I was so excited to read this book since I've loved her other books, and I was not disappointed. This book is everything I love in a thriller. In the beginning I was immediately hooked by the tragic story of Molly and Annie. As a mom of 3 I could imagine what she must have been going through. Later as Nic starts to investigate my mind was jumping around like crazy trying to read between the lines and the subtle cues to figure out who to trust and who not to. I'm not even going to go near the ending because it wouldn't be very thrilling if I gave anything away. I will tell you I stayed up way too late and ignored my said 3 children the next morning in a desperate bid to finish; and I'm still very much a fan of Wendy Walkerⁿ.

Don't Look for Me is Wendy Walker's upcoming new release due out in September. I have loved every book I have read by Wendy Walker ever since Emma in the Night and this one is no exception. It was an absolute page turner. Molly Clarke is on the verge of a breakdown - she lost her youngest daughter in a terrible tragedy and her family blames her, she blames herself and her husband is even having an affair. What if she just walked away? Would anyone miss her? But what happens when she actually disappears- What really happened? Pained with guilt from the last words she spoke to her mother -oldest daughter Nicole is determined to find out what really happened to her mother. There's just no way she could have walked away and left them. On her quest to find her mother, Nicole's path crosses with a crazy cast of characters - but who can she trust? This is just a book your going to have to put on your TBR and read for yourself - I don't want to spoil anything! 5 amazing stars!!!

Don't Look For Me by Wendy Walker is a pacey thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. Ms Walker strikes the perfect balance between gritty family drama and compelling crime story, and I was wholly engaged from the very start.
Molly Clarke has lost her youngest daughter to a tragic accident. Since that horrific day, her family, including husband John and older children, Nicole and Evan, has come undone to such an extent that Molly wonders if she would be doing them all a favour by simply disappearing. And so begins a twisty, diabolical tale that will keep you guessing until the very end, and evaluating the assignation of blame in a family that has been pushed to the very brink.
This is a novel that is multi-layered, warped, and very much unexpected in the best possible way. Recommended.
Many thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC.

This is the first Wendy Walker book I have read and I enjoyed the suspenseful thriller! I loved how the story line was told in alternating view points of Molly and her daughter. Cannot wait to recommend this one! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced copy. I will be reading more of Wendy Walker!!

Molly still blames herself for the accident that killed her daughter. Her family is distraught to find that she has disappeared on her way back from her son’s game. They receive a note that makes them question everything.
This book! Sooo good. It’s unputdownable. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss this one!

Wendy Walker is one of my favorite authors. She stunned me with her first book, All is Not Forgotten. Seriously, it is so good. So every time I get the chance to read her books I am thrilled. She consistently delivers surprising twists and turns, and realistic psychological elements that I just can't get enough of.
Her newest book, Don't Look for Me, is no exception. Molly Clarke is a mother who has had enough. She has suffered a tremendous loss and has not been able to recover. Neither has her family, including her husband who seems to have lost all interest in her, her adult daughter, Nicole, and her college-age son. One night, she disappears and when she can't be located, people start to suspect that she has simply walked away from her life.
Of course, the truth is always more complicated than it seems at first.
I really enjoyed this book, which is told from the perspectives of Molly herself, and her daughter, Nicole, who just refuses to accept the narrative she has been told, that her mother simply abandoned them. There are twists and turns, and most of my theories about what had happened turned out to be completely wrong. Ms. Walker has done it again and written an excellent psychological thriller! I can't wait to read her next book. Also, I am very intrigued by the author's own review on goodreads.com, where she says she has a personal story that inspired this book. I can't wait to hear her story!
**Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC of this book in exchange for this honest review!**

WOW. Not to be dramatic but wow. I did NOT see any of that coming. Had to stop in the middle of reading to order another book from Wendy Walker because this was just that good.
The book starts off with Molly Clarke going to see her son at his game. Due to a tragedy that occurred a few years back her children and her husband can’t forgive her. One night while driving during a terrible storm Molly thinks, maybe I should just disappear and make their lives better? Shortly after, she has disappeared. Everyone believes she has just left her family, but her daughter Nicole decides to keep looking. Nicole receives messages from people coming forward claiming they have information about her mother, but with the huge reward being offered can she really trust anyone?
Without giving away too many spoilers, It was interesting how the book went back and forth through the days until it reached the present day for the alternating characters.
This is such a fast paced psychological thriller that I couldn’t put down. Each chapter revealed more and more but you would never guess what was about to happen.

*4.5 out of 5*
Heart-wrenching is not often something I would associate with when reading my genre(s) of choice; I never thought that I could be genuinely sad while simultaneously being freaked the hell out but, here we are.
I was completely engrossed (like reading-at-work level), Don’t Look For Me is a true-blood thriller and I loved every unsettling twist and turn it had to offer. The characters were relatable, the pace was relentless, and almost every chapter ended with a shock that forced you to read the next one. I thought I knew how this devastating, chilling journey was going to end, I was way wrong. While I am a sucker for a surprise ending, this one was so out of left field that it unbalanced the flow of the entire story for me (hence my rating).
Thank you to Wendy Walker, St. Martins Press, and NetGalley for sending me this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Truly, in the beginning I was not enjoying this book. I have always been a firm believer that some books aren’t read at the right time. So I gave myself a few days before picking it back up again, and I finished it in one day. This was such a well written thriller. It was something different. A strong narrator in a world of unreliable narrators. I loved the complexity - the shades of grey (wink) of the characters and their actions. Overall, this was a strong and fantastic read. I definitely recommend it.

