I love books about the Enneagram and this is a great one, especially if you are just getting started. It starts with a well thought out quiz that was pretty accurate in my eyes. It then goes into more detail for each type and I felt it was the perfect amount of information.

Lastly there were combinations of each types for home, romantic relationships, and work which is where I did learn some new information. I found that it was like there were cameras in my house for the combinations of 7's and 9's (my husband and I) and there were definitely some things to consider there.

This isn't really a book that you would normally read all the way through since you will mostly be focusing on your number and the numbers of your close friends and family, but I find it a great introduction to learning about your enneagram number and how to relate with those around you.

So I was loving this book, but only until chapter 3. I absolutely loved how it breaks down and helps you do the physical test to find your number. So easy to understand and get to your answer. But then it goes into how to never guess another persons number. Or do the test for them. And yet the second half of the book is all how your specific number works with others in regards to work, love life, etc. so for someone like me, and maybe I am an outlier, whose husband doesn’t care about this and won’t take a test, the second half of the book was truly a waste of time. Maybe think of changing the title of the book? Very misleading. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book is a brief introduction to the Enneagram.

It includes a test to help you find your type, overviews of each of the 9 types, and breakdowns of how each type relates to every other type in work, home, and relationship contexts. That's pretty much the whole book.

I would say the majority of the book is taken up in sections explaining how type two and type five get along at work, how type two and type six get along at work, how type two and type seven-- all the way through the many permutations. This is mildly helpful, but only if you know your friends', coworkers', and relatives' Enneagram numbers. The overall introduction of the system at the beginning is more a definition of terms than anything else.

This book saves you the work of clicking through seventeen web pages to find what you're looking for, but in reality it gives you the same exact information you could find online. If you're looking for anything more in-depth than a quiz and a brief profile, I would avoid paying money for this book and instead look elsewhere.

This is a great book that contains a multitude of information on the enneagram, from the basics to how they work in relationship to each other. I found it particularly helpful to be able to look at how the different types relate to each other in work and in romantic settings.

There are many books on this topic. I haven't read them, but this is quite good. It covers a lot of ground including work and relationships. It also covers the value of this system. Particularly if you know nothing about it, this will be a good resource for you.

Thanks very much for the ARC for review!!

The Enneagram Test is well beloved in my office- one of my peers enthusiastically sends it out to every person who hasn't taken it yet. It helps us understand one another better, to grasp the reasons for people's sometimes mysterious actions, and to figure out how to best recognize others for their contributions. It's like a work-friendly Love Languages test-- and my coworker will enthusiastically recommend it as the perfect model. This book is more towards those who are new to The Enneagram Method, offering an introduction and then a dive into the functions of the test. It even offers an Enneagram test you can use for yourself at the beginning-- though I recommend taking a more advanced test online, or better yet, take the test from a professional proctor. That way, you're less likely to answer with bias, and find your true number. I didn't find anything new in this book-- but don't let that scare you away from the book, if you're a newbie. To those well versed in the method, it's not going to be anything new or interesting-- but for those who are new to it, and want to dip their toes in, it's a good asset.

The Enneagram seems to be everywhere these days. This was a good introduction with lots of information. Not the most enjoyable read but it was informative.

The beginning of this book gives a good introduction to the enneagram. Most of the book is about the relationships between different types, which is interesting in theory, but almost impossible to put into use as the author even says not to try to type other people.

A good introduction to the Enneagram, with a multi-part quiz to help determine your number and some good explanations of how that plays out in various aspects of your life (work, family, times of stress, etc.). A significant portion of the book is dedicated to how the various Enneagram types relate to each other, which was interesting but ultimately not very helpful unless you happen to know the types of the people you interact with (and Gomez says explicitly that you can't determine other people's types via the quiz).

Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first introduction to the enneagram world. It was recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad I had the opportunity to read more into it and learn about the different numbers. It's insightful and informative.

A physical copy of this book would benefit someone more to be able to properly take the tests involved. One note I will say is for the parts relating to how you interact with other numbers, you need to know their number.. which a lot of people I know don't know theirs.

I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone hoping to learn more about personality types and enneagrams!

