This is clearly one of the best suspense thriller books I have ever read. Normally I don’t read these type of books, but I kept hearing about this one so wanted to read it. I loved how it alternated between his and her perspectives. It’s ingenious and was well done. This is an extremely well written novel that keeps you guessing on every single page. It’s a little twisted but the ending is what made me give it five stars. Just when you thought you figured it out, the plot thickens. I already recommended this book to people I know because it’s that good. Run, don’t walk to read this book!

Just when I thought I had it figured out, the twist gets twisty!! Narrated by 2 POVs, news reporter Anna Andrews & DCI Jack Harper. Hers - Anna is asked to cover a murder, turns out the victim is a childhood friend. His - Remains quiet on knowing who the victim is & becomes a suspect on his own investigation! Who’s telling the truth?? Another thrill ride from the author, love this & Sometimes I Lied! Thank you to Flatiron Books for an ebook ARC. This is my honest review.

The best type of thriller keeps you guessing about who the protagonist is until the end. Well this one goes above and beyond that. I changed my mind so many times while reading His & Hers. What made this book even more enjoyable is that the killer is identified at the very end and I did not see it coming. I loved the story, I loved the characters, this book is REALLY GOOD.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Flatiron Books for gifting me an ARC of this fabulous thriller by Alice Feeney. Publishing tomorrow, 7.28.20, clear your calendar and your mind and prepare yourself for a wild ride! 5 stars for such a well-written thriller that will really keep you guessing until the end.

As the title states, the book is written in His and Her voices to tell the story of murders happening in the small town of Blackdown in Surrey, England. His voice is of DCI Jack Harper who is called in to first investigate the murder of a young woman. He knows the woman killed but is keeping that information to himself. Her voice is of Anna Andrews, a TV announcer who is called in to report on the murder. She too knows the woman. We also hear from the killer's voice - the only completely truthful voice we hear - but who is it?

I don't want to give anything away here because this is such a well-written book that just has your mind going from person to person to figure out the truth. I loved learning all the background of both Jack and Anna as well as the other players involved but it only added layers to this thriller. The chapters are small to keep you reading between these two viewpoints until you finally arrive at the truth. Highly recommended!

I was lucky enough to be the winner of an advanced copy of this book and I couldn't put it down! I thought I had it figured out from the beginning. I thought it was all so obvious. I was seriously wrong! The twists and turns did not stop! I felt creeped out, disturbed, sad for the characters, and so many other emotions! Told from alternate sides, Him and Her, the story is gradually revealed. I really enjoyed this fast read and highly recommend it!

This book held my attention the entire time y'all. It's one of those stories that is hard to talk about with giving away details, but I will say that if you like thrillers and mysteries, this one is a must-read!
I liked seeing the connection between Him and Her and how that developed over the course of the book as we learned more information. This book got very dark at times and is not for everyone if you don't like to read about distressing topics. But everything that happened led to important revelations in the plot and helped you get a better understanding of the characters and how their stories intersected.
I was constantly shocked at every twist and turn in this story. I also was absolutely terrified toward the ending of the book and internally screamed for an entire chapter. It felt like I was watching a horror film. I never would have guessed the ending, and I blamed like 4 different people during the course of this book and still got it wrong. So don't ever think you know what's going on in this book because you don't. Even the simplest truths turn out to not be true. I want to go back and re-read some parts just to see what I missed the first time.
Overall, the author did an amazing job building suspense and misleading you every step of the way. I definitely want to read more from them.

This was The quintessential psychological thriller. It had so many twists and turns that while I thought I had it figured out, I was totally wrong. And the different points of view melded together brilliantly. It was definitely a page turner.

Anna is a news reporter, and she returns to her hometown to report on a murder. The murdered woman was a friend of Anna's. One of the detectives on the case is Anna's ex-husband Jack, and he also knew the murdered woman.

Told with the alternating points of view of Anna, Jack, and the killer. Anna and Jack are divorced. Anna still lives in London, but Jack moved back to Blackdown. Anna's return to Blackdown is more involved than simply reporting on a murder. While there is a murder investigation, there is also a lot of drama going on in Anna and Jack's personal and professional lives.

