Your best thriller yet, Alice Feeney! The His & Hers dual POVs plus the mysterious third person kept me guessing until the very end. I thought I was figuring things out, but kept misinterpreting the clues that were being dropped. So well done! Unreliable narrators to the nth degree. Loved all the pithy one-liners throughout. They are not necessarily motivational quotes for the most part, but would lend a philosophy class material for quite some time. The plot is by no means cozy. There is a vicious killer with an agenda. We also know that there are some mean girls who seem to have carried on with life leaving human and animal victims in their wake. Intricate and engaging. I was hooked from the first chapter.
Thank you to Flatiron Books and NetGalley for a DRC in exchange for an honest review.

I was able to both listen and read His & Hers by Alice Feeney thanks to the generosity of Macmillan Audio, NetGalley, and Flatiron Books. I’m really grateful for this because I listen to audiobooks during the day and I read at night. I had a hard time turning His & Hers off so being able to transition over to a DRC and continue my fascination with this thriller was much appreciated!
There are three narrators in this story; Anna Andrews, her ex-husband, DCI Jack Harper and the killer themselves who uses a voice modulator so we are unable to ascertain their gender or anything else about them. Anna is a BBC reporter investigating a murder of a woman in the countryside village of Blackdown where she and Jack grew up, also where Jack now resides and works as a DCI. Things get a bit hairy when it turns out they both knew the victim and each had a fairly dodgy history with her. The story alternates timelines but does so in a way that gives insight in to the personal history of the characters involved. As more murders occur with Anna and Jack tied to the victims, it’s a race to find the killer before they strike again. One thing is certain, nobody can be trusted.
Fast paced with strong affecting characters and a twisty plot, His & Hers is a compelling read from start to finish. The complexity of the story adds to its allure and had me suspicious of everyone. Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine are perfect as narrators of Jack and Anna, the pacing is perfect and their voices a delight to listen to. The voice modulation of the killer is perfectly creepy and sent chills down my spine! Another fabulous story by Alice Feeney!

My favorite part of this book was the twist. There were points where I was questioning the character, but never gave much thought.
I really love the writing, but I was not a big fan how this story was told. I eat up how flow of the words, otherwise this book would have taken me ages to finish and then became a DNF.
Instead of a natural story unravel it was like walking up a ladder. And example is you learn right away about their child, but you don't find out to 66% of the book what happen. But it felt like every chapter you were given another line to tell what happen. All the plot points where like that, which also made it repetitive in spots.
I also didn't fully get the title. I didn't understand why we need the his pov when he had nothing really to do with the crimes.

His & Hers is a freak-you-out force de fiction and I am still reeling over it days after I finished. I am going to go out on a limb here and say this book might have just nailed down its spot in my top 5 reads of the year. This murder mayhem investigation, told from the multiple POVs of the main characters who may be more involved than they would like, is fast-paced and brilliantly written. I devoured each twist and shock that this disturbing, suspenseful tale delivered right up until the ending that left my jaw dropped. I really hope that Alice Feeney dropped a mic when she finished writing this because WOW.

What another fantastic twisted thriller from Alice Feeney! I loved Sometimes I Lie, and His & Hers does not disappoint. This thriller focuses on two people who were once married to each other. I loved the shifting narration between the two characters. The mystery builds slowly as we try to figure out who is murdering women in this small British town. I thought I had figured out the mystery about halfway through, but I was wrong. I love when an author leaves clues that we think leads to one particular character only to surprise us in the end. I will admit that I did not like the description of animal cruelty, but that is the only thing I didn't enjoy.

Another winner for Alice Feeney! Especially the audio version. The narrators of this one were exceptionally good! I loved the twists and turns this one took as we follow Him (Jack) and Her (Anna) and figure out what is happening by visiting their pasts. Highly recommend!

