This is the second book in the Canyon Creek series, and it keeps getting better. This book focuses on Erin, a woman who is living in a guest house on Parker’s family’s land.

Erin is a private person, clearly hiding something from her landlord and now good friend. She is hiding from her abusive husband and trying to get her divorce finalized before he finds her.

I don’t do spoilers, so you’ll have to read it to see what happens to Erin. She does feel attracted to Matt, Colin’s brother ((Colin is Parker’s boyfriend/fiance) and the book follows the progress of the attraction and Erin’s path to possibly being able to trust a man again.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.’

I LOVE Ms. Bybee's books... LOVE THEM but none have been this good... ever. I think she has written herself into a corner and am wondering how she can do better. Guess we just need to hang around and wait for the next chapter in the tale.

Thanks go to Ms. Bybee, NetGalley and Montlake Romance for the ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

Home to Me is the second book in the Canyon Creek series, I do recommend reading the first book On My Way to You first in order to have a better understanding of all the characters in the story. If you have read the first book, you would have gotten the sense that Erin Fleming was hiding, runny away from something drastic. She was indeed! Moving to Santa Clarita, a small town in California, she was hiding her self away with a new name and identity from a very controlling and abusive husband who will stop at nothing to find her and bring her back to heartless marriage or better yet kill her.
When Erin found comfort in her new life, never did she imaging that she would open herself to have friends or a new love interest in a man that would protect her at all coast! Just when she thought she can have a life she has always hoped for, her life is shook when her husband finds her.
This story may be a trigger to some readers since there is domestic abuse present. Home to Me was an ARC read given to me by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

I must admit that I didn't read the first book in this series, what prompted me to ask for this book was the plot and the theme drawn within the novel.

The protagonist, Erin is a reserved girl, she likes to go unnoticed, but when she's noticed by Matt, a firs fighters, a spark immediately breaks out between the two.
Matt is a sociable person, very outgoing. I mean, the opposite of Erin.

Erin and Matt got to know each other gradually, as friends, they became more than just friends.

Matt understands that Erin is a girl she hardly trusts, probably because of what she went through, so he doesn't strain things.

Matt is willing to do anything to defend Erin from her past, as is his family. Her new life has to be in a safe place to live and feel protected.

Of this novel I appreciated everything, the fragile Erin who very slowly learns to trust people, to open up and be able to talk about her past in this way.
Matt is a sweet and caring boy, the boy that everyone wants.

I also appreciated the secondary, important and supportive characters for Erin and for the purposes of the story.

Catherine Bybee writes in a fluid way and, despite the delicate subject matter covered in the novel, it didn't make it heavy at all, on the contrary.

Congrats to the author, now I'm going to recover the first book.

Vote: 4,5

I'm always a fan of Catherine Bybee as she never disappoints me with her stories. They are always full of heart and suspense.

We met Matt and Erin in My Way to You, book one. In book 1 we were eluded to Erin's past but it was not confirmed nor where are the details there until here in Home to Me. We also knew Matt had a crush on Erin, but weren't sure how that was going to play out.

Every character in this story was so well done. I loved all the interactions and bantering between everyone.

"Yeah, I saw. But what does that have to do with this?"
The timer buzzed with another batch of cookies. These ones were strawberry-filled sugar cookies. "Matt."
"Matt asked for a sugar high?"

I also like that it didn't drag on with Erin pushing Matt away and being a martyr, instead she opened up pretty quickly and trusted others. I liked that there wasn't unnecessary angst. I also liked the sweetness of Matt.

"If you were a tiny bit of a jerk it would be easy to push you away."
Matt batted his eyelashes as if he were a lost puppy looking for scraps at the dinner table. "My mom says I'm a good catch."

All of Matt's family is awesome and I can't wait to get Grace's story. I also hope we eventually get Austin's story as well. He seems like such a great character. But Grace's strength and loud personality will give whomever she ends up with a run for their money. But I think the journey is going to be with it.

Sure there was some predictability with this story but there was still enough to pull you through. It ended with no loose ends which I appreciate. Liked the story and loved Erin and Matt together.

"Your dreams should be a testament to who you are now. Maci was a victim. Erin is a fighter."

Home to Me is the second book in the Creek Canyon series. This is a series of interconnected standalones with different narrators. These books are contemporary romance.

This is Erin's story. We met her in the first book. I enjoyed that book so much that I knew that I wanted to continue with the series.

Two things that I wanted to know re: this book. Can it be read without having read the first book? And how much will Parker and Colin and the characters from the first book be in this book?

Erin is introduced in the first book. So I would definitely recommend reading My Way to You first. However I definitely think that it would be possible to follow this book as a standalone.

Since I enjoyed the first book I was very happy that the characters from the previous book are in this book a lot. That was one of my favorite things about the book.

Parker is in this book quite a bit. So while you could follow the story without having read book one. IMO these books are more like a continuing story, but with different narrators. As major life events happen to Parker in this book.

The main narrators in Home to Me are Erin and Matt (3rd person POVs).

