I love Lindsay Currie's latest book! After reading Shady Street, I was excited to see that she has come out with something new. Scritch Scratch is a great, creepy story that sheds light on the little known tragic event of the SS Eastland. Not only is this a good "scary story", it has a good plot to go along with it. Meaning, the main character dealing with feelings of her best friend moving on without her, struggles with her dad's work embarrassing her, etc. This will be a huge hit with the scary book fans at my school. Shady Street is already hugely popular and this will be just as liked. Excited to bring this to upper elementary students.

Creepy goodness!! I’m so incredibly grateful to Lindsay and her publisher for sharing a digital arc with me through Netgalley. The way Lindsay infused so much of Chicago’s history into her beautiful, captivating writing was simply wonderful. This MG novel is filled with a mysterious ghost, a struggling friendship, a first crush, and so much more. You’ll definitely want to get your hands on this one in September. Better yet, preorder now!

Scritch Scratch! Those two words send goosebumps down my spine each time I think of them. I can imagine someone scritch scratching to try to get my attention, just as the wet boy in the white suit tried to get Claire to listen to him. Just the right amount of spooky with history mixed in makes me want to hop in the car and visit haunted historic Chicago. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to be an early reader and thanks to Lindsey Curry for selecting me to be part of the street team.
