Anna Andrew's has the perfect job, and she will do ANYTHING to keep it and I mean anything.

Jack, Anna's ex husband is working a murder case that Anna is sent to cover as a News journalist.

There are a lot of twists and turns and more than one side to this incredibly written story.

I mean, what is there to say about His & Hers by Alice Feeney that hasn't been said already? This book is CRAZY, and if you are going to consume it in one way that has to be the audiobook. Forget reading this one, the audio is probably the best one I've ever listened to and brought so much to the story that I can't even imagine just reading printed words on a page. Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine are the narrators and Armitage is now one of my favorite narrators thanks to this book. Also, the mysterious killer's voice on the audio is too good/creepy to miss!

As for the book itself, I thought the pacing was relatively slow, but it was interesting enough to keep me going and I was dying to know what was going to happen next. At first I thought it was going to be a bit of a police procedural because of DCI Jack Harper's viewpoint, but I didn't really find that to be the case. The story is more about the characters and trying to find out whodunnit, but not in a detective/procedural way. Most of the excitement really comes from Anna's perspective, but I still loved the dual narrators along with the addition of the killer's viewpoint.

His & Hers does have a couple of very disturbing scenes that come towards the end, so this isn't going to be a read for just anyone. Despite the triggers I thought it was just so well done, and I loved Feeney's writing style plus the format of the book in general. The end hit me like a bus, and I did NOT see any part of it coming. Feeney did an amazing job of throwing suspicion on lots of different characters and I had very little figured out.

Read His & Hers if you listen to audiobooks because frankly if you don't like audiobooks I just don't think you're going to enjoy it as much as you have the potential to with the audio. I haven't read any of Feeney's other books yet, but I will definitely be doing that now, most likely via audio. This book is an experience and I highly recommend it to my crime/thriller lovers!

Soooo good and dark and twisty!

I admit this one kept me guessing until the very end. Everyone seemed guilty. No one was trustworthy.

So many unreliable narrators. Who do you trust? Who do you believe?

It’s clear this is a revenge story. But who and why are the biggest questions. And I just admit, it’s brilliantly done.

There’s also a lot of tragedy wrapped inside these pages. A lot of hurt.

The narration is brilliant. Three sides to the story. His, hers, and the killer’s. And just who is the killer? Well, that shocked the hell out of me! I rarely am surprised in the genre these days, but this one got me good!

I highly recommend this one! Definitely a top read of 2020.

A nail biting tale told from the POV of he, she and the killer. Interesting method of writing. It kept me engaged to the end. And I highly recommend.

I’m so grateful to the author, publisher & NetGalley for this ARC! It’s just amazing!! There are some very creepy, sadistic characters with fast paced action. There is no lull in this one. Included are twists and turns that keep the reader intrigued and wondering just who is responsible. The end seems to a sweet all the questions, but then Sweeney throws a wrench in that shatters it all! NetGalley is now offering audiobooks ARCs, which is a dream come true for me, as they are my favorite! NetGalley also provided the audio version of this in addition to the scoot! I am over the moon excited for audiobook ARCs! This one is perfection. Narrators are just right! Must read!!

BRAVO Alice Feeney! What a WILD and CRAZY ride! Twisted and tense. Dark and desperate. Disturbing and delicious. And can I just say the audio ramped all thes things up... way UP! Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine definitely elevated the creep factor with their spot on narration. The story is told from three perspectives his, hers, and that of the killers. On the audio the voice of the killer was downright spine chilling! Not even going to touch on the plot of this one, it is best gone into without knowing much of anything. Just know it’s an electric page turner with an unexpected ending.

BRIEF: HIS & HERS by Alice Feeney is an unsettling psychological thriller told through two dysfunctional perspectives about a killing spree in a small English town.

LIKES: It’s a dark, fast-paced, easy read with plenty of plot twists and surprises. The audiobook keeps the guessing alive with the killer’s narrative done through a voice-changer effect.

UTILITY: The story is written well enough to make you wonder just who you can trust. Warnings: animal abuse, grooming, rape, infant death, infidelity.

EXPERIENCE: Unfortunately, this was a miss for me. The plot was a bit bizarre and outrageous. Despite the ebook and audiobook crossover, I still needed a more plausible reason for murder on this level. If you want to take a chance on it because of the other rave reviews, then do the audiobook, but note the trigger warnings

This is written from the perspective of his(Jack) and hers(Anna) and the killer! One of the best mystery/thriller stories I’ve read this year! It deals with a group of girlfriends that carry horrible secrets into their adult lives! And a small town where everybody knows everything about most that live there!

You hear about the happenings from Jack and Anna’s viewpoints along with the killers. But the author does a great job of keeping you guessing of who the killer is throughout the book! I had many thoughts on who it was but I was wrong in the end! This one keeps you guessing till the very end! I really enjoyed the way the author presented the story of Blackdown and the secrets it hides!

