A very descriptive and engaging book on animals. It’s like a mini thesaurus for kids describing the different movements and actions of animals. The illustrations really capture the animals movements. Parents or kids can read to kids the simple text and then parents can expand and offer the snippets from the corner facts. My children loved animal books like this growing up. They wanted fun and entertaining but this also had a eagerness for actual facts. This books complements those requests perfectly. I also like how they offered a unique animal variety and didn’t just focus on the familiar ones.

What an adorable book. The educational aspect of non-fiction mixed with the fun of fiction make this book a must read. The illustrations are also magnificent; some of the best I've seen in a while. I will be purchasing this book because I know all three of my kids will enjoy it (ages 2,4 & 6). There is a diverse array of animals present in this book, and that kept me both engaged and learning. The pronunciations available for some animal names was also a delightful touch, as well as the back pages with additional animal info. Great for kids (or adults!) who want to go deeper. All in all, this is a a great book that I would buy, recommend, and purchase as a gift for someone else.

This is a fun science-themed book that teaches kids how the way animals play prepares them for life. A wide variety of animals are included and kids will be able to extrapolate how other animals use the same play (for instance, knowing how playing tug-of-war in the wild helps wolves will teach them how it helps their pet dog) and will also be able to understand how their own play prepares them for adulthood, helps keep them healthy, teaches them important social skills, and more.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.

I adored this book! The illustrations are beautiful and the facts were informative, as well as entertaining. I read this book to my little sister (8) and she asked to borrow my kindle to read it two more times by herself.

What I enjoy most about this book are the illustrations. I think they are beautiful and I love how you can see all the different strokes. The dolphins and elephants are stunning! Overall this is a fun, educational book for young kids with a love for animals.

What a GREAT children's book.

The artwork was intricate and beautiful. Plenty of details for children to look at and explore. I can see how this will help lead discussion.

As a mother of a 3-year-old who is constantly asking why, this book answers those questions about many animals. Some of the animals my child is familiar with and some will be new to him. Each page highlights the actions animals do that humans can do as well. Like sliding, jumping, etc. These are great ways to keep your little one active while reading and use association with words and their meanings. Then, it goes further and explains WHY an animal would do that action.

This book could easily be incorporated into an interactive and extensive story time or lesson plan. I can also see how it will grow with my child. The last few pages have more information about the animals mentioned and suggestions for playing like an animal. I personally cannot wait to develop some great "lesson plans" of my own to keep my son entertained beyond your typical play or reading.

Gorgeous illustrations. Interesting facts! This book describes why animals do what they do. Children are sure to learn many interesting tidbits through these pages. Fun and informative, this book would be a wonderful addition to any animal lovers bookshelf.

This is a very cute children’s book. I love that it encourages outdoor play and discusses the benefits of play. The illustrations are also beautiful. My only critique is that the red boxes containing facts were not visually appealing on some of the pages. I think a lighter or more muted color would be less distracting. Otherwise, great work!
