Molly Clark drove the car that hit and killed her nine year old daughter. Her family began disintegrating that day. It is now five years later and she is driving home from her son’s football game in a severe storm. She runs out of gas and leaves the car to walk a short distance to a gas station. While walking she mentally speculates on the benefits of not going home, but simply disappearing and leaving behind all her unhappiness. Shortly thereafter a truck stops and the driver and his daughter offer her a ride to town. This is basically the beginning of the psychological thriller about a missing woman and her rebellious daughter’s attempts to find her. No one is what they appear to be and even Molly shows strength one would not expect her to have. Good reading. Thanks to Net Galley and St. Martin’s Press for an ARC for an honest review.

An unexpected twist is always welcome when reading a fast-paced thriller such as this one. Wendy Walker does a fantastic job of writing from the point-of-view of her main characters in this book including that of Molly and her daughter Nic. The Clarke family has never gotten over the death of the youngest daughter that day that Mom Molly accidentally killed her with the family vehicle. Although it was an accident, the two remaining children and Molly's husband treat her like absolute trash. It's no wonder Molly ran away from her own family. But did she? Clues in a small town all point to Molly picking up and leaving, but Molly's side of the story tells otherwise. This book is absolutely heart-stopping and will have you reading into the wee hours of the night. Every page is 100% worth it.

Thank you to Netgalley, Wendy Walker, and St. Martin's Press for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Don't Look For Me by Wendy Walker is a novel sure to keep readers in suspense, hungry for more as they keep turning pages. The perfect mystery full of twists and turns, this pyschological thriller was such a great read.

After everything she has been through in the last several years, Molly Clarke wonders what it would be like to escape from the pain and leave everything she has ever known. When her car runs out of gas on the way home from her son's football game, right in the middle of an awful storm, she wonders for a quick second if it was a sign. A sign to leave it all behind because she knew everyone would be better off without her. However, desperate to get out of the darkness that filled Hasting's, the small town she found herself stuck in, she jumps at the first opportunity she gets to catch a ride with someone. However, the occupants of this car are not what they seem, and though Molly can't exactly put her finger on it, she's worried. Worried for her life.

I have been getting into thrillers recently, and this novel did not disappoint me one bit! I found myself captivated by Mick, or Reyes, and I wanted to learn more about what was going on inside his head. Walker did a great job portraying each of the characters in all of their goodness and badness, and the entire plot was fluid and cohesive. Once I got into this book, I couldn't put it down! The plot twists that Walker weaved throughout the book absolutely got to me, and I was shocked at how the story turned on several occasions.

I would highly recommend Don't Look For Me to anyone looking for a great thriller to read. I cannot wait to see where this book goes once it is published later this year.

Molly didn’t have the best relationship with her husband or adult children however she loved them dearly. An accident years before that resulted in the death of their younger sister had torn this family apart. When Molly turns up missing her family initially write her off as someone who walked away from the sorrows of their lives, after all a note was left saying this. But did Molly actually write this note? This book follows Molly who is being held captive to parent a small child she does not know, and her daughter who has come back to the town she was last seen in because she feels something isn’t quite right. These characters are wonderfully developed and the story told was fantastic. There were many plot twists and turns and suspense. I highly recommend this read.

ATTENTION! Readers that enjoy thrillers pick up a Wendy Walker Tale. I have read Emma in the Night and Night Before previously; both excellent! It is true to life when tragedy strikes - a person has to deal with going on or running away. Molly Clarke had her heart explode into shards when she hit and killed her nine year old daughter with her car. Guilt and the ramifications of this act tore her family apart. On a storm ridden night - out of gas - on a desolate road - Molly leaves her car and phone behind. Where did she go? Pages tell the journey of her daughter Nicole and her quest to locate the mother who left a note "Don't Look for Me". "A copy of this book was provided by St. Martin's Press via Netgalley with not requirments for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." READ WITH THE LIGHTS ON!

The Appleseed 🍏 Song....
“Oh the Lord is good to me.
And so I thank the lord.
For giving me the things I need:
The sun and the rain and the appleseed;
The Lord is good to me”.