5 stars plus !! Wendy Walker you have done it again !
Could not put the book down, ignored the dog, no time for wine, just one more page !
Don't Look for Me is full of clever twists and turns for the moment Molly disappears one stormy night and the police put it down to a walk away.
But her daughter Nicole has more faith and senses something is not right; her mom would never do that.
That is all I am saying is except run don't walk to get your copy of Don't Look For Me !
Thanks to Net Galley and St Martin's Press for a thrilling read !!!!

This is a heart stopping story about an accident that happens in a family and the fallout of blame, self doubt and trying to keep moving on. The question remains after years of trying to get through the grief would Alice breakdown on a road between home and her sons school and walk away with out a trace?
Even though Nicole has been awful to her mother somewhere deep inside she does not think she would walk away. Nicole promises her brother Evan she will find their mother.
Nicole has a new lead and as a result finds herself in this small town looking for her mother. Where is she? Did she really leave a note saying not to look for her? Is it significant that her mother disappears is on the 5 yr anniversary of her little sister Molly?
The story is well woven together. Thank you Netgalley for complimentary copy. Thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wendy Walker is a master of the unexpected ...an accomplished and incredible versatile storyteller. This book had me captivated from page one and I needed this escape from reality right now.
Many thanks to St. Martin’s Press and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

It is just absolutely heartbreaking what happened to this family. The characters were so well-done. I cared so much about each and every member of the Clarke family. Molly Clarke and her family are still reeling from the death of the youngest member of their family 5 years later. Of course they are.
How does one even cope with something so horrific? It is further complicated by blame and guilt. The family is broken. But are they beyond hope?
It probably felt that way the day that Molly walked in the rain contemplating walking away from it all. But would she really do that? Would she really walk away from her family?
This was one intense and emotional page-turner! I said in a recent review that I want characters in the books that I read, to break my heart over and over again... I'm a sadist that way. And that is EXACTLY what I got with this book! I got totally wrecked - mascara dripping, sniffling, but still speed flipping pages kind of ruined.
And can I tell you, when little Alice entered the story - as implausible as it would have been - I was sitting there thinking, it's Annie! She was somehow stolen from the scene or the hospital or... No, it wouldn't make sense, but I so badly wanted what had happened to them to be undone!
And THEN after all this turmoil, they must endure more! Would their MOTHER put this family through more??? What do you think? Are you a mother?
I related so much to the characters and loved them and let them break my heart while I tore through page after page of this wonderful suspenseful thriller.
Loved it.
MY RATING:
Characters: 5
Story: 4.5
Overall: 5 stars (technically 4.75 but come on that's ridiculous)

Holy crap. 4am. That was the time I finished this pulsating book! If you need a major distraction with the world right now, this is it!
Molly Clarke is a mom who feels neglected and unloved. And when she disappears everyone seems to think she left on her own accord. But where did she go? That is the question her daughter Nic tries to answer by traveling to the place where her mom was last seen.
I honestly was hesitant to read this because I read another book by the author and wasn't too impressed. This had a few gripes(repetition) but it was far more twisty and turn then I expected and I didn't see the twist...or the next twist coming.
Not going to reveal any more about the plot because you need to go into it blind. Grab your favorite beverage and prepare not to get any sleep until you finish this one! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the arc.

I've been in a reading slump lately but this book reminded me why I love thrillers so much. I was completely hooked from the very first page and I never lost that interest. This book is everything I love about thrillers and more. It is creepy. Very creepy. There was this sense of impending doom and dread that just kept growing and growing. The characters are creepy as heck (I'm looking at you Alice) and just so cleverly written. I've never read anything by Wendy Walker before, but after reading this, I will for sure be checking out her other books.
Going into this I hadn't read any reviews. I honestly didn't know much about the book and that worked in my favor. As I say for most of my reviews, it's best to go in blind for this one. I'm not even sure how I would go about explaining the plot because I don't want to give anything away. It's layered, complex, sad, and it's just an excellent book. The pacing never let up and I felt like the story was always moving forward. There are some twists which is to be expected, but this book doesn't rely on them. There isn't some promise of a huge, jaw dropping twist that only ends up being ridiculous. This book didn't need it and I'm pleased with how everything was revealed. I found myself trying to figure everything out, but I honestly couldn't. Also, everything made sense. In my opinion, there wasn't anything that happened that was thrown in just for shock value. This story is packed with tension and that sense of dread I mentioned earlier. I found myself holding my breath for some parts. I did want to briefly single out one character who I found to be the most compelling. Without giving anything away, I just want to say that Alice has to be one of the best written characters. She is complex, layered, and it was so interesting to read about her.
I always talk about endings because they make or break a book. This one is done perfectly. It's not thrown together or rushed. Honestly, this is one of my favorite books I've read so far this year. It brought me out of my reading slump. This is a multifaceted story with characters that are some of the best written ones I've read in awhile. I was creeped out until the last page (again, I'm looking at you Alice). I read this one in two nights because I was just that hooked. I 100% recommend this book if you are a fan of psychological thrillers or just thrillers in general. This has just the right stuff in it.
Many thanks to the St. Martin's Press team at NetGalley for the digital review copy!