I have seen this one around social media and not only did the cover catch my eye, the blurb did as well. I was thrilled at the opportunity to listen and review the audio! I will start this review about the audio itself: the biggest issue I had was with the app in which I listened to the book. It was awful. It kept shutting off every 30-60 seconds for no reason. I was not able to listen unless my phone was unlocked. You can imagine my frustration at that. Thankfully, the narrators were spot on and brought this story to life. I felt they portrayed the characters perfectly. They felt believable and like reliable narrators.
The story itself was a little rocky at times. I did enjoy it, don’t get me wrong, but I had some problems. I do enjoy a nice balance of character and plot driven books. This one… well… the characters, Anna and Jack, were dreadful They are rather horrible people apart and they are even worse together. They were certainly fleshed out and woefully flawed, but there were times they almost overtook the plot of the story. They were self-centered to the point where I wanted to skip ahead to see if the author had moved on from them. I didn’t want to read an entire thriller about two nasty people who are rather rude no matter what. The further I got into the story, I did get the backstory of why they were the way they were, but it didn’t give them a pass for being despicable.
I know it sounds like I truly did not like this book but I did enjoy most of it. The character personalities were not my cup of tea but I stayed with this one for the actual plot, which was good. The ending did not blow me away but it was entertaining enough to hold my attention.

When I was approached to review His & Hers by the publisher I literally JUMPED at the chance. I read Sometimes I Lie back in 2018 and it was one of the reads of the year for me. The twists and turns were absolutely CRAZY GOOD and I thought it was fabulous!
So now after reading His & Hers I will dub Ms. Feeney the Queen of the TWIST! This woman knows how to write a psychological thriller!
Anna is a TV presenter, struggling with the trauma of her past. When she is called out to report on a murder crime scene she comes across her ex-husband Jack. Alternating between her and Jack’s viewpoints, their past is slowly unraveled and when more people start showing up dead, they realise that Anna may be next. But can either of them be trusted?
I just love the atmosphere she creates in this book. Dark and intense, she weaves an intricate web and you have no choice but to get caught in it.
Talk about unreliable narrators! I find it so much fun to read from characters perspectives that are not at all trustworthy! Who is telling the truth? What secrets do they hide?
Unfortunately, I admit that I did figure out the big twist – I really hate it when that happens! I really enjoy being surprised, but I guess because I had read Sometimes I Lie – I knew something big was coming. As it continued I thought I was wrong for a while, but then ultimately gave myself a high-five for getting it. Although this usually irks me, I still enjoyed getting to that point, and was by no means disappointed! There were still a lot of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming.
Would I recommend this book?
Yes! Any fan of a psychological thriller should enjoy the twists and turns in this one! See if you can guess the twist!
4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)
Many thanks to Flatiron books via Netgalley for a copy of His & Hers to review.

Holy Cannoli y’all!
I’m gonna keep this short and sweet: His & Hers is my first novel by Alice Feeney, and it was phenomenal. I seriously could not put it down. I did spent a good majority of the book thinking the killer was a certain character, only to piece together at the end that it was not at all who I suspected. I was able to figure out who it was before the “twist” ending, but it still threw me for a complete loop. Like I said, not at all who I originally suspected.
Highly recommend if you’re into serial killers and thrillers that will keep you on your toes!

Oh my goodness, Alice Feeney has done it again! I am in awe of how she can throw so many twists and so much misdirection into one book and still save the biggest twist for last. You will not guess this ending. Some people don't like the ending. I thought it was brilliant.
It takes a lot to shock or unsettle me and this book did both. I was seriously creeped out at one point. Alice Feeney's writing style is what I love best in a mystery/thriller: unreliable narrators, plot twists galore and just super dark and messed up. Haha.
Read this book. And don't overanalyze everything or try to figure it all out as you go along though I realize that's impossible! But it won't help you here. Just enjoy the ride.
Many thanks to Flatiron Books for the chance to read this thrilling book early!

Holy moly! This book was a roller coaster and I feel like, when I finished, I needed to stop and catch my breath before deciding what I thought about it. I enjoyed the multiple point of views, which helped propel the story forward and helped to build up the suspense through giving the reader small amounts of information at a time. I kept Guessing at what I thought was going to happen and I kept guessing wrong. I did not like that the secret between the girls was sexually driven, while it was necessary to the story to have a secret, it seemed like an inappropriate use of a sensitive subject for shock value when another secret could have sufficed. The character development was done well and was done at such a pace that I , at times, couldn’t decide if I liked The characters or not. This helped to build the mystery. I was Very surprised at the twists and turns this story included, however, the use of the sexual storyline makes me hesitant to widely recommend this book to friends and family.