Thank you netgalley and Simonandschuster publishing for an advanced ebook copy for review.

However at this time, I don’t think I can give this book a completely fair review. As I definitely think this is a book where you need the physical copy to take the quizzes and to completely understand.

I was able to get a ton of useful information out of the book though and I will definitely be buying a physical copy when the book is released. So that I can fully understand and can come back to update this review.

earc from netgalley.

this book is very informative, it seems better suited to be a book you pick up sometimes, instead of reading all the way through, based on all it has to say.

I was not familiar with the theories behind the Enneagram, but I am interested in personality types. This book gives an excellent overview of the nine personality types. The first part was particularly interesting, but the second part doesn’t make a lot of sense when you don’t know the enneagram number of the people around you.

The Enneagram has become quite popular in the last couple of years and I've always been quite interested to know which one I am so was quite happy when I saw this book up on NetGalley!

I found this book to be incredibly informative, especially for someone who had no real background on the different Enneagram types. This book is engaging and it was interesting to see how spot on the information was in terms to my own type.

Definitely worth a read if your interested in Enneagram's!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I just recently found out about the Enneagram and this book was a great way to extend my knowledge. This is a path to understanding yourself that I will continue to explore.

A friend recently mentioned the concept of enneagrams, and I was interested to learn more. Just a couple of days later, this book popped up on NetGalley. Perfect timing! Having read through it, I've now learned a lot about what an enneagram is, and also what it isn't. I did find some striking similarities between my enneagram type and who I really am, which is always fascinating. I'm never really sure if I truly believe in stuff like this or if I read about these ideas as more of a novelty. Either way, this book was definitely an interesting read.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC. This review contains my honest, unbiased opinion.

I was interested in this book since I am currently taking a class on the Enneagram and the creative process and I wanted to see how this book compared to what we were discussing in class. My class is taught by a certified instructor and I found everything in this book aligned with the information she presented in class. I even took the tests at the beginning of the book and my results matched with my Enneagram number. Everything is presented in an easy to understand, easy to follow format; so this book is perfect for those new to the Enneagram.

My one note would be that there are sections in the book for people to better understand how the number interacts with other numbers in a family, romance, and work environment. These sections are helpful, but only if the reader knows the other person's number. Most of the people in my circle have never heard of the Enneagram, or if they have, they have not gone through the process to find out their number. In my case, the first portion of this book was quite helpful, but the following sections didn't provide any additional insight. With that said, I would still recommend this book, especially for the test in the front. For those that do not have time to take a 9 week, 2-hour long class on the Enneagram, these tests are perfect for getting someone on the path to better understanding themselves.

I received a free e-ARC copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Discovering my Enneagram type last year was one of the most eye-opening and freeing experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve learned more about myself over the past year than I ever have before. I’ve read several books on the Enneagram, so I was curious to see what new information would be in The Enneagram and You. While I didn’t find anything new, this book is an excellent starting point for anyone wanting to learn what their Enneagram type is and how it relates to all aspects of their lives. Because I was reading this on a Kindle, many of the diagrams and quizzes were difficult to see clearly, but I’m sure the finished book will be beautiful and clear. I would recommend this book to anyone starting out on their journey to learn more about themselves through the Enneagram.

This book covers everything you need to know about the The Enneagram which is an ancient personality system comprised of 9 different personality types. It shows you why you have the personality traits you do, what’s motivating your behaviours, how to approach conflict, and how best to interact with others. There is a quiz included that will help you determine which of the 9 personality types you fall under. I really liked that this was included because it's difficult to find free reputable Enneagram quizzes online. What's great about this, is that you can have your family and friends do the quiz as well. You can then see by reading the many chapters in this book how your personality type interacts with your family and friend's personality types as well, showing areas of strength and areas of improvement that will ultimately help you make the most out of your relationships.

The Enneagram can help you develop more self-awareness that will nurture more self-love, mindfulness, and compassion. When you’re able to better understand yourself, you can make better choices that will empower you, instead of you questioning and critiquing yourself to death because you think there is something wrong with who you are.

Overall I thought this was a good concise book on The Enneagram that I would recommend to anyone who is curious about this system.
