Wendy Walker has painted a picture of evil lurking where you least expect it. Don't Look for Me is compulsively readable and fills the need for a great suspense book.

Molly Clarke can't forgive herself for the accident that took her daughter's life so when she disappears during a storm on her way home from her son's football game her family is devastated but accepting that she has chosen to leave them. I thought this would be a story of a woman who can't forgive herself for the affects of the accident on her marriage and her family, and her resulting journey of discovery and forgiveness. I was so wrong. This was story that was emotional and heart wrenching on many levels as Molly tries to stay alive while her family or someone finds her and saves her from her captor and his young daughter. A cleverly written psychological thriller that keeps the reader enthralled to the last page. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Fast paced thriller. I could feel the beats of my heart as I was reading this. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what was going to happen next. Definitely a favorite of the year.

I’d say a strong 3.5 stars so I’m rounding up.

It was a little hard for me to get into this one because it started off a little bit like other domestic fiction novels I’m so tired of. But I stuck with it and it didn’t disappoint. There were lots of twists and I have to admit I was stumped. There was a bit at the end I thought was a bit far fetched and that the author pulled out of thin air. However I ultimately enjoyed this first foray into Wendy Walker’s books and I’m sure I’ll try another one soon.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

I didn't enjoy Don't Look for Me, but that's a failure of expectation more than a failure of the book. I went into Wendy Walker's latest novel thinking it would be a thriller like Emma in the Night. Instead, this is a suspense novel—which is a perfectly fine thing to be if it's what you go in expecting, but something that falls short of the exciting ride I was hoping for when I started reading.

This book was brutal on the feels. I, for one, can never imagine the horror of killing my own child, even by accident. This book was very well executed, leaving you wondering what the hints were and trying to remember anything you might have missed as she weaves a tale of deception, mystery, terror, and intrigue. I had to read this book in one afternoon. I couldn't stand not knowing what was going to happen. The only one I still don't know what to make of is Alice. I know she is a little girl but is she a sociopath or just a product of her environment. Either way, I absolutely loved this book.

I wasn’t sure she’d ever be able, from my reading experience, to top EMMA IN THE NIGHT but, alas, I think DON’T LOOK FOR ME may be my new favorite novel by Wendy Walker. I am always excited for her new releases, but this one seemed to come at just the right time and I could hardly put it down! ⁣

If you have enjoyed other novels by Wendy Walker, need a page-turning read to help you escape, or can never resist excellent thrillers, you should definitely give this one a try!

WHAT IN THE HOLY HELL DID I JUST READ?! My third Walker and by far my favorite. I literally still have goosebumps all over my body from that last line and I can't even tell you how many times my mouth fell open while reading this book. Hold on, I need just a moment to collect my thoughts......

Ok, WTF?!?!

Ok, I'm still not composed but whatever - let's TALK ABOUT THIS BOOK. From start to finish, I carefully read each and every word. I sometimes reread certain parts because I was trying so hard to figure out who was what and where and this and that and ... oh boy, I'm losing it again.

I am thoroughly impressed with how this was all put together. Every single nuance and red herring. Geebus - I almost feel manipulated! All of these characters are just WOW - some are so eerily chilling that I don't know if I ever want to be around someone with that name ever again. EVER. AGAIN.

Words... I don't have them. All I can say is that you absolutely need to read this. Like now. Stop whatever you're doing and READ THIS BOOK IMMEDIATELY. I'm in a full on book hangover right now and don't know what to do with myself. Where's Nic? I need to go get a drink with her. She can have the vodka and I'll take the bourbon. Please and thank you. Kurt, pour me a double!

+Walker, Wendy, Don’t Look for Me is a compelling, twisty mystery about a woman who disappears in a storm on her way home from a visit to her son. She’s still grieving the loss of her youngest child who she accidentally killed when the girl ran into the street as her mother turned the corner. The man she thought was rescuing her has kept her captive and now her family may be in danger if they find her. This is an absorbing psychological thriller.

Molly Clarke runs out of gas and the next day her car is found abandoned near a gas station. Has she left her family, or did something happen to her? The interesting twist of Don’t Look for Me is that what happened to Molly isn’t really the mystery of the book – this character is one of the narrators of the story. Molly’s story unfolds in parallel as her daughter Nicole returns to the small town where her mother’s abandoned car was found. Don’t Look for Me is well paced and full of questions as Nicole begins her own investigation into her mother’s disappearance. Who is telling the truth? Who can she trust? This one kept me guessing until the end.

I received a copy of DON’T LOOK FOR ME by WENDY WALKER. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Five Stars and here’s why:

WOW! If I could have given it 20 stars I would! Total book hangover. I read this book from start to finish – I simply could not put it down. Wendy Walker takes her readers on a wild ride. Just when you think you know what’s going to happen there’s a plot twist, then another, and pretty soon you’ve got whiplash trying to solve this mystery. Total surprise ending that had my head reeling. I thought about this book days after I read it.

If you like excellent writing with a master storyteller, this book is for you. Highly recommend.

This was an odd story, trying to hard to be twisty and really not succeeding. And the ending was so strange.

MY REVIEW: 4 Stars ⭐️

I quite enjoyed this book, it was a very quick read as I didn’t want to put it down!

Molly leaves home one night and I can’t say I blame her. Molly’s husband and two children treat her like crap since their other child died

When Molly leaves home and they only find her car, phone and a note, they start to care. Too little too late.. where did she go ....

Told in two POV’s: Molly and daughter Nic who is still trying to find her, we get caught up in a crazy game with crazy people.

This is one of the best books I have read this year. The writing is great. The suspense has you on the edge of your seat and biting your nails until the very last paragraph. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good suspense read.

Molly Clarke is on her way back from visiting her son at boarding school when she runs out of gas in the middle of a storm in the small town of Hastings, Connecticut. When a man driving a truck pulls over and offers her a ride she accepts, mostly because there’s a little girl in the truck who reminds her of her own younger daughter who died in a tragic accident.

Two weeks later, Molly’s older daughter, Nic, doesn’t agree with the police and her father that Molly walked away from them. Despite the note left in a hotel and charges on her credit card, Nic thinks something else has happened. But Nic also feels a large amount of guilt for the way she left things with Molly the morning of her disappearance, and is determined to find out what really happened. So when a woman calls and says she thinks she saw Molly get into a truck, Nic heads to Hastings to follow the only lead they have.

Don’t Look For Me by Wendy Walker alternates between Molly, as she tries to figure out what the man who picked her up is really up to, and Nic, not really sure who in Hastings she can trust. There are holes in the story of the woman who claims to have seen her mother, and other things that just don’t add up. She also has her father begging her to give up and come home.

This book is nice and twisty; I was positive I knew who the man was and I was wrong. There is another surprise at the end that I didn’t love, but definitely made the story a little more unique, as far as how things are connected.

Obviously I’m being vague to not give anything away, sometimes knowing there’s a twist is a spoiler in itself. But I think it’s pretty clear that things aren’t always as they seem in Don’t Look For Me.

Don't Look for Me by Wendy Walker pulled me in from the very beginning. I read the ebook and listened to the audio book. Both formats were great, although I preferred the audio. The narrator was fantastic. The author wrote some unexpected twists and had some interesting characters. I did not see the ending come. I really enjoyed the story.
