A gripping read with plenty of action, twists and turns. Recommended.

Rather distanced and stolid recounting of nearly incredible events of a super powerful sex trafficker, and his derailing of every international law and police system over against a shift-shaping attorney using hardly credulous means of combating him ... in a way, it’s the reporting voice that helps ground the unreal contortions of the combative attorney and the cartoon like characters - so it just about works! Stay with it, and you’ll see ...

Revenge is best served cold only this story left me cold. Taking years to formulate a plan for a revenge including plastic surgery was just so unbelievable this story lost me. Being able to gather the best surgeon who could change finger prints then the incredible computer hacker that was able to go anywhere in the virtual world.
Thanks to NetGalley I have given an honest opinion

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review.

The main character in the book is Chicago-based U.S. Attorney, Abby Toth, who becomes involved with a global sex trafficking ring headed by Ivan Horvat. She is handling the attempted murder prosecution of the undercover cop, John Brannigan, who infiltrated the ring, but turned dirty. Federal agents had their suspicions, and placed an undercover agent to catch Brannigan. Horvat discovers the true identity of the Federal agent, and orders Brannigan to kill the agent. He attacks and beats her severely, leaving her for dead.

Once Brannigan realizes Horvat will never let him live, he accepts his fate and spills the beans about everything he knows, on the condition that his fellow dirty cops are given immunity. Once he talks, Abby knows the inner workings of the ring. As predicted, Horvat kills Brannigan and the assumption is he will do the same to Abby. Instead, he frames her for the murder of her best friend, bombs her house and discredits her. She is found guilty of murder, and that’s where the whole story just falls apart for me.

Her transport is ambushed on the way to prison, and Abby is freed. She then undergoes plastic surgery and spends five years plotting how to take down Horvat. Her new persona is also a lawyer, and she becomes the lawyer to the underworld, never losing herself in the process. It’s an implausible scenario, totally unbelievable and repetitive. Each time she enlists someone new to help, the whole story is repeated. And the ending is just too unbelievably ridiculous. So, as you can see, I didn’t much care for the plot or the flow of the story. The characters, including Abby, just didn’t grab my attention.

Abby Toth is a highly respected prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office located in Chicago. She is pursuing a case against Ivan Horvath who is a big time sex trafficker. Jon Brannigan , an undercover cop, who took money from Ivan has been arrested and charged with assault of a Federal Agent. He is offered a deal and with his testimony, she expects to finally have Ivan brought to court to face charges. Things do not go as planned with Jon Brannigan being murdered and Abby being convicted of the murder of her friend Casey. She was framed, and while being transferred to prison, she was rescued by her friend Des.

Abby at that point made it her priority to bring Ivan down and to clear her name even though everyone belied she had died. Abby had plastic surgery and changed her name. She schemed to work her way into Ivan's organization and bring it down. The plan she devised was masterful and everything fll into place

Here is a story with many twists and turns Chicago based U.S. Attorney Abby Toth is going after a criminal in her city who deals in human trafficking as well as money laundering and many other crimes. He sets her up that she killed her friend and when she manages to get away she works for years to set him up to pay for all of his crimes. Ivan Horvat must pay but how to go about it? He is very smart but she must be smarter.

Whew! Nail biting hold on to your chair suspense. Crime bosses, money laundering, lawyers, dark web, Machiavellian maneuvers and a lifetime of plotting revenge fill the pages of his book. No spoilers so 'nuff said.' Jacket cover describes basic plot. Characters are conversational and none are very likeable, even when they work inside the law, but it will keep you reading .
I received this book as a complimentary copy for an unbiased review. The opinions expressed are my own. Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC.

This book has a little strange plot and story, and it's not very well written. The language is stilted and a lot of the dialogue seems unnatural. It is a novel, but the entertainment value for me is close to zero.

The ending was excellent. You need to read this book to find out how it all went down, you will be amazed.

This was a great read that was filled with tons of suspense that kept me guessing until the very last page. I really enjoyed this, as the characters were well developed and the plot moved at a great pace, not too fast or too slow. I can't wait to read more from this author!
