Wow. I’m not normally one for urban fantasy (or fantasy at all to be honest) but this hooked me! I had to preorder the book immediately and I’ll be patiently waiting for it to be delivered. This is the first book by Maas I’ve read and her writing is incredibly engaging. It’s hard not to get sucked into this one!

Filled with the distictive Maas golden touch.
Already enthralled by Bryce and her world.
Crescent City is already a place I want to spend a lot of time in.

Just read the excerpt of five chapters and it looks promising.
There were too many names of cities I couldn't keep up with, too many titles and too many supernatural beings I couldn't keep up with too. But I enjoyed myself a bit, I'll like to finish it when it comes out.

It was intriguing but not enough for me but I'm definitely hopeful because I love Sarah J Maas.

The first five chapters are addictive. Sarah J. Maas is an incredible author already, but House of Earth and Blood is where she's able to thrive.

As a fan of Maas' previous books, I was highly looking forward to her new adult Crescent City series! The excerpt was long enough to hook my interest, and short enough to leave me begging for more. I cannot wait until the title is released!

This was great! I'm a huge fan of Sarah J. Maas and it's sp exciting to be reading a new work by her in a whole new world. I did have a bit of trouble getting myself into the new setting, but I found it very refreshing to be reading her style in a new way. I can't wait to get my hands on the finished book soon!

I like how different this book seems from her usual books - its got a modern feel. That's also part of the reason I didn't enjoy this so much, though. It shows a lot of potential and I can't wait for the release tomorrow! It is supposed to be New Adult, though, so I think there's going to be a lot of scenes I skip over. I wasn't that absorbed into the book with these first few chapters, but I'm hopeful!

This was a great appetizer for a much anticipated book. I look forward to reading House of Earth and Blood on March 3.

I like SJM and was excited to read her new adult novel "House of Earth and Blood". This excerpt did not disappoint, and left me on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what's to come. Definitively moving it way up on my TBR!

I'm only 5 chapters in and already so absorbed in Bryce's world in Crescent City! Sarah J Maas is a master storyteller, seamlessly building dynamic characters and an incredible world right from the start. I received an excerpt of the first 5 chapters in advance, and in true SJM fashion, it ended on a HUGE cliffhanger. So now I'm dying to pick up my copy tomorrow and see what happens next!

Maas has a penchant for writing incredibly sassy, badass heroines, and Bryce Quinlan is no different. Bryce is a 23-year-old just living life to the fullest. She loves to party, drink, and get high with her friends, particularly her best friend Danika. She has a mediocre job she doesn't love, but don't all recent college grads?

There is danger lurking in the shadows of Crescent City. The city's leadership doesn't seem to be taking it very seriously. But after an event that will change Bryce's life forever, they may not have a choice.

I plan to inhale this book the minute I get it, and have no doubts it will live up to the hype! All of SJM's past books have taken place in more of a medieval fantasy setting. but this one is a modern slant where the characters attend college and have phones, taxis, etc. I can't remember the last modern fantasy story I read, so I'm really excited to see what she does with the genre!

This is also Maas' first adult novel, and I can already see the little differences. So far this includes more explicit language, and drug use which I don't remember seeing in her other novels.

Why does Sarah just know what I want and how to take it all from me!! I really didn't want this to be good because a 800+ page book is gonna take some time but then she went and did this! I read the excerpt and it just I need more! How are they gonna end it on that!?! I needed to Connor!