From the first book we found out that Erin had been running from her past. This is one of the main focuses of the story. And it was amazing to find out more about what Erin had been through.

Matt is a firefighter. And I really liked how this was an important focus of the story as well.

I normally don't like 3rd person POVs as much as 1st person POVs, as I usually find that I feel less connected to the characters. But this author is an expert as I barely even notice that I'm reading 3rd person.

I don't think that this book was as sexy as the first book. But the romance was extremely strong. And I think that the amount of sexiness worked perfectly for this story.

There were some unexpected events that happened in Home to Me that had me on the edge of my seat. And there was another 3rd person POV that I thought added so much to the story.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. It was an emotional and amazing sequel! And I am beyond thrilled with the main character selected for the third book.

Amazing! I love how Catherine Bybee writes romance from so many different angles. There was just the right amount of suspense in this for me. I was reading it faster and faster desperate to know what was going to happen.

I knew from book 1 in this series that Erins story was going to be heartbreaking and I wasn’t wrong. What I especially loved was the comparison drawn between Maci and Erin, how I could see just how much she had grown and changed and become stronger. She believed in herself and knew she deserved better, but she also now had strength in numbers with Matt and his family and Parker and hers.

I loved how Matt was so patient with her and so perfect, Erin is certainly one lucky lady. I can’t wait to read more of this series and learn the others back stories.

5 Star Review Home To Me (Creek Canyon #2) by Catherine Bybee
The second book in Ms.Bybee’s latest series was a well written, emotional story with a heroine who has survived so much, is strong, resilient and determined to escape her abusive ex.
I admired Erin Fleming as she turned her life around and moved to Santa Clarita, California. Matt Hudson, a firefighter is the man who makes her heart flutter and may well be the man who can earn her trust. He is caring and protective of Erin, totally swoon worthy and he ticked the boxes for me.
Matt is attracted to Erin, he knows she has secrets she is hiding, but he can tell that she has been through so much and yet is determined not to give in. All he wants to do is help and protect her but it is hard going. Home To Me is a heartfelt story that is emotional and at times gut wrenching. It is also a sweet story about love and overcoming obstacles that life puts in your path and in doing so allowing oneself to open up to the possibility of finding love and happiness again.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

There is just something about this series that draws me in. I couldn't put this book down! We met Erin and Matt in the previous book - and it was clear that Erin was running from something really really bad. It was also clear that Matt was very in to Erin and Erin wasn't ready to open up. Matt is a firefighter with a very big heart and a great personality. Matt's brother was the hero in the last book.

This book is very emotional and definitely needs to come with some big content warnings - <spoiler> spousal abuse (physical and mental) and gaslighting</spoiler>. Erin is seriously so strong nd Matt is absolutely perfect for her. He is the opposite of toxic masculinity. I loved him so so much. The whole Hudson family is just awesome.

Erin's journey is a fascinating one. Her experiences shine a bright light on a subject people have a very hard time understanding. Catherine Bybee does an amazing job with it and tells a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I am very hopeful that she has books planned for Grace and Austin (maybe even them together? even though Austin is still so young!)

Loved this story!

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

Erin had to leave her entire life behind to escape a bad situation. She doesn’t want to let anyone get close for fear of them being hurt. Matt is instantly drawn to Erin and knows they need to be together. Will Erin’s ex find them? Will Matt and Erin end up together? Great book that makes you want to know what happens next!

This is an emotional story of the strength of a woman who has escaped from an abusive situation. It is the story of the healing support of good friends and family, and the courage to move forward and start over. I was captivated from the beginning and had a hard time putting this book down. I highly recommend this book!

I have read a lot of this author's books, including the first book of this series. This series is different from her usual books. The second book was more intense than the first especially at the end. I stayed up later than I should have just to finish it! If you like this author or enjoyed the first book in this series, I highly recommend reading this one too. Now I'll wait for Gracie's story......coming soon I hope.

Home to Me is the second book in the Canyon Creek series by Catherine Bybee. Erin Fleming has come to Santa Clarita to escape her previous life. With a new house, new look, and new job she'd finally starting to feel like she live for her self a little. Matt Hudson is a firefighter that lives for the adrenaline that comes with his job. But when he meets Erin all of his protective instincts kick in.
This was an emotional but satisfying read for me. I love books where the heroine manages to pull herself out of a bad situation and make a better life for herself. This story line reminded me a lot of movies like Enough, or Sleeping with the Enemy which have always been favorites of mine. Erin has taken her safety in her own hands by preparing herself to fight back if her ex ever finds her. I found it so empowering that she was ready to defend herself and didn't need Matt to protect her.
On the other hand I was charmed by Matt's sudden turn about from a ladies man and adrenaline junkie. to a sweet and protective man. I liked that he wanted to keep Erin safe, but his instincts to protect didn't belittle her abilities. The love story between these two was a nice journey from friends to lovers that felt completely appropriate for a woman that had been so poorly treated in the past.
ARC received in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are my own.

Catherine Bybee’s newest book, Home to Me (Creek Canyon, Book 2), is an intense, romantic suspense novel that had me unable to put the book down, even as my own stress levels rose with each chapter.