A complex mystery that kept me guessing. Flawed and unreliable characters. Lots of drama. Dark, twisted, and clever.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I will read anything by Alice Feeney. It's probably best you go into this one blind--that's what I did and I highly recommend it,

Absolutely loved this book! So many twists and turns that were completely unexpected, though at times unreasonable and unrealistic. I liked the tension between Anna and Jack, though did not quite understand the inclusion of Priya. Maybe she was there to make it somewhat a dysfunctional love triangle? All in all, would totally recommend this book once it is released!

Alice Feeney has done it again with His & Hers. Set in a small town, the secrets and lies come to light as a serial killer works their way through, getting closer to our hero and heroine. You won't see this ending coming.

4.5 stars for my second Alice Feeney!

I was so excited to receive an ARC of His & Hers through NetGalley - I thoroughly enjoyed Sometimes I Lie and loved the sound of the blurb. This book is honestly so much weirder, twistier, creepier, and messed up than I thought. Feeney really does a great job building tension, keeping the reader second guessing until the last chapter, last page, last sentence.

Anna Andrews is a news presenter at BBC, an alcoholic, and a woman in deep stages of grief. When a dead woman is found in her hometown of Blackdown, Anna is sent to the small sleepy town to cover the murder. But Blackdown holds many secrets for Anna, present and past, which slowly unfold throughout. While in Blackdown, Anna comes up against Detective Jack Harper, who has many secrets of his own, and many that intersect with Anna's. His & Hers is told from both Anna and Jack's perspectives and neither are reliable: both know more than they are letting on. Who is telling the truth? Who is lying? And who is killing women in Blackdown?

Overall, I went through a million guesses of who the killer is. And I was 100% wrong. Some things I easily guessed, but many of the twists were just dropped into the story, enough that I wasn't sure if it was a twist or something I missed, WHICH I LOVE. This book is messed up so many sure to keep an eye for trigger warnings from other reviewers (I don't want to spoil anything but know that many triggering things show up in these pages). I would highly recommend this book for readers who like to be surprised, like to be creeped out, and like to be kept guessing.

4.5 stars!! I loved the alternating POVs/chapters from the main character, Anna, to her ex husband, Jack. This book had sooooo many twists and turns and the author did an EXTREMELY good job. It’s not often I’m left shocked with thrillers lately, but this one sure got me! Thank you to Netgalley and Flatiron for the advanced copy. Full review on my Instagram to come closer to pub day!

This is a good book for anyone who likes to lean into their own shadows a bit. I tend to like my thrillers on the dark side- so I will say that this may not be for everyone, as Alice Feeney does not hold back. The book goes between two main perspectives- him and her. A woman is found murdered, and they are both connected to her. Jumping between the two perspectives, their pasts unfold as the murder investigation and subsequent events occur. It's hard to go into the plot without giving anything away.

What you can expect are twists, turns, and plenty of graphic descriptions. There are also bits of narration from the murderer themself, which kept me guessing as to who it could be. While I did guess a few twists, I did not expect the ending! I read 'Somtimes I Lie' by the same author and really liked that as well!

This book was a great thriller with many twists and turns. It keeps you guessing throughout the book as you uncover more and more details about the past that links to the future. I really enjoyed it!

A murder mystery, a real who done it, told between chapters going back and forth from his viewpoint, her viewpoint, and a mysterious third. Similar to the three sides to every story, there are each persons version and then the truth. This page turner kept me guessing until the end and I was engaged with the book the entire time reading it. There are some triggers and possibly some parts that would disturb others for sexual violence and abuse. Over all its a very disturbing mysterious read, in a good way!

This title really kept you on the edge of your seat. It was masterfully written. The author able able to pull off the different voices remarkably well-no small feat. You felt you knew the characters. And oh. my goodness all the red herrings! A great escapist read. Highly recommend. I couldn’t wait to get to the ending.. not high literature-but totally good for a hot summer’s day

His & Hers By Alice Feeney
If you have been paying attention, you know that when I give the summary of a book, it means, whether I loved it or hated it, it is challenging to discuss because of spoilers. Below is the summary of Alice Feeney's latest book, His & Hers. For me, His & Hers is Alice Feeney's first book. I know another author to add to the "I'm late to the party" list. But you know what I always say!

