutely loved these characters and the love they have building between them and their sexual attraction.

This book is a complete page turner

This is a first for me this author and book and I definitely wasn't disappointed, I enjoyed this book immensely.

Isabelle has a dream of becoming an agent it's all she's ever wanted and as confident as she is she doesn't let anything get in her way.
Jayden is Isabelle's best friend and hates the thought of her doing anything of the like, especially his kind of work, he's worried about her safety and going into the field is dangerous he should know. All Jayden wants is to keep her by his side as difficult as this may be.
Isabelle needs to go undercover in a resort the only problem is that she needs a partner, her only option is her best friend Jayden.
They go undercover as a happily married couple for the mission to try and get the job done. They experience a hell of a lot along the way.

UFFF!! I HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME READING THIS, this was so so so so so hot, sexy and just so fun to read, I love the fake dating (in this case marriage) trope, it’s one of my favourite tropes out there and the author did it so so so well.

I totally cannot wait till the next book in the series comes out, no doubt it will be as great as this one was

This was slow going for me at first but still kept me interested. The bantering between Isabelle and Jayden was entertaining and made me laugh. Their first mission together was intriguing, fun and heats things up between them. This is a good friends to lovers romance that I enjoyed.

I’m at a loss on what to say about this one. Usually, I love books by this author. And this one did start off strong, but then it lost my interest and I skipped around and just read bits and pieces. I couldn’t get back into it.
I’m giving this one 3.5 stars.
Maybe you will like this one.

While You Were Spying is quite light in tone for a series about former special ops soldiers turned private contractors. It's kind of a RomCom/Romantic Suspense hybrid. It's full of tropey goodness - friends to lovers, fake relationship, only one bed, workplace romance. I found it a fun, quick read even though it didn't blow me away.

I enjoyed the chemistry between Jayden and Isabelle and the way that everyone around them knew how they felt before they figured it out for themselves. I loved Isabelle's meddling grandmother and her friends, as well as the other Quade Security operatives.

I just felt like the mystery plot could have wrapped up more efficiently. Some of the connections could be cleaner and there's a character that didn't need to be tied in. I also didn't like the way one of the villains was handled. Still, I liked the characters and look forward to reading about the rest of the guys on the team.

Love Undercover is a spinoff from another of Lindenblatt's series. Jayden and Isabelle and Liam, the head of their agency, all appeared in previous books. This is my first book from her though and I didn't have any trouble reading it as a standalone. It was more that I kept thinking, "I bet they had their own book already" when Liam and his wife were mentioned. I may have to check out their story while I wait for the next in this series.

3.5 stars

Jayden and Isabelle are a favorite couple of mine. They’ve been friends for two years and neither one of them will acknowledge the heat that’s been building between them. Until Isabelle brings a case to Quade Security that she wants to investigate herself. Jayden isn’t crazy about her being in the field so he agrees to go along with her to pose as her husband.
It’s funny to watch them as they’re forced to interact as a married couple. It gets more interesting as it gets a little dangerous for both Jayden and Isabelle. You won’t want to miss how it all plays out.
Definitely 5 stars!

I have not read anything previously by this author and that is now a mistake I plan to fix, as this one little gem of a book has me hooked!!!

I freaking loved this book and it was so not what I was expecting. It was funny, swoony, romantic, hot, exciting and so much more. I loved Isabelle and Jayden from the get-go and I cannot recommend this book enough.

I don't want to give too much away as the blurb is pretty self-explanatory. All I can see is bring on book 2!!!

I enjoyed this read. It has some issues but overall it was good. I liked the characters and thought they were pretty well developed. I also liked Isabelle as a heroine. I would definitely read more of this series. Thank you to netgalley for the arc.

I enjoyed the concept of this book. However, I felt it struggled between being a romantic suspense and a romantic comedy. I appreciated how the heroine built up her skills to be taken seriously as an operative. I liked how they were friends who came together naturally and not because one of them had been pining for the other forever. I look forward to reading more about this crew

Overall, this was a fun and funny novel. The lighthearted love story was told with a fun mystery/crime twist that kept me entertained. The novel did have some slow moments but overall, the flow was nice. I would have liked to see the Isabelle prove herself as an operative better than she did. While she did great in the paintball ring, when it came to real life, she was lacking. Overall, a good read that I would recommend to someone looking for a lighthearted romance with added humor.

