This was a quick read and kept me engaged to want to find out who did what. At the same time, some pieces just didn’t quite add up. Laura is over the top emotional - yes, she just had a baby, but if she would just speak to her husband without constantly thinking he doesn’t understand her, a lot of her problems could’ve been avoided. Harry is a one dimensional boss whose motivations are unclear. The ending would’ve probably been better if it hadn’t attempted to give a resolution to everyone’s situation.

Ok, whats with complex women and their secrets?! This is the 5th book that I’ve read in that category and this sure lives upto expectations!
Three woman, one secret which will take them down. Blindly go in and trust me, you’ll be sucked in from the beginning. I really liked the relationship and link between the characters and the suspense they hold. The story flow is engaging, suspenseful and kept me guessing how the suspense would break. The story flow alters between past and present, but its really contributing to the plot. This is my first Heidi Perks book and it won’t be the last!

This is my second Heidi Perks book that I have read, and I think she may be a new favorite author. This story of three women and their secrets is captivating and suspenseful. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

The story begins as an advertising agency building is burning to the ground and a body is being removed from the scene. The story then flashes back in time to weeks before the fire when Laura, an ad executive, returns to work after maternity leave to find her temporary replacement, Mia, making herself a permanent fixture in Laura's workplace. Tensions brew, and the boss's wife, Janie, becomes involved in the drama that unfolds. Throughout the story, the reader is trying to figure out what these women are hiding and who started the fire that brings down the agency.

I found the characters interesting and complex. For a good bit of the story, I struggled to determine how each character connected to the others and why they seemed to have it in for each other. There was something in the past that was causing the tensions, and it was fun as a reader to try to decipher what that was. I was unable to guess the culprit until the reveal, which made me very happy. I do not like a thriller in which I can predict the outcome too early on.

The narrative devices used by the author help to create suspense and keep the reader engaged. While the point of view remains third person throughout, the narrator focuses on the thoughts and feelings of each female character at different times in the book. This allows the reader to see each of their perspectives. The story also shifts from the past to present every few chapters. In the present, a detective is interviewing witnesses and suspects about the fire. I thought this was a great suspense building technique.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I like how the story unfolds, and I am satisfied with how it ends. I would definitely recommend this to readers that like a good mystery aspect to their thrillers.

Unfortunately I had to put this book down at about 37%. This too me was not much of a psychological thriller and I’m totally disappointed because I really enjoyed Her One Mistake also written by Heidi Perks. There just wasn’t much thrill to the book. The first 37% was about Laura who returns to work after maternity leave to find out the temp she’s hired to go for her has now been made permanent and given Laura’s biggest account. Maybe it gets better further into the book but when I have 300+ other books I could be reading I felt I needed to move on.

Three Perfect Liars starts off strong with an unknown woman watching a beautiful glass office building burn to the ground in southern England. As the woman lifts her hands to her face she smells the fuel she used to set the fire. The identity of the mystery woman as well as her reasons for setting the blaze encompass the remainder of the novel.

The story is told from multiple perspectives by three women, all of whom have a close connection to the business, an advertising company owned by Harry Wood. There is Janie Wood, a former defense barrister, who gave up her career to move to the area with her husband Harry and their daughters. Laura, a longtime employee of the firm who is desperately trying to find her footing upon returning from maternity leave after having her first child. Mia, is a young temp who was hired by Laura to be a placeholder while Laura was on leave. When Laura returns to work she finds that Mia has quickly taken her place in the office in ways that she never expected.

As Laura desperately tries to compete with the younger and childless Mia, she begins to suspect that there is more to Mia than meets the eye. The reader learns that Mia has a deeply personal reason for working at the company and that she is determined to exact revenge for a family member.

The book touches on a lot of timely issues such as bullying in the workplace, the cost women pay for being mothers while retaining their careers, and the price of revenge. The characters are all well developed and their feelings and motivations are for the most part understandable. With the fire at its center, the book takes place in alternating time periods before and after the fire including police interviews with the main characters.

Overall the book is well written, but I found the pacing to be a bit slow. I liked Laura and most especially Janie but I thought the Mia was a bit over the top. Perhaps because I am an attorney myself I I could identify with Janie Wood's ability to emotionally distance herself from her clients and their actions. Ultimately I felt that Mia's anger was misplaced and childish. This book is a good example of women being all too willing to blame one another for the sins of a man. Janie's legal training certainly came in handy at the end of the book and her kindness was more than I think Mia deserved.

The author does a nice job of tying up all of the loose ends but somehow I was left with the feeling that the ending wasn't quite as satisfying as it could have been. Ultimately, I do think the book is worth a read as it was quite engrossing.

I found myself unable to be engaged in this story of three women with deep backstories that mesh together and cause a True conflagration. I never felt involved or sympathetic to the women.

This book was just okay. A little slow, and the characters felt very underdeveloped to me, but it had an interesting plot and although I was easily able to guess the reveal early on, I still enjoyed it.

Laura heads back to work after maternity leave and her replacement is staying. Laura resents the fact that Mia took over her main client and that she has been hired on permanently. What is Mia's story? What is she hiding? So many secrets, lies, and other stories are revealed in Three Perfect Liars. Such a great book for a summertime read.

Three women all have some secrets. They know there is something up with the others, but they can't be sure. One event finally brings them all together and their lies are finally exposed.

This was a solid mystery, but I wouldn't consider it a thriller. I enjoyed how the chapters ended with transcripts of police interrogations. It kept me hooked and provided perspectives from some minor characters. I made my way slowly through the book. While interesting, it wasn't a book I just couldn't put down. It was a bit drawn out and some parts felt unnecessary to keep the plot moving. Overall, it was a good mystery that could be an exciting thriller with some chapters pared down.