I'm a fan of Alice Feeney and was excited to get a chance to read His & Hers! The story moves a little slowly at the start, but the tension builds throughout and I was definitely intrigued until the very end.

I feel like I was reading a different book from everyone else. The last book I read by Alice Feeney, Sometimes I Lie, was amazing and I was so excited to get the ARC of her latest book. But I didn't think this one had the same magic as the last one.
Anna is a reporter for the BBC network and is an alcoholic following the death of her infant daughter. DCI Jack Harper is investigating a murder in a small town outside London and is shocked to discover that he knew the victim. though naturally, he doesn't tell anyone at work that. The book goes back and forth between Jack and Anna's POV and intermittently, we also get a third POV, which is the truth. I will say that the story was somewhat fast paced and even though I guessed one thing, there were still some twists that managed to surprise me. I guess my issue with it was that I never really connected with the characters and I actually hated everyone. I don't necessarily have to like the main characters of a book, but at the very least, I should care about them and what happens to them, but I just couldn't in this one. I also thought the very last twist at the end was way over the top, even for this author, and I didn't care for it.

This thriller was an absolute treat! The characters were well built and multi-faceted revealing enough of themselves to draw you in but keeping dark secrets that leave you unable to fully trust anyone.
I was happily misled right up to the end, thoroughly enjoying every delightful twist.

Thank you Flatiron Books and Netgalley for offering me this ARC to read. This book is off the charts! When I first started, I admit that I was thinking it was another book derivative of Gone Girl, of which there have been so many. While there are similarities with the two possibly unreliable narrators, it very quickly surpassed my expectations. By the last 15%, my brain was about to explode and I never saw it coming! Highly recommend this novel.

I thought I had it all figured out in the first half of the book. Everything seemed to point to this one character. So I was a little disappointed that it was so easy to figure out. The chapters were told from Him or Her and sometimes the killer had something to say. Each chapter gave a little more info about the character. Towards the end of the book thinks got crazy and even a little funny. Things just kept happening that made you think WHAT!!! I'm glad I didn't give up because I really enjoyed the book. Thanks to @flatiron_books, @alicewriterland and NetGallery for my early ebook copy of this book.

What a fun and twisty ride! This book is told from alternating perspectives hence the title His & Hers. There is also a third voice that provides commentary but the reader is not sure who is behind the voice. It makes for a fantastic guessing game for the reader and you will be continually revising your opinion..
Everyone in this small town has secrets. The author doles out these secrets a little at a time through flashbacks and through the police investigation of the crimes. At several point in the book you will think you have it figured out but then you will be hit with yet another twist. The author skillfully leaves hints and clues so the reader never feels suckered by a reveal.
This is the first book I've read by Alice Feeney but I will certainly be looking at her backlist and eagerly awaiting her future novels.

This book is honestly just brilliant. Alice Feeney is the absolute master of twists and turns and should teach grad-level courses about writing the unreliable narrator. Throughout the story the reader has no idea who to trust.
Anna and Jack divorces after the death of their daughter. Anna is now a news anchor for the BBC and Jack is an Inspector with the police force. A gruesome murder in their small hometown brings them back together. And it turns out that both Jack and Anna know secrets about the murdered woman—secrets that are slowly revealed as the story evolves.
“There are at least two sides to every story;
Yours and mine.
Ours and theirs,
His and hers.
Which means that someone is always lying.”

Wow! Excellent dark psychological thriller that is full of twists and turns. BBC presenter Anna has many secrets in her life including alcohol abuse and a horrific incident that happened when she was a teenager and caused her to leave town. When her young daughter dies and she gets divorced her main focus in life becomes her job. As people she knew who were former friends start getting murdered in horrific ways her life starts to quickly unravel. Told from multiple points of view, this chilling tale will keep you guessing until the unbelievable end. Could not devour this book quick enough.

I've read quite a few psychological thrillers that have surprised me. This one left me in shock. A group of girls were friends in high school. Anna's 16th birthday celebration went badly. Twenty years later, someone is killing each of the girls. This is a book about friendship, betrayal, lies, revenge and murder.
