This is a good early chapter book for fans of DC comics. The bright illustrations will really help grab younger readers.

'The Amazing Adventures of the DC Super Pets: Cave of Kryptonite' by Steve Korte with art by Art Baltazar is a book for young readers with 3 stories about Superman's pet dog Krypto.

Superman is trapped in a cave of Kryptonite and Krypto is left to help out while Superman is unavailable. Krypto stops a rocket and a falling hiker. Now he just needs to find a way to help his friend Superman.

These are fun stories for young readers. The art by Art Baltazar is also lots of fun. The art is why I picked this up for review, and ended up having a good time reading them.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Capstone and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

Krypto!

This was cool (I mean, I need to read the Streaky book in this series pronto, but, what can you do, the world is obsessed with dogs).

Superman is playing with Krypto and a piece of red pipe when he is made weak by Kryptonite. Luckily Krypto is there. First so that he can save some people, and then so he can save Superman too.

It was the usual cute sort of Capstone book. The comic chapter books are just really cool I think, and, I definitely wish that they'd existed when I was reading at that level. Great art by Art Baltazar to go with a cute story by steve Korte.

I was given this ARC by Netgalley on behalf of Capstone

I had a lot of fun reading this book. Superman and Krypto are just having fun, until things turn serious fast. Superman runs into a dangerous substance, and only Krypto might be able to save him in time. It will take some fast thinking if Krypto is to save the Man of Steel before it is too late. If you are a fan of the DC Super-Pets then this is a book you will want to read.

I absolutely LOVE DC Comics and the corresponding films. It is one of my greatest guilty pleasures of all time! It was only natural for me to want to read a cute adaptation of the DC Super Pets! Especially with that adorable cartoon cover.

Cave of Kyrptonite is a short but sweet comic. Krypto the Super-Dog takes the lead in this cartoon adventure! Superman and Krypto are hanging out, having fun and beating the bad guys. The three chapters in this book follow these two superheroes as they solve some mischievous plans. And lucky for us, these good guys are going to try to save the day!

I think this book is perfect for young readers, especially middle graders. There is a short storyline to follow that packs in a lot of adorable fun. I seriously think this is a great adaptation of Krypto!

Four out of five stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and CapStone for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

A simplistic story for young readers, Superman is playing with Krypto when he enters a cave containing Kryptonite. A rocket is coming, Krypto has to stop it. A man falls off a mountain ledge, Krypto has to save him. And lastly, Krypto has to safely remove the Kryptonite to save Superman!

At first I thought it was a little choppy and poor Superman is lying there helpless the whole time, but what I ultimately gave it an extra star for was the writing prompts and discussion questions at the end - I absolutely love the idea of having young readers write down their own stories to explain the rocket, the Kryptonite, how they’d act if they were the hiker, etc. Use those imaginations!

My 3-year old loved hearing the story, and I can just see him using this series when he’s learning to read later too!

Seeing that art Balthazar was the illustrator I automatically assumed this was a graphic novel. In fact, this is an early chapter book. It's a wonderfully fun story for boys are for girls. It uses balthazar's artwork To keep it in Cannon with the rest of the series. It's super fun and I want more.

Thank you Capstone and Netgalley for a copy of The Amazing Adventures of the DC Super-Pets by Steve Korte for an honest review.

My son and I read this book at bed time and absolutely loved it! The pictures are bright and fun, the story was easy for him to read and follow along and it featured some of his favourite super pets, which is harder to find in books that you might think. He is showing an interest in graphic novels so to find some that might work for his beginner reading level is perfect and we'll definitely be adding this one to his shelves in August.

This is a good early chapter book for kids, but only if they are familiar with the Superman story. Otherwise, I think this would confuse them. There are a lot of assumptions going on here. The missile being the color of Lex Luthor's costume. What Kryptonite does, in Superman's world, etc.

And there is nothing wrong with these assumptions. It may well be that even young children know all about Superman, so no introduction, or backstory is necessary to enjoy this book.

However, the book is very, very short. So, just as you get into the story, it is over. And we don't solve the problem with the rocket, or how Kryptonite go into the cave, or anything like that.

If this is part of a series about Superman and Kyrpto, perhaps it makes more sense.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

This book was not one of my favorites, but it wasn’t horrible either. Just not my taste. The pictures are quite nice.
