Wendy Walker spins a tale like no other I have read in "Don't Look for Me". The book will catch you up in the heartache of a woman who has accidentally been responsible for her own child's death. She is such a devastated mother that she is unable to console her other grieving daughter, son, and husband. The guilt she feels is complete and numbing. On a rainy night she disappears, out of gas, leaving her car and her cell phone to be found later. In a motel in a nearby town a note and her clothes are found. Her family again shocked and saddened search for her to no avail. A phone call to the daughter is the last clue and daughter Nic pursues it. That is when the thrill ride begins. The novel has more twists and turns than a mountain road. Molly has disappeared but was it by her own hand or another? What about Alice? Will she be able to help Molly our heroine escape the sorrows of the past and her own prison of sadness? The end surprised me. The good guys and bad guys were hard to determine from the personality and action turns. This book kept me entertained and it was definitely one I could not put down. Well written suspense.
Thanks #NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. #NetGalley#Don't Look for Me#

Wendy Walker does a great job of pulling you into the story of mother and daughter, their grief, and their journey to forgive themselves. It's a must read for all mystery lovers as it keeps you guessing until the very end. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of Walker's books as this was the first one I've read.

Many (if not all) of the early reviews for this one are so positive, this might be a minority opinion. While I found the book entertaining, it was not as thrilling or suspenseful as I would have liked. The twist seemed fairly obvious to me and I had a tough time emotionally connecting to the characters. I would still say give this one a try because many, many others have loved it!

A unfathomably tragic accident, a daughter dead, a family in agony and falling apart from despair and guilt. And then, a monster comes skulking into their lives, ripping them further apart, or is it a cabal, or a conspiracy of either omission or commission? The answers peak out at us throughout the story but keep us in the throes of uncertainty and doubt until the very end when tragedy and heartache bud into healing and hope and the promise of an imminent full bloom. A good story. Not a 'great" read, but a good one.

This book started out slowly and I didn't know if I was going to like it. Could have been that I was reading it before bed and would tire out quickly, because once I got into it I couldn't put it down. So many unreliable characters that you don't know what really is going on until you get closer to the end. Loved the suspense that it built. This was my first Wendy Walker book but I will definitely read her again.

Wendy Walker has a new fan! This book is a psychological thriller that grabbed me and didn't let go. I just couldn't put it down once I started it and a days after finishing, I'm still thinking about it. If you are looking for a book with unexpected twists, I'd highly recommend this fast-paced page-turner with relatable, flawed characters. You'll be on the edge trying to find out what really happened to Molly.

This book had a lot of unanswered twists and odd developments in it. Everything was surprisingly pulled together in the last couple of chapters. The characters were mostly believable and the descriptive writing helped bring them to life. I would recommend this book.

One of my top favorites this year. The book kept me guessing and the twist was a huge surprise. The writing is flawless and the characters are strong. I give this 5 stars and a strong recommendation.

I loved this book! This was my first Wendy Walker book and it won’t be my last. Thank you so much to Wendy Walker, Netgalley, and St. Martin’s Press for this book that comes out on September 15th! It was a fast-paced thriller with a great premise. It starts with Molly driving home and trying to stop for gas in a storm. When the gas station is closed, she walks to look for help while wondering what would happen if she just disappeared. Then, a stranger and his daughter stop and offer to help. Weeks later, Molly’s daughter Nic is searching for her mother and wondering what happened the night she disappeared.
Thoughts: I loved the plot of this book! It grabbed my attention from the first page and never lost it. I loved the duel perspectives, and how you know what happened, but not who, why, or how. The story builds backwards and forwards as you try to figure out what happened to Molly. I was interested in both sides of the story and had so many suspicions throughout the book. I loved the flawed character of Molly and the fiery character of Nic. There were also so many supporting characters that I wanted to learn more about and that caught my attention.
I thought that the ending of this book was satisfying and I was happy all the build-up paid off. I didn’t see the ending coming and that is always a good thing! Wendy Walker is a fantastic writer and she really knows how to suck you into a story. I will be going back to read her back-list books ASAP! 5-stars!

An entertaining summer read. Follows the general premise of the current plethora of abducted women novels. Some unexpected twists kept it interesting. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the rACE.

a mother and daughter, a good cop, a bad cop, a strangely adult 9-year old, missing people, kidnapping, violence booze & sex. told through alternating narratives i found the mom chapters held my interest more than the daughter chapters. an oddly creepy book that wraps up all too quickly. thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy.