I didn’t find this to be much of a thriller. Mystery? Yes. Thriller? No. I might’ve enjoyed this more if I had lowered my expectations and read it as a simple mystery as to who set the fire. But I was expecting some twisty ending since I saw the ‘thriller’ label on this book. The ending fell flat for me.

This book didn’t really work for me. The three title women, an advertising exec who is back from maternity leave only to find her temp replacement is now permanent, and the agency owner’s wife, a former defense attorney, were people I just didn’t care about. The premise is that one of the people is the likely starter of a fire that burned the ad office down and the story rotates between the previous two months of the women’s lives. It reminded me of Little Fires Everywhere, but without like-able characters.

I wound up skipping some chapters in the middle. Too much about nothing in my book.

While I enjoyed the plot of this story, and the characters, I did not enjoy all the added, unnecessary details. Parts of the story were dragged out. The plot was enjoyable and unlike other books that I have read, but all the unnecessary details were irrelevant to the story.

This book is about three women whose lies are woven together after they witness a fire a successful local business. I like how the story starts at the fire and goes back in time up to when the fire occurs and then the investigation about who the arsonist is. The same three women are all suspects and have told so many lies it is hard to keep the truth straight. You think you know which one did it, I sure thought I did. I was wrong and I think every reader will have the same experience as I did guessing which "she" did. IT IS NOT PREDICTABLE! So many twist and turns.

Cant wait til this book is published, I am buying it! Thanks to Netgalley, the author and publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I am definitely telling other people about this one.

This book was ingenious! I couldn’t put it down. I loved the way the author maneuvered between the characters. I was sad for this book to end. This is a book I would definitely read again!

Three women watch as a body is pulled from an office building fire. All three women have secrets. There’s Laura, who returns from maternity leave to resume a job she loves, only to find out that the temp she hired isn’t going to leave and the CEO is determined to keep her. There’s Mia, the temp, who has become indispensable, but has her own reasons for staying on the job, And, finally, there’s Janie, the wife of the CEO, who has her own secret to protect. None of these women ever expected things to go so horribly wrong.

Three Perfect Liars is a thriller that will certainly grab and keep a reader’s attention. The characters are varied and some, such as Laura, can be somewhat annoying or even aggravating. Others are sympathetic and there are a few that are simply dislikable in every sense of the word.

The story is well-plotted and the pace is solid. There are enough twists to keep the reader guessing almost to the very end. I enjoyed the writing style and the author’s use of different perspectives. All in all, Three Perfect Liars is a well-done and suspenseful read.

When Laura comes back to her high power exec job after maternity leave, she’s dismayed to find that her temporary coverage, Mia, hasn’t left. As Mia takes on more responsibility at the firm, Laura wonders exactly what Mia’s motivations are and if she’s purposely trying to push her out.

I really wanted to enjoy this book, but it didn’t feel that exciting to me. I couldn’t get over that it felt too much like Big Little Lies. There’s an investigation, the interviews are included, you’re not sure who the victim or the perpetrator is until the end... too many similarities. I did like the inner-office politics, but I didn’t get attached to any of the women. Overall, if you enjoyed the Whisper Network and Big Little Lies, this may be the read for you.

For fans of Little Fires Everywhere and Big Little Lies! I loved this book! Drama and thrills! That twist was so good.

So many times as I'm scrolling through NetGalley, a cover will draw my interest before anything else, and this is one of those times. I love the blue and the wisp of smoke with the burned house in the middle, excellent font choice, and interesting title. Hooked.

Laura returns to work after six months of maternity leave only to find her temp replacement, Mia, has not only secured a permanent position within the company, but stolen her biggest account from under her. Laura is convinced Mia's out to get her, in spite of everyone around her suggesting she's obsessed, paranoid, or jealous. What everyone doesn't know, however, is that Mia has a secret, her own motivations for joining the company, and the more Laura persists, the closer she is to losing everything. On the outskirts is Janie, the boss' wife who is connected to both women when the office building is burned to the ground and the three of them watch from the quay.

I wasn't sure about this story, at first, I'll admit it. Despite starting out with intrigue and deception and a series of interviews for the investigation, I was wary of Laura's fixation with Mia and Mia's devious undermining of her position. However, I quickly became engrossed with the story. Laura's difficulty trying to find a work/life balance is so relatable and heartbreaking. Many times in a working mom suspense, you see a woman with superhuman qualities or a washed-over excuse about her lack of time at home. Here, though, we see Laura struggle with her own guilt, Nate's guilt, Nate's blame, and outside pressure in the social realm. Her friends judge her for choosing to re-enter the workforce, and when Mia seemingly takes her place at work, she realizes she's lost somewhere in the middle. Because of this, identity is a central issue here. Where is the place of the woman who wants to work, wants to be home, and doesn't feel like she can adequately give 100 percent in both situations? How do perceptions of women in the workplace affect the domestic sphere and career trajectories? That was such an interesting aspect of her character, and it was refreshing to see a woman struggling and not always succeeding in both worlds.

And while it took a few chapters to get me on board, I loved the way the women's lives entwined. This felt like a Moriarty to me, with subtle and sophisticated mystery wrapped in real-world problems with dire consequences.

Overall, Three Perfect Liars is a well-paced, intricate web of lies with enough to suspense to keep you guessing to the very last page. I'd recommend this for anyone who loves Big Little Lies or workplace thrillers with a dominant female cast.

A tangled web of lies and misdirection that intrigued me till the very end. I loved trying to figure out who had set the fire...and why.

I think it was kind of clear early on. There were little hints sprinkled throughout. Yet I still doubted myself. The focus was on the main three women, and truly any of them could’ve done it.

However, because Mia was clearly hiding something...it was apparent it was something or someone related to her.

It’s a great puzzle, woven wonderfully. I really enjoyed it.