Summary Of His & Hers By Alice Feeney
There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, His & Hers. Which means someone is always lying.
Anna Andrews finally has what she wants. Almost. She's worked hard to become the main TV presenter of the BBC's lunchtime news, putting work before friends, family, and her now ex-husband. So, when someone threatens to take her dream job away, she'll do almost anything to keep it.
When asked to cover a murder in Blackdown—the sleepy countryside village where she grew up—Anna is reluctant to go. But when the victim turns out to be one of her childhood friends, she can't leave. It soon becomes clear that Anna isn't just covering the story; she's at the heart of it.

DCI Jack Harper left London for a reason but never thought he'd end up working in a place like Blackdown. When the body of a young woman is discovered, Jack decides not to tell anyone that he knew the victim, until he begins to realize he is a suspect in his own murder investigation.
One of them knows more than they are letting on. Someone isn't telling the truth. Alternating between Anna's and Jack's points of view, His & Hers is a fast-paced, complex, and dark puzzle that will keep readers guessing until the very end.

Apparently There Are Multiple Sides To Every Summary
That summary. It lies. This isn't just about His & Hers. Not only Oh. Wait. I didn't tell you the most important thing yet. Sorry. I'm all over the place.

To Be Salty Or Not To Be, That Is The Question
Or in the case of me and Adult Psychological Questions, to be trash or not to be trash. That is the question. Ten percent into His & Hers and I was scoping out dumpsters that were big enough to hold me and the whiteboard. Apparently, I hadn't learned my lesson from S.J. Bolton and The Split. I was going to beat Alice Feeney at her own game.
No. No I was not. It is now 0-2, in favor of the authors.
What was going to happen, is that I and the whiteboard were absolutely and no doubt throwing myself into the dumpster for Alice Feeney. Hell, not long after that, I had realized that the dumpster fire was riding my ass down the river. Feeney was taking me to church. His & Hers was unnerving, mystifying, and downright jarring book to ever cross my path.

It is also the first book I have read since I was a kid to make me walk around and check that the door, windows, and patio were locked, blinds down, and crawl up in a ball on the couch.
Yes. Books have put me in the fetal position but not in this way, after checking that everything was locked and shut. This mostly from one specific point of view. But, see, I can't talk about that, at all. There are multiple points of view. I can say that, which brings me to what I was going to talk about, above.

Apparently There Are Multiple Sides To Every Summary
That summary. It lies. And that ain't cool, man. This isn't just about His & Hers. This is about a lot of people. I can't say much more than that, but it LIES. Yeah. Ok. That's all I can say there. Well, as I said above, there is this other point of view and it, it fucks with you. BADLY.
Want to know a secret. It almost made me cry. Not because I was sad. I was scared of that point of view. Like, I was seriously scared of it. You know we joke about the Council of the Ninja of the Magic Conjuring Cats, but they do have some emotional IQ. And at one point? I noticed that Pavel had got on top of the couch, bad hips, and all. He was watching over me.

And when has a book ever made me even come close to crying? Mainly out of fear. I DON'T DO THAT.

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Women who connected as school girls and retain a tenuous connection through their hometown start being targeted and violently murdered. There are plenty of twists in this novel and discovering the back story is as interesting as the current violent happenings.

Thanks to NetGalley, Flatiron Books, Libro.FM and MacMillan Audio for this free ARC & ALC which publishes July 28, 2020.

Well I didn't see that coming. This one kept me guessing right until the end.

When a woman is murdered in the small town of Blackdown, Anna Andrews heads back to her hometown as a news correspondent to cover the story. Local detective, Jack Harper, is investigating the case and becomes suspicious of Anna's involvement. Secrets abound in this little town but which leads to murder?

This audiobook had fantastic narration alternating between the two main characters...plus an additional third party perspective. I would highly recommend going with the audio for this book. It truly brought this story to life in a way that I don't think would've translated the same with a physical copy. Though a tad slow at times, it kept me engaged and eagerly listening. I kept thinking I had figured things out but I couldn't have been more wrong.

Warning: There are some gruesome and disturbing elements to this story including sexual assault.