Erin Fleming, first introduced in My Way to You, is in the midst of beginning a new life, cloistering herself away from the world to protect not only herself but anyone she cares for from the clutches of her truly abusive not-yet-ex husband. As much as she tries to remain totally isolated, she is drawn into the world of the Sinclairs and Hudsons. The ever more empowered and “badassed” Erin bears little resemblance to the cowering Maci, her former abused self. The truly good and caring Mark Hudson offers a sharp contrast to her narcissistic and evil ex, Desmond Brandt. These dichotomies of character between Erin/Maci and Mark/Desmond are a running thread throughout the book and very well done. The segments told from Desmond’s point of view are truly chilling and disturbing.

Catherine Bybee is a skilled author who capably crafts distinctly different storylines and characters in each of her books. This book is an enjoyable romance on one level but, on another level, it is quite suspenseful as the tension builds towards its climax. Four and a half stars.

I was given a free copy of this book by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions stated are solely my own.

Home to Me by Catherine Bybee is the second book in the Canyon Creek Series. The first book in the series called My Way to You was fabulous, so I was waiting for this novel! This novel focuses on Erin Fleming, the woman who lives in the guest house owned for Parker Sinclair. Erin seems to be shy and retiring, when in reality she is running from a sociopathic husband. A husband who refuses to divorce her and has threatened her, her family and her friends before she escaped. Erin is starting over and has rewritten her life. Parker’s boyfriend, Colin has a firefighter brother Matt, who is all about getting Erin to date him. Erin is terrified.

What made this book so interesting was the kindness and goodness of people who are willing to help Erin, without even really knowing her. Home to Me made me warm all over knowing that people really do care. I found the book was different from the first novel and although I did not find the book as absolutely fabulous as I did the first novel. I really, really like it. Erin and Matt were interesting main characters. I like how Erin’s story came out slowly through the medical field. I liked Erin’s strength and her fight to survive and live her life safely.

I am looking forward to the third book in this series called Everything Changes. Catherine Bybee’s second book in the Canyon Creek Series called Home to Me was a good read.

I haven't read this author before but the plot sounded interesting. So I read the first book in the series loved it and couldn't wait to read this one. This was a great book it is the story of Erin Fleming a woman who escapes to California to flee her abusive ex and start a new life and Matt Hudson a firefighter. His protective instincts kick in once he meets Erin and he tries to break past her defenses and earn her trust and show her not every man is like her ex. As their attraction grows so does the danger. Erin's ex has found her and they need to find him and figure out his plan before he can hurt them and ruin their relationship

I really enjoyed this book it was a great story with great characters I loved seeing Matt and Erin's relationship grow. I also liked checking in with characters from the first book. If your looking for some new books to check out you should really check out this series and book they are great. It shows family and love and fear and danger.

I received a free copy of this book from Netgally and her is my honest review I would purchase it for myself or friends and family. I have purchased the first book in the series and plan on purchasing the third.

This is the second book in the series Creek Canyon. The characters were introduced in the first one but you can read this book as a stand alone. Erin Fleming moved to Santa Clarita to get away from her abusive husband. She lives in Parker Sinclair’s guesthouse. Parker is dating Colin Hudson. Matt is Colin’s brother and a firefighter. Matt likes Erin but Erin has a hard time opening up due to her abusive husband. The romance between Matt and Erin is sweet, sassy and steamy. I really enjoyed this book. Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Romace for the early E-ARC. This is my own opinion.

This book was amazing. I didn't want to put it down. There was a well told romance (of course) between Erin and Matt but there was nail biting suspense as well. Erin is a great character, someone who had a difficult life but still is strong. Matt is the ultimate book boyfriend- protective, loyal, loving and sweet. I loved meeting Parker and Colin, who were featured in the first book- I haven't read it yet but I will soon because I loved them so much. I don't think you need to read this in order (I certainly didn't) but be prepared for this book to whet your appetite about Parker and Colin's love story!

Not to give anything away but Erin is running away from her past. Can she prevail against evil? And can Matt and his friends help protect her before evil finds her? I look forward to more books in this series! Thanks to NetGalley for an early read.

This is the second book in the Canyon Creek series and it picks up right where the first one leaves off. While this book can technically be read as a stand alone novel, I highly recommend reading them in order just so you know all of the characters. Seeing Erin's progression from when she was first introduced in My Way to You is a very big part of the story.
Erin is a victim of domestic abuse and is still in hiding from her abusive husband. So when she first meets Matt she is intimidated by his size, even though she knows he is nothing like her husband. In the first book, Erin was very much a woman living in fear. Whereas in this second book, she is feeling a bit safer and allowing herself to take a chance on Matt. But whether she can ever really be safe and happy is another question.
Once again, Catherine Bybee has taken a very sensitive topic and handled it very well while still writing a terrific book. I appreciate the fact that though this was a romance, the author did not rush the characters at all but instead allowed Erin to fully develop a trusting friendship with Matt. All in all, a fantastic read.
