Rylan is a navy SEAL who finds himself in over his head when a baby appears at his door. Unsure of where the baby came from and the mother he needs to find out where she went and why she left but until then the baby needs to be cared for so he asks Amber for help. They both relationship is complicated but they'll work together to keep this child safe as its clear someone is out to get her.
I really enjoyed this book! I loved seeing the mystery progressed wondering where the baby came from, how the child came to be where Rylan was staying. There is just so much questions you can help but read on and see as things slowly but surely get revealed. But as they go on its clear someone is out to get the child so readers couldn't help but wonder when the person would strike next, what is thier relationship to the child, why are they even after the child. Then there was the bit of connection between the two main characters to also keep things interesting. There is so much to love and enjoy about this book and I recommend you lovely readers come check it out for yourself.

This is the fifth book in the Rushing Creek Crime Spree series by Barb Han. In the Harlequin Books Intrigue line.
Basic premise: A baby is left on Rylan’s doorstep with the quick message that he was the kid’s father. He enlists his friend, Amber to help him which was good since he had no idea how to take care of a baby. Later after an investigation they realize this baby is wanted by some underhanded people and Rylan and Amber have to keep her safe before the bad guys take her and disappear.
I never quite understood how this lady who had Rylan’s baby ended up pregnant in the first place. Rylan didn’t remember the situation which meant he was probably drugged and based on his character I doubt he would have went willing into this situation.
Once you get into the story, it just flies by and before you realize, it is over. I totally loved the characters here and the Kent family is one that deserves to be dug into a bit more thoroughly.
The whodunit/what the heck is going on aspect of this is really intriguing and kept me interested all the way through. I am not normally the type of person who reads about babies in books but this one was worth the attention. Definitely an author to keep your eye on for future books!
If you love a good romantic suspense, definitely check this one out . You won’t be disappointed.
I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

I will leave a review on Amazon or B&N on April 21, 2020
What She Knew by Barb Han, was a very fast read for me. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Rylan and Amber. Romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres and this one didn't disappoint. Hopefully there will be more books in the series and we can revisit this family. I would certainly recommend it to others.
I received an Advanced Readers Copy from NetGalley and Harlequin, and this is my fair and honest review.

What She Knew by Barb Han is a romantic suspense with a second chance theme. I think it is a part of a series but stands well on its own. Amber has five brothers and I suspect they each had their own book. You learn enough about them in this book to want to read their stories.
Rylan reaches out to Amber when someone drops a baby off at his front door and says he is the father. Rylan and Amber and Amber’s brother had all been friends. Rylan went through a bad period and ended up joining the service. He is back in his home town trying to make retribution.
The mystery of why the baby was dropped off is what kept me reading and guessing. And why someone was trying to take her from Rylan.
I am a fan of Han’s and I have read several of her books. I do not consider this on her best work. So if it is your first book to read please read another one before making any decisions on if you like her writing. This one seemed to repeat a lot of the same information.
Triggers: Amber had a miscarriage earlier in her life.
Sexual content – one physical scene
Language – d@mn – 29 times,
Alcohol/drugs – Rylan had a drinking problem but is clean now.

What She Knew was a fast read with great characters. The intrigue didn't quite get there for me, though. It started out well, but somewhere in the middle, it fell apart with the author telling me the answers more than just letting them be revealed naturally through dialogue and time. In fact, one whole part of the mystery was never answered at the end. I'm somewhat sure there's another book coming and that's why, but it was frustrating to finish the book and have that left unknown.
The romance, however, was spot on. I loved the second chance story between Amber and Rylan, complicated by Rylan's baby girl he didn't know he had. Amber's family was wonderful and I definitely wish I had read the first 4 of this series to know their secrets and stories, but you can read What She Knew as a stand-alone with no problems.
Though I wish the intrigue had held up through the whole of the book, I did love the relationship building between Amber, Rylan, and the secrets that were revealed about them both. If you love a fast-paced second chance romance with a little bit of mystery thrown in to keep things interesting, you'll love What She Knew!