This well deserves the description “cat and mouse game”. There are so many who could be the murderer. Anna Andrews gets caught up in reporting the murders of former girls with whom she went to grammar school in a small English town. Her ex-husband, Jack, is the Detective Chief Inspector in charge of the investigation. Both could be the murderer. It’s a page turner and leaves the reader in disbelief when the actual murderer is discovered.

Blackdown is a quiet little village outside of London that suddenly finds itself thrust into the national spotlight when a body is found under some rather mysterious circumstances. Anna Andrews, a correspondent for BBC--formerly the anchor--is sent to cover the story in Blackdown, which happens to be the village she grew up in. She soon finds herself doing more than simply covering the story, however; it turns out she knows the victim, drawing her into the story and the case. In charge of the case is DCI Jack Harper, head of the major crime team, who also happens to know the victim. Jack opts not to tell anyone, until he begins to look like a suspect himself. Someone knows more than they will admit to; there is his side, and her side. 

His & Hers is a face-paced mystery that I had a hard time putting down. The action is told from his side and her side, along with a third, mysterious narrator. Aside from giving the reader the two sides to the story, the back and forth created a lot of suspense in the story, and, needing to know what would happen, I was often unable to put it down. It also has various flashback moments that add depth to the characters and the mystery. Feeney throws mystery and action at the reader right at the beginning, and continues to do so all the way through to the end. The plot is deliciously twisted, as are many of the characters, but there are some parts that some people might have a hard time with. The characters are well developed and the reader really gets a good look into the thoughts and motivations of Anna and Jack.

There’s been a lot of buzz about this book on Instagram and I understand why. The plot had so many twists and turns. Literally every single character made me suspicious of them at some point during the story which made it hard to put down.

I loved the short chapters, pace of the book and creepy atmosphere the author was able to create. The story was a bit too dark for me, but that’s just my personal taste. I love how everything wrapped up nicely in the end. I’m sure this will be hugely popular!

I’ll be honest and say that I haven’t had the best luck with Alice Feeney’s books in the past but after seeing so much hype surrounding this one, I had to reach out to the publisher for a copy. This is definitely my favorite of Feeny’s three books, more so aligning with what I love in a good thriller. The story had shocking twists that kept me guessing who the real killer was until the very end. I think it was cleverly crafted and executed, leaving no loose ends. It wasn’t outlandish or unbelievable like her last book (I know I’m not the only one who thought that). I thoroughly enjoyed the story and felt for the characters while at the same time being suspicious and wary. No character was safe in my eyes - I suspected them all - which I think shows how clever the writing was.

I’ve seen a lot of people saying this was their favorite thriller of the year thus far. It didn’t capture my heart or attention in that way but I do highly recommend this one. It had an interesting storyline that develops slowly over time, giving you just enough to keep your interest and flip the pages. The pacing was excellent. I hadn’t spent a lot of time reading this week and didn’t expect to finish this one but before I knew it, the story was all tied up.

Pick this one up if you’re looking for a fast-paced thriller with lots of twists and turns!

His & Hers By Alice was one of the most amazing books I've read to date!

Anna Andrews finally has what she wants. Almost. She's worked hard to become the main TV presenter of the BBC's lunchtime news, putting work before friends, family, and her now ex-husband. So, when someone threatens to take her dream job away, she'll do almost anything to keep it.

When asked to cover a murder in Blackdown--the sleepy countryside village where she grew up--Anna is reluctant to go. But when the victim turns out to be one of her childhood friends, she can't leave. It soon becomes clear that Anna isn't just covering the story, she's at the heart of it.

DCI Jack Harper left London for a reason, but never thought he'd end up working in a place like Blackdown. When the body of a young woman is discovered, Jack decides not to tell anyone that he knew the victim, until he begins to realise he is a suspect in his own murder investigation.

This book had me questioning everyone around. I loved how this story was portrayed & how it was told.
There was so many plot twist. Loved every second of it!
You start to think you know who is out for revenge..... Bam something happens & your guessing again!
This is like something that really could happen in real life.... I think that is why I enjoyed it so much. (Not that I'm a creeper or anything) 😂

This story does have some trigger warnings-- child lose, sexual assault, bullying!

I have not read a book like this yet.
And Holy Cow can I just say that ending!?!? What??? I was completely shocked!

I feel like His & Hers should be getting more promotional and marketing thsn it did because it's a great thriller but maybe part of the reason it hasn't is readers like me, who swore they'd remember to talk it up everywhere and did, but then stopped. Writing this has reminded me to keep talking about His & Hers, so yay! for that. And definitely for the book!

Wow! Twists and turns all over the place! I really enjoyed this book. Alice Feeney really knows how to put together a good story, and wrap it up with a surprise ending that you will love. Several times I thought I had this all figured out, then something would happen and I'd reassess, then something else would happen and it was back to square one. Excellent execution of the entire book.

I loved Feeney's book Sometimes I Lie, and this is just as good. Thank you so much to Net Galley and the publisher for sharing a free ebook in exchange for an honest review.