I enjoyed this fast paced psychological thriller. It was a classic case of who done it but with many interesting twists. Every time I thought I had it figured out, something would happen to make me change my mind. It’s was everything I look for in a well written thriller.
When Molly Clarke’s car breaks down on the side the road in the middle of a hurricane, she realizes how easy it would be to just walk away from it all. Walk away from her husband, who doesn’t love her, the daughter who hates her, the son who ignores her and of course the daughter she killed. But when a stranger and his young daughter stop to pick her up, she quickly realizes she doesn’t want to run away and takes the ride they offer. She soon realizes that this is a grave mistake that she is actually a prison who cannot escape. With eyes everywhere she has to take care of the little girl and plan he escape.
Nicole Clarke is troubled, burdened by the lose of her younger sister she takes up drinking and one night stands. But when her mother goes missing, everyone else thinks she walked away but Nicole knows her mother wouldn’t just walk away and leave her two surviving children. Nicole starts a search for her mother and begins uncovering secrets in the small town where her mother disappeared. Will she find her mother before it’s too late or will she become the next victim?

“Don’t Look for Me”—Wendy Walker [5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️] I’ve read other books from this author that I really enjoyed, and this one was no different. This was a fast-paced psychological thriller that gripped me right from the beginning all the way to the end. This book was full of suspense, twists and turns, and had you questioning every character. Molly Clarke’s family hasn’t been the same since the tragic accident of her daughter five years ago. On the way home from her son’s football game, a bad storm hits, Molly runs out of gas, and is stuck on the side of the road. A man and his young daughter stop to help her, she gets in the truck, and then she disappears. As the police investigate the incident, they make it seem that this is just another case of someone deciding to just abandon their family. Molly’s daughter Nicole is adamant that her mother would not just pick up and walk away from her, her brother, and father after all they’ve been through. Nicole starts to do her own investigation in the small town of Hastings but she doesn’t know who she can trust. Everyone she meets keeps sending mixed signals and is confusing her more and more as details keep getting revealed. Will Nicole find out the truth of what actually happened to her mother? This story shifts between the perspectives of Molly and Nicole and was so well-done to help us understand what’s going on. I highly recommend this book when it comes out in September if you’re a fan of a great psychological thriller 👍🏼 *Thank you to @netgalley and @stmartinspress for providing me with a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review*

4 stars. A pretty quick, action packed read. Molly and her family experience an unimaginable loss that results in major changes within herself, her marriage, and her family dynamic. Molly disappears and now her family must determine if she left on her own accord or if she was taken. The story is told between alternative perspectives and speaks of the past and the present. It seems as though every small town has its secrets, and Hastings is no different. I loved the pacing of the story as well as how emotions were conveyed to the readers! Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

"Don’t Look for Me", introduces us to Molly Clarke a woman reeling from a tragic loss trying desperately to keep her family together. After the death of her 9 year old daughter five years before Molly is returning from her son Evan’s football game and there is a storm brewing outside as well as in the car. Molly has just been snubbed by her teen son after driving hours to his boarding school. Her twenty something daughter Nicole, once the golden child has slipped into a life of partying to numb her own pain. Molly fights with her daughter and is ignored by her husband and drowning in guilt. So when Molly’s car is found abandoned on the side of the road, and note reading the titled words, is found with her clothes in a hotel room, it’s not hard to imagine that maybe she decided to step away from her life. Her daughter Nicole is not ready to accept this. With a strange phone call barely two weeks after her mother’s disappearance she sets out to look for her.
Wendy Walker’s Novel grabs you and keeps you reading. Walker explores more than just the mystery of a missing woman but lives her absence affects. "Don’t look for Me" is every bit a thriller but with smart and realistic characters. This is a must read.

Thank you to #Netgalley and @StMartinsPress for an advanced copy of Don't Look For Me.
This is my second Wendy Walker book, having read The Night Before last year - which I loved. Don't Look For Me did not disappoint, another excellent thriller!!
Molly Clark is in a bad place emotionally. Her youngest daughter is dead, her husband has distanced himself from their relationship and her 2 older kids don't want anything to do with her. As she's driving home one stormy night she considers just disappearing, perhaps everyone would be happy again?
Well Molly disappears alright and her daughter, Nicole seems to be the only one still willing to look for her.
.
The story is told from both Molly and Nicole's perspectives and it was really fitting for this book. Great twists and turns kept me up late!!
Definitely recommend Don't Look For Me, comes out on September 15, pick it up as soon as you can!