“Oh the earth is good to me.
And so I thank the earth,
For giving me the things I need:

“The guilt will never leave me. I will never leave my family”.....
The above little quote rhymes

I enjoyed this page turning ‘creepy-is-as-creepy-is’ story.

“The car abandoned just before the gas station.
Out of gas.
Nothing inside but her cell phone, attached to the charger. Every field, every home, everywhere searched and searched.
Then, two days later, a credit card used at a nearby casino resort.
And her clothes, still wet, found in the hotel room—along with the note.
The note which explained everything—and nothing”.

A walk-away theory:
“Most adult women who disappear were trying to leave their lives behind”.
Hm??? 🧩

I say no more!

Another great one from Wendy! Wooooo! The story is primarily around a family that has endured an unspeakable tragedy and the story further explores the strength of familial bonds and our capacity for forgiveness—all while keeping the reader on the edge of her seat, quickly turning pages until the exciting conclusion. This one grabbed me from page one and did not let go. I especially enjoyed reading the story from the two different perspectives of Molly & Nicole. Everything worked to keep me caught in the story from beginning to end and it was refreshing that there were some twists that I didn't predict! I love how the author manages to write with such empathy and soul. I always love her books and this was no exception!

This was a fast-paced thriller which had several twists. The ending definitely threw me which is always a good thing. I didn’t connect with any of the characters but still found this an enjoyable read, especially if you’re into the thriller genre.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to preview Wendy Walker's new novel Don't Look For Me. A woman running from a terrible incident from 5 years ago is still haunted. She is driving a deserted road and runs out of gas. In her thoughts, she wants to run away - from her husband, her children, from everything. And who would miss her - they wouldn't. They blame her for taking away a precious member of their family. As she contemplates the future, a truck stops and offers her a ride. Why not, but as she pulls away and the locks on the truck block exit, she realizes that something is wrong - very wrong.
This is a good book - Walker takes you into the minds of the characters and will keep you guessing till the end.
Very good - 4 stars.

Molly Clarke lost her 9 yea old daughter to a tragic accident 5 years ago. Her oldest daughter has gone off the rails. Her son pretends not to know her. Her husband is likely having an affair. Then Molly goes missing. Did she just simply walk away or was she taken? This is the fourth Wendy Walker book I've read and the fourth book I couldn't put down! I HAD to know what was happening! Twists, turns and surprises behind every corner! Thank you so much for the ARC!

Holy wow! This book took me by surprise! There are two types of thrillers, those that focus only on mystery and suspense and those that add in the extra element of character development. I enjoy both types of thrillers, but this one definitely falls into the later category. The struggles each character was experiencing prior to the events of the book pervades all of their decisions. As for the suspense aspect, Walker does this flawlessly. It was almost as though the entire novel was shrouded in a deep gray and sepia fog. The pace of the novel was perfect. I felt on edge the entire time, but never rushed or bored. This is hands down one of the best books I have read this year and one of the best thrillers I have read in quite some time. A very easy five out of five stars from me.

Holy. Cow. Slow clap. I almost hate giving this a 5 star rating and raving review just because now everyone reading this will have to wait in anticipation until the September release date to enjoy this magnificent work of art by Wendy Walker.

This book had my interest peaked me at the very first sentence! I was immediately engaged and obsessed and poured over the book until I found myself on more twists than a rollercoaster. Walker does a wonderful job making you think you have it all figured out but then pulling these curveballs out of left field! Excellent piece. Will definitely be rereading!

Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book! I haven’t read a thriller in a while so it was a nice change of pace. Molly goes missing during a storm and is presumed to have taken off and abandoned her family. There’s a note and a credit card charge for a night in a hotel. They close the case. But Molly’s daughter doesn’t believe it. I didn’t give this 5 stars because I felt like it was a little ridiculous that Molly’s daughter Nicole was able to solve the mystery before any cop in Hastings. But I couldn’t put it down so I did enjoy it.

O.M.Goodness!!! What a great read!!!! This is the third Wendy Walker book that I have read and I've got to say, that each one is better the one before. With 'DON'T LOOK FOR ME' I became a read-aholic. I even read on my phone as I walked the dog. I had to know NOW what was going to happen. And I was not disappointed. Again, a great book, start to finish.
