This is actually a new author to me and I'm so glad I was able to read this one. The chemistry between them is off the charts, I thought my kindle was going to melt.

Rick Savage works at Walker Security and his past comes back asking to pay his debt. He left his heart and lover in Houston and now he needs to be back. He has been avoiding his past for a reason and now he will have to be back and face his past.
Candace found her forever love with Rick Savage until he left her without a good bye and 8 years later, she finds out he is back in town. She hasn't been the same ever since he left her but now she is engaged to future senate who has more secrets.
Rick loves Candace but she is someone else's fiancee and he is willing to risk everything to get her back. Now he is willing to do anything to get her back as long as she feels the same way. Plus he has a job to do and everything doesn't sound like simple job.
Walker Security team and Savage will need to protect Candace and her father from his past. It won't be easy but sparks are flying again for Candace and Rick and they are willing to risk for second chance.
It starts with bang and keeps you in suspense until the end.. This is only the first book and it is a page turner and can't wait to get to the next book. I have enjoyed Lisa Renee Jones's books so far and Walker Security alpha males are awesome.

Spicy. Spicy. Spicy. Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book in an exchange for an honest review. I liked the romance but honestly that was all it had going for it. The only thing that kept me going was the sex and to finally get to the end.

Savage and Candace have a history, one that is about to explode all over again.

The relationship between the main characters is developed through previous experience. but you don't feel as though you're missing out on any part of the story as a reader. Lis Renee Jones does a fantastic job creating a story line that keeps you both entertained and sitting on the edge of your seat. Told from dual POV, Savage Hunger is a page turner that gives you all the feels, ones you don't even see coming.

Trigger warnings: there is a form of cheating. I usually do not condone such but in this case there is an explanation to the reasons behind it. One that I cannot elaborate on without spoiling plot points.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to any romance reader who loves a solid alpha male and a heroine who gives as good as she gets.

Brilliant read. I loved the story and most of the characters. I loved how Savage was. 5*.

This story had me hooked from beginning to end! The chemistry and love between Rick (Savage) and Candace is off the chart. The love scene between these two, incredible😉 You have suspense, cockiness, humor, love, alpha male and a feisty female. I especially love how the Walker Security team are there for each other. Having read the other series by Lisa Renee Jones, I was very interested in Rick Savage's story bc I liked his character as a prominent member of a security team created and staffed by former special ops guys. Savage always came across as more sensitive than the others in the previous stories, so it was interesting for me to see him from this aspect with a former flame. Since this is just the first part of his story, I won't get into the plot as much yet, but I will say that I enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next books in his trilogy!

I am really torn with this book. So, I will just write the review. First, you have Candice and Savage they start something until he leaves for the military. She seems like she would have been a woman who would have wanted. Instead of no word and then a letter that tells her to move on. She also hears from her father who happens to be a General in the Army that he is a killer now a mercenary. Thinking she will never see him again she has tried to move on.
Now eight years later a man named Tag shows up where Savage and the men he works with are at. Telling him that he is calling in that favor that is owed to him from years ago. He must go to San Antonio; he does not know the reason why. He finds the reason after being in a bar.
Once the two of them seeing each other he is only wanting to be with her, where she is questioning everything, for now, she is engaged to another man. Though she is not in love with that man she still tells Savage he is the one that walked away from her. One of the problems I had with the story was that it was when of Savage's workmates that told her what his life was about and not him. Mainly the biggest issue I had was Savage just felt over the top as an alpha male and it is not until you are in more than 70% of the book that you start really getting a feel of where the story is going by then it ends and you are to wait for the next book and then another book after that one. So, you must remember to look for the next one if you can remember.

Savage Hunger is a story of a military man who believes his actions means he is no good for the women he loves. He breaks things off thinking its for the best but years later the past comes back and now he must face her again.
Lisa Renee Jones does a great job at putting you inside Rick Savage's head. Letting you know what he is feeling and thinking. You can feel the passion between both Rick and Candace and it burns hot.
The storyline flows nicely and the description in writing allowed me to be able to make a picture in my mind clearly.
The pull to find out what happens next kept me turning the page and reading more. I am interested to see what happens in the following books.

It was a good story with likeable characters, I read it in one sitting because I was intrigued by the plot

Though this is definitely not a standalone, I have to say that the cliffhanger thankfully wasn't bad. LRJ had been a favorite author of mine for a while, so trying this series was low risk for me. I liked both Rick and Candace. They had a past, and though parts of their past were happy, their end was not. It's been years, but Rick is ready to reclaim her. Candace still loves him, but she is stuck in a loveless engagement with a man who threatens everything important to her. She wants to give in and give herself to Rick, but she can't until she can ensure everyone is safe. The story is full of twisted relationships and a good deal of intrigue surrounding the couple's parents. It was a super sexy, and completely held my attention. I'm very curious what's coming next.

Not my first read by the author, the blurb in this is what caught my eye. Dark Romance lover and all! Also forewarning this is a cliffhanger…there are two more books to come.

Now without giving out too much, this is a dark romance…a very ROMANTIC dark romance that has a lot of beautiful scenes as well as sexy, passionate, hateful, love….it kind of is a full dark romance package. I was pleasantly surprised to have really enjoyed this, a lot!

There are back and forth parts, meaning, you get a look of the past and present. The heroine and hero are so beautiful together, when that is torn apart…even a decade can’t keep them apart…even though it just might kill them this time…will they be able to come back together? The cliffhanger is dramatic enough but book #2 takes off right where it ended. That’ll be another review, but definitely would recommend this start!

Couldn’t put this down and I need more Savage, I need more story and I need it now, I really really need to know what happens next. I didn’t like this, I loved it the first in a trilogy and I really cannot wait for the next two books . Entertaining, addictive and pure escapism

I love reading this book. Savage is a badass that loves violence and kicks ass. He has a personality that I just love. He is sexy. Candace hasn’t seen him in a very long time. Is she still in love with him after leaving her? She is being force to marry a man she doesn’t want to be with and is a very brutal man. Does Savage save the day? Is their love between them still? Will have to read it to know what happens. There is a long road between them to fix their relationship if it is fixable. Highly recommend this book. Definitely won’t be disappointed. Another great read.

Rick and Candace's story. Overall a good book, but the language at times felt a little rough, and didn't appreciate the cliff hanger at the end. Prefer more stand alones, even in a series. May just be me. Would still recommend, as I in general like this author and her stories.

I have been waiting for his story for so long and it did not disappoint. While we've seen Savage as the snarky, handsome character in other LRJ books, here we get to see other sides to him. The only downside is having to wait for the other books in the series. Great read!
