I have never read any other books by Robyn Harding before and I was quite captivated by this book. I loved this dark thriller and it kept me on the end of my seat throughout. The approach of writing the story from multiple perspectives was perfect for this story. All of the characters are so utterly human that its hard to know what you should be feeling at times. I could relate to Low and her awkwardness, as well as Jamies desire to have a baby. On some level, I felt bad for Maxime but it was truly hard to feel sympathy for Freya at times. This book basically was a deep dive into human emotions such as jealousy, desire and fear and I think it truly approached it in a unique way. I wasn’t sure how this book was going to end but I was definitely not expecting what I read. This book has intruded me to a new author I certainly plan on learning more about. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

Robyn Harding has done it again! The Swap was one of my most anticipated reads of 2020, and I can honestly say that it is every bit as wonderful as I had hoped it would be. I greedily devoured this one in a single afternoon, so utterly addictive is Ms Harding's storytelling. This is a dark, twisty, and unrelenting read that you will be pulled into from the very first page.

Low is a lonely teen living on an island in the Pacific Northwest when she meets Freya, a complex and enigmatic potter and Instagram personality. Low is immediately enamoured with the older woman, and soon insinuates herself into her seemingly perfect life. When Freya becomes close with another local woman, Jamie, the two women and their husbands form a bond following a night of partner swapping. Low feels that she has been left in the cold, but remains an unsettling presence when it becomes clear that she will not be so easily dismissed.

This novel captivated me from the very start, and is guaranteed to reel you into its tangled web of secrets, deceptions and intrigue. Highly recommended.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Canada for this fabulous ARC.