IN WENDY WALKER'S THRILLING NOVEL 'DON'T LOOK FOR ME'. THE GREATEST RISK ISN'T RUNNING AWAY. IT'S RUNNING OUT OF TIME.
I was drawn in right from the get go and it was an emotional book as a mother. I just couldn't imagine the pain and sorrow that she went through after the accident five years ago. It also showed that no matter what a mothers love survives it all.
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an egalley in exchange for an honest review.
Release date is 9-15-2020.

Thank you for the opportunity to read! I couldn’t get through this book fast enough. The characters were engaging and the plot was intriguing. I was on the edge of my seat!! Can not wait to recommend this to friends!!

Solid thriller with heart wrenching sadness. A family’s grief mixed into a twisted tale of searching for a list family member in a creepy little town.

Really enjoyed this book. I really felt Molly & her families pain . Lots of twists and didn’t expect the ending. Very well written! Looking into more titles by Wendy Walker!!

Thriller with alternating POV. Hella surprises that were not what this reader expected.
One of my favorite lines: "The moment they realize we are liars is the moment they lose their childhood."
Very light editing issues, but my biggest problem with this book is the title makes no sense. Why not "She Walked Away"? It was said multiple times and makes some sense.

"DON'T LOOK FOR ME" by Wendy Walker
3.5 out of 5 ⭐s
Part of me wants to simply play into the "Whew! What a twisty thriller!!" narrative instead of vomiting my muddled thoughts on this book into a comprehensive review. But... obligations, ya know?
I don't think I've read a single negative review for this book yet. Every mention of it by ARC readers have all but DEMANDED that we must read it and love it. I totally understand the Wendy Walker love! But I have to be honest: I was underwhelmed by "Don't Look For Me".
The good: I thought the writing was strong and atmospheric. It is written in alternating points of view between the mother (Molly) and the daughter (Nicole) and both voices kept my attention, even if I felt that they could have had more distinction at the beginning of each chapter. The story flowed well, the dots all connected and I didn't find myself bored while reading.
The bad: It proved to be thoroughly predictable to me. And far too many of the ingredients for this story to work out the way it did felt unbelievable and unrealistic. I was disappointed to find out that I correctly guessed the ending before reaching the halfway mark (minus a couple of small details) and I would be lying by omission if I didn't admit that the ending felt drawn out and the reveal felt anticlimactic.
I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy this book. It was absolutely a well written thriller. I just can't rave about it being "The best thriller of 2020!" because it really didn't leave it's mark on me. But I acknowledge that I am a minority on this front and that you will probably love it as much as the other readers that have been raving about how amazing it is!
**Thank you, Netgalley, for the digital ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review

Few books grip my attention like this one did. It hooked me from the first chapter and did not let go until the last. Highly recommend this for suspense and thriller fans!

This world definitely needs more writers like Wendy Walker. This is the third book of hers that I have read, and in her true fashion this book had me hooked from the beginning.
Our main character Molly Clarke is on the verge of giving up, she lost her youngest daughter in a terrible tragedy and her oldest daughter blames her, she blames herself and now she believes her husband is having an affair.
What if she just walked away? Would her family’s lives be better if she disappeared? But what happens when she actually does disappear. Molly’s oldest daughter Nicole is grieved with guilt from the last conversation she had with her mother, Nicole is determined to find out what really happened to her mother. There’s just no way she could have walked away and left her family. On her search to find her mother, Nicole’s path crosses with an insane cast of characters.
But can she trust any of them?
I highly recommend adding this to your to be read list and checking out Wendy Walker’s Emma In The Night and The Night Before until this book is published on September 15th.

Molly had problems with her husband, John. Was he having an affair?
Molly drove for 4 hours to see her son, Evan, play football - he avoids her.
Molly's daughter - Nicole- is constantly at Molly's throat - Is Molly that bad?
Molly had run over and killed her youngest child, Annie (by accident) - Molly knows she is a bad wife and mother.
One day, in the midst of a hurricane, Molly decides to leave her family. Maybe it is for the best... However, Molly sees reason and decides that would be an awful mistake. She decides to go home. Her car runs out of gas. A man and his daughter, Alice, offer to drive Molly in order to get out of the torrid rain and help her get gas.
Since the weather is SO bad, they have Molly stay with them for the night. It's only one night - right...
An absolute delight of a book ! Read it in one sitting! Suspense and twists in every page!
A definite MUST READ!!!!!
Many Thanks to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for a superb read!
