This is a cute travel guide for children to Naples Italy and Gracie, a Cocker Spaniel, is your guide. Gracie takes you to tourist spots and those off the beaten path. The book is fun and informative. However like others I felt that some of the pages were a too cluttered with text and pictures. Overall children will enjoy the armchair trip to Naples.

I absolutely loved this book, from the gorgeous and charming artwork to the snippets of Neapolitan life, to the corners of the city so close to my heart. I'm also a huge dog lover, so reading this from the Parthenopean pup's perspective was also very special!! It's a travel guide like no other.

I actually write this review from bella Napoli herself - I live in Rome and my partner comes from Naples so we spend a lot of time here. I really enjoyed seeing familiar sights in this book as well as getting inspiration for new spots to visit. I'd love to frame some of the pages for my wall, especially the pizza one! My favourite pizzeria in town is Di Matteo by the way :P
I wish I could give this more than five stars!

This is a sweet story of a dog named Gracie who is exploring the city of Naples, Italy. She takes us around the city and introduces us to the places and cultural experiences that make Naples such a wonderful place to visit. You get to learn some vocabulary and some history as well.

The drawings are very sweet and cute. But I found it kind of hard to read the text. It's all handwritten and kind of mushed into the illustrations. It makes the pages seem cluttered. I think this would be much better if each of these pages was split into two. Then you could read it and appreciate it much more. I would have ranked it higher if I could have read it more easily, because it definitely has some great potential here.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for fulfilling my review request. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

"The Gracie Guide to Naples" can best be described as a sort of graphic novel. The text has the appearance of handwriting, and the charming colorful illustrations add interest to the story. Told from Gracie the dog's point of view, the book takes readers on a rollicking and humorous visit through the city of Naples, just as the title suggests. Adults and children alike will enjoy this little guidebook to the famous city, with the added joy of a "dog's eye view" of things. You do not have to be a traveler to appreciate this little gem of a story (although my "old eyes" had some trouble with reading the closely written text with its appearance of handwriting).
I received this book from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Unfortunately was only able to download into a format that I couldn't read. It is a protected PDF that is not readable. I tried on multiple devices.

A really nice visual of images and writing to show the adventures of Gracie the dog in Naples. Really nice to teach about the city.

The Gracie Guide to Naples is a travel guide written from the point of view of a dog showing the most important locations to visit and includes facts about the places. It has adorable illustrations and is geared toward children. I loved this book so much. I'm Sicilian but I spent a significant portion of my childhood living in Naples. This book truly captured the essence of Naples. It got every detail of the city, the landmarks, and the people. Reading this took me back to my fond memories of Naples and made me so happy. This reads like a lot of care was put in this story and it's obvious the author lived in Naples for some time. It captures the small details and the beauty of everyday life in Naples. My only complaint is the font choice was not my favorite and was hard to read at times. Overall, this was such a wonderful read and I definitely want to check out the other books in the series.

Gracie, an English Cocker Spaniel, has written an illustrated, fun guide to all that Naples, Italy has to offer. At only 48 pages, the book starts off by providing us with a little bit of history of Naples, but soon Gracie goes on to tell us about famous areas we may see when we visit as well as places to eat and shop. But to truly understand and appreciate this city Gracie also gives us a taste of what life is like there and what to expect when visiting, such as what may happen to you when you stop at a red light while in your car.

Gracie isn’t all about tourist spots. She is happy to show off her home and her daily life not to mention all her friends. Naples truly has a lot to offer.

Here are some of the things readers will notice when reading the book:

- Each page has several illustrations on it – some big and some small showing all the various things Gracie is telling us about. There is one page where the pictures includes lots of arrows going every whichaway as they point out all the things people do on Motorini’s. I think I counted 11 different Motorini drawings on this page.

-The primary colors for the illustrations as well as the outlined/highlighted words are pink, bright green, and yellow. Although there are definitely other colors used they are not as dominant on the pages.

- The words are in all caps and appear to be hand-written. Because it is hand-written the text sometimes has a flow of its own as it helps highlight illustrations on the page, but sometimes the text also can feel a little bunched up. When there is an important phrase, famous place, or word that the author wants to draw attention to it is written over in pink, green, or yellow.

Overall, the short book has a lot of information to offer and can be fun to young readers. I think there will be some kids who really like having a book with a different look inside. However, I did miss having the words in mixed case, which is easier to read due to us reading not only the letters but the overall shape of the word.
