I just reviewed Charismatic Leadership by Kevin Murray. #CharismaticLeadership #NetGalley
[NetGalley URL] Amazing book that shares some great tidbits of information along the way. The author does a great job of delivering the information in just the right way. I recommend this book who are on the path of learning and being better.

An interesting premise - a well-informed and interesting perspective to how it is possible to influence others at a deep emotional level, to communicate effectively with them and make interpersonal connections.

Recommended.

I'd actually give this book 2.5 stars.

Here's my problem: I'm not sure who the target market is for this book. Though there are good insights, I don't feel there is a market for which it could create true value.

I am a successful entrepreneur (started three companies, sold all three to public companies), I am a public speaker and have led companies from startup to 0uic organizations.

I feel like the author articulated the specifics of what makes a great leader. However, from my perspective there wasn't value in me continuing to read (I stopped 1/3 in). There wasn't anything that provides great value to me. I know weaknesses and strengths, I know how to motivate a team and focus on completing a goal.

So maybe the book is for people who aren't leaders. But I don't think this adds much value to them either, as it isn't focused on specific tools to build.the leadership.characteristics. And not everybody is a company leader.

Maybe it's for company leaders who are really bad at it? I'm not sure. Suffice to say I was looking forward to reading the book but got disappointed within the first 50 pages. I struggled through 1/3 of the book and then realized I just was getting no value and could.make better use of my time.

Thank you to Netgalley for the free copy in exchange for an honest review. I really liked the way this was plotted out, super easy to read and understand along with mini exercises to apply knowledge throughout. It was easy to refer to chapters based on what trait leaders wish to focus on and improve, though I did find the chapters a little repetitive at times. Not bad and full of useful stuff to learn.