A big thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. This is the beginning of a new series, and it seems like it will be a blast! Best friends to lovers book. But it's super fun and cute. Many surprises along the way. Jayden and Isabelle have lots of connection and conflicts. The place they go could save marriages! Lol. 4 stars. I think most readers who enjoy contemporary romance will enjoy.

Ah Isabelle and Jayden! What a lovely story the pair of you made.
Best friends Isabelle and Jayden work for the same company. Isabelle works in the office, desperate for a life of work on the field. Jayden is an ex marine working with his team of intelligence operatives. He is dead set against Isabelle becoming an operative and putting her life in danger where as she is quite determined to prove to the team she is more than capable to become one of them. A case comes up courtesy of Isabelles gran that involves the pair going to a resort undercover as a married couple but as the pair delve deeper into the case it becomes apparent that all isn't as it seems with the case.
This is my first book by Stina and I'm looking forward to reading her other works. This rom com had the whole package for me, laughs, drama, intrigue and some saucy moments. I loved the chemistry the pair had and how well the team worked. It had me engaged from the beginning right untill the end and I love how the book ended. I especially loved Isabelles granny and her pals they were a riot. Can't wait for the next book

Isabelle runs the office for some (ofcourse hot) security guys and wants to be an operative herself. If only she would get a chance. That chance presents herself through her grandmother. She is going undercover in a posh resort, together with Jayden, whom she has had a crush on but is also a good friend. They are enrolled in a course with some pretty hot assignments... and things get hot.

I really like this author. She writes well and I like the tropes of 'friends-to-lovers' and 'fake-marriage'. Apart from the fact that there were some hot moments between Isabelle and Jayden, the storyline was a bit thin. Isabelle wants to prove herself an agent, but it never really showed did it?
Further, Jayden and Isabelle are supposed to be friends in the beginning. Maybe I needed a bit more on that subject, as they did not come across as really close? Overall I might have liked it better if they had been enemies-to-lovers? Having to do those assignments...

Overall a good book. 3,5 stars.

I received an advanced reader's copy of While You Were Spying (Love Undercover Book 1) by Stina Lindenblatt from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had been fortunate enough to read another novel by Stina Lindenblatt previously that I liked with a cowboy and an heiress, but I was excited and eager to read While You Were Spying and jump into the world of spies.

Overall, I felt this was a solid romance and I found it to be well written. I especially liked the primary and secondary characters' interactions and found their banter to be amusing with a fast moving plot. Plus it was just neat to see the operatives' work....and work their hot chemistry.

All in all, While You Were Spying by Stina Lindenblatt was a quick, fun read and I would recommend it for any romance fan.

Firstly, I received this for an honest review!
Secondly, wow! What a really cool book. I’m not one for spies, FBI or military reads, but I’m a sucker for this one. On a surprise assignment two best friends are put together as a fake couple to find a thief. Going to couples cooking class and sex talks is one sure way to get over you hidden feelings.
The characters in this made me laugh out loud from the dog, to granny and the team. This couple is adorable. Ideally want to read more from this author.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

This was entertaining as I enjoyed the intrigue part of it but it seemed a bit far-fetched if you really think through the interconnecting parts! Even with that, I did enjoy the book.

Isabelle wants to be an agent and Jayden and the rest of the guys are ready to move her from office manager. When they have to go undercover as a married couple, it does get pretty hot as they are in close contact and their assignments involved sex.

While Isabelle and Jayden were not my most favorite characters, the book is an enjoyable read. At times, it seemed long so if you want a quick read, this is not it.

Probably my favorite character is Isabelle's grandmother - she was not your sweet old lady type!

After they finally resolve their conflicting issues, we get a HEA for Isabelle and Jayden.

Meh, not for me. Overly predictable story, bland characters, and a rediculous set up. Isabelle wanted to be taken seriously but acted childishly, and didn't really seem to prove herself (at least IMO she never really showed how, strong of an operative she was). Also I didn't really feel the best friend connection. Just didn't work for me overall.