HIS & HERS follows BBC Newscaster Anna Andrews and Detective Jack Harper as they both try to get to the bottom of a recent murder in their hometown of Blackdown Woods. That’s about all I’ll say for the plot because I HIGHLY recommend going into this one blind (or knowing as LITTLE as possible); this book honestly takes you on a crazy ride that will have you guessing at every turn. So the less you know beforehand, the better!

To get right to the point, this books gets ALLLL the stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 His & Hers was JUST the twisty psychological thriller that I needed to read. It was twisty, full of surprises and unreliable narrators, and every time I thought I knew who the murderer was, I immediately suspected someone else—I simply could not stop reading, or listening (I read along with the audiobook for this one)! I’ve seen that some people have been disappointed with the ending and the revelation of who the murderer is, but I can’t say the same. I thought that it was so well done and it absolutely made sense with the rest of the story. I loved it! I’d also like to add that the audiobook is just as incredible, and the voices they chose to portray Anna and Jack, as well as the mysterious third voice, were so fitting and absolutely perfect. Everything about this book, and audiobook, was incredible.

It’s been a little while since I’ve felt this way about a book and I’m so glad that it was with His & Hers because Alice Feeney is one of my all-time favourite authors and this book was one of my most anticipated books of the year.

HIS & HERS came out earlier this week, on July 28th, and it is definitely one that you don’t want to miss. If you haven’t had the chance to read/get this one yet, I highly recommend doing that immediately because you will NOT be disappointed.

This book was thrilling from the beginning to the end. I read along with the audio book and and it did not disappoint. Fabulous narration by Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine.

I love the triple viewpoints of this book. Told from his, hers, and the killers perspective. It was fast passed and the twists will have you turning the page quickly. Quite a lot of foreshadowing in this creepy psychological thriller. There were some particularly disturbing parts and I would urge those with triggers to read reviews before proceeding.

The story surrounds Anna a BBC television reporter and her ex-husband Jack a criminal investigator. They have a torrid past and suffer from so much emotional baggage. When people from their pasts and present start being murdered, secrets once buried start to surface.

I appreciate St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for allowing me to read an early copy of both the book and listening to the audio version for free in exchange for my opinion.

Full disclosure - after reading Sometimes I Lie, I went into His & Hers expecting to love it. And I did. So much. There were so many elements to this story - the cautionary tale for young women who are afraid to follow their instincts because they don’t want to be seen as rude, the reader’s inner struggle as they begrudgingly cheer the murderer on, and my personal favorite: the will they or won’t they sort of romance component.
His & Hers is a story of a man and a woman brought to a murder scene under very different conditions, but both end up being suspects along the way. I loved the dynamic of the main characters in this story, and enjoyed both of their points of view. Their past was told in a way that kept you guessing as much as the mystery did. Both kept their cards close to the vest, and it was hard to get to know either one of them, though I did like them both. Particularly for Anna, this book dives into her past before she even knew Jack, and it was meaty. Her household was one of dysfunction, and it was something she was never quite able to outrun. There were so many twists and turns in this story, and just when you thought you had a grip on what was happening, another curveball was thrown your way. This really was a book about opportunities presenting themselves, and even though I kept thinking the characters were ‘normal,’ something else would happen showing me otherwise. Though maybe that is what makes them normal. The town of Blackdown was as much a character as anyone else, and any time it was mentioned, it felt ominous. It was clear there were few good memories there, and there were times when the mere mention of it gave me the creeps. There was a Mean Girl vibe to this story that makes me feel like if the movie was a Thriller, His & Hers would be it.
I enjoyed this story from the first page to the last, and while I thought I knew what was going on, it was clear as the ending came on that I had no idea. If you enjoy Thrillers, particularly ones that keep you guessing until the very end, this one is not to be missed!

I've had mixed reactions to Alice Feeney's previous two books (loved Sometimes I Lie, hated I Know Who You Are), but His & Hers was absolutely fantastic, and in my opinion her best yet. This book is
very tricky, and I personally loved that every time I felt I had it figured out there was a curveball I never expected coming straight at me. Go into this one as blind as possible and follow where the narrative takes you!

Alice Feeney never fails to make my head spin. There are two sides to every story - yours and mine and his & hers. Which means there’s a lot of secrets being kept. Anna has finally worked hard enough to get everything she wants, until it alI starts to crumble and she’s forced back to her hometown to cover a murder for her job as a correspondent. Anna quickly realizes she knows the victim and may be a target. Detective Jack Harper is lead on the case, until he realizes he also knows the victim and could become a suspect. Anna and Jack both know more about this case than they’ll let on, but at what price will secrets be kept? ⁣

This is an alternating POV between Anna and Jack, with each chapter giving the reader a new surprise and tidbit of information to try and solve the crimes. As with Feeney’s other books, I’ve spent most of it questioning what is happening and trying to figure it out. This is the perfect mind twisting thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat, wanting to know what will be uncovered next. You definitely need to add this to your TBR! ⁣
