Calling all my fellow The Simple Wild Fans. Wild at Heart is officially out in the world!
Thank you @socialbutterfly_pr @katucker_ @netgalley for my early review copy.
Oh my heart. This book was for us readers. The ones who have forced all our friends/family to read The Simple Wild. Who claim “the yeti” as their #1 book boyfriend. Who weren’t ready to let Calla & Jonah go and wanted more of their story...Wild at Heart picks up right where we left off! Calla & Jonah are trying to build their lives in Alaska and we meet a whole new crew of strong-willed, flawed, and kind side characters. The book also really focuses on Calla’s growth which I enjoyed (girl get those hands dirty!).
Is there a ton of riveting plot? No. This is more the day to day as they navigate new terrain (literally and figuratively) and try to find solid ground in their relationship... but I loved it. Something about these two is so realistic and romantic I could read about them doing laundry together.
You MUST read The Simple Wild first and then you can continue on the adventure with Wild at Heart. Now I need some spin offs... Specifically finding love for sweet baby angel Toby.

This sequel was everything I didn't know I needed. I loved that we got a chance to see Jonah and Calla work on their relationship and figure out what being together looked like for them. Just like everything else I've read by KA Tucker, this book is so captivating and highly emotional. I cried more times than I'd like to admit and I didn't think that would happen without the story line with Calla's dad. Calla is one of my favorite characters ever and I was so happy to see her not just grow in this book, but really find her strength.
Even after seeing the page count (446 pages!) I wish that I could go back and read this all in one sitting because it's so enjoyable to just get lost in Calla and Jonah's world. The only bad thing about this book was that it ended. I'm pretty sure KA Tucker could write another 100 books about these two growing old together and I'd read them all with the same enthusiasm as this one.
Thanks to the author and Social Butterfly PR for my copy to review.

Yall, I was so nervous starting this book! I freaked out when I realized I'd be getting an ARC, but so nervous because The Simple Wild is one of my all-time favorite books, and I was worried that this sequel wouldn't live up to my expectation. Thankfully I was not disappointed and definitely recommend reading Wild at Heart!
Even though I was nervous starting the book, as soon as I got a few chapters in I was so immersed and so excited to be back with Calla and Jonah in Alaska. I loved the Alaskan setting. It's described so beautifully, but doesn't seem to be too idealized, there's so much discussion about how difficult it can be to live in Alaska because of the cold and being kind of secluded.
"I can't remember what it's like to wake up and not have you be the first thing I think about. Every morning I roll over in bed to check for a message from you. Every night, I go to bed annoyed because you're not beside me. Because you're so far away. I need you in my life like I need to fly. Like I need this Alaskan air. More than I need this air."
Jonah and Calla met and fell in love in The Simple Wild, but in Wild at Heart the two are actually getting to know each other and to learn what they want and need in a relationship. This book shares more of their day to day life, they have different expectations going in and have to learn how to compromise on things like work and finances. I really enjoyed this aspect of the book because it shows the hard work that goes into being in a long term relationship.
If you've read any of my reviews, you'll know that my most common complain with romance novels is that I don't think the characters communicate enough, and so many problems are because of miscommunication. In Wild at Heart I felt that there were too many misunderstandings and hurt feelings because Calla and Jonah weren't talking to each other about certain things.
One thing I was surprised by but really, really liked were the parts where Calla describes how her blog and Instagram followers love seeing her posts and reading about her experiencing living in Alaska, but they don't see how she actually feels and how difficult living in Alaska can be for her. This is something important to remember, especially with so many social media influencers, there's always more to the story than just the fun perfect picture.
Overall I was really happy with this book, and think it's a solid sequel to The Simple Wild!

Did you read The Simple Wild last year? If not, you really should.
And have you heard the excitement about the sequel Wild at Heart being the most anticipated book this year? ... at least for me ...
Well, ALL the hypes are TRUE!
I literally fall head over heel in love with Calla, the Yeti, Alaska and the whole clans all over again. The new cast of characters are absolutely awesome as well.
I am so sad when the last page was turned. I really wish there was an epilogue though 😢
What can I say I’m a greedy bitch and I want more.
I hope KA Tucker will take pity on us and one day gives us a novela or heck! just give us book 3.
Wild at Heart is truly a beautiful love story but so much more. All the FEELS
You NEED this!!! It’s EPIC!!!
6 stars

Going into this sequel to The Simple Wild, I was nervous that it wouldn't live up to my expectations of Calla and Jonah's love story. However, in Wild at Heart, K.A. Tucker took the story in a direction that I hadn't anticipated, but I ended up really enjoying where it went. The author pulled off something challenging here - to provide a continuation of a beloved "happily ever after (for now)" story that did not feel trite.
The general synopsis of the book is that Calla moves to Alaska, and rather than settling down with Jonah in Bangor, they decide to try something new and make a life for themselves in the remote town of Trapper's Crossing. I enjoyed seeing how they went from the "honeymoon period" from the The Simple Wild to a more real, and authentic-feeling relationship in Wild at Heart. K.A. Tucker continued to highlight their chemistry and love, but brought in new issues that they were forced to make compromises on. I love these two characters and enjoyed having more time with them, and seeing how they navigated their new life together.
I think this book was a great blend of the elements we know and love from romance books. I feel that ultimately it was a very well-executed sequel that provided a satisfying continuation to Calla and Jonah's story, and even left open the possibility for more. My main critique of the book is that in certain chapters the author repeated information that was well-established in The Simple Wild. I don't anticipate many would read the sequel before the first book, so these "info dumps" did not seem necessary to me.

You know what I love? I love when a sequel is even better that the first one, when a book that you have been looking forward to exceeds your expectations, when a first book is so good you know that the author has her work cut out for her to deliver and she goes above and beyond! Seriously, I loved this book, and when it landed on my kindle last week, I just about dropped everything to read it. I tried to pace myself reading it because I have been looking forward to it for so long, but I ended up devouring it anyways! It was seriously so good. I loved going back to Alaska, and now that Calla and Jonah are together, we got even more of their banter and their relationship. There are even a handful of new characters who are just as entertaining and colorful and memorable as the ones we were introduced to in Simple Wild. Calla and Jonah are two characters that I just love, and I feel like I would read twenty books about them as they continue their relationship and life in Alaska. Is it too soon to start begging for a third installment? All the stars! Loved loved loved this. If you haven't read The Simple Wild, you are missing out!! A huge thank you to @katucker_ and @socialbutterfly_pr for allowing me to be a part of the tour for this amazing book!!

I was so nervous to read this book that it took me a few days to pick it up. But why did I expect anything less than perfection?! I think I was more nervous about it being over and having no more Calla and Jonah to look forward to. Because that's what I'm feeling now.
In the Simple Wild, we were just getting to know Calla and Jonah. Like most contemporary romances, we were watching a couple fall in love for the first time (once they realized they made better lovers than enemies). In Wild at Heart, we find out happens after falling in love. Don’t worry, though. The sexiness, the tension, the banter, it’s all still there. It’s raw. It’s real. It’s perfect.
This book made think a lot about home and what that word means to me. Calla is completely out of her element in Alaska but it means everything to the man she loves. The age old question remains, is home a place or a person?
Aside from Calla and Jonah (which are obviously the best parts), Tucker writes some beautiful, meaningful side characters. They are Alaska and they are strong. How is it that I feel just as connected to them now? I want a third book simply so I can learn more about Roy. Anyone else with me on this?
And, it goes without mentioning, Tucker depicts Alaska as a place with so much heart and depth. Never before have I felt so much pull to place with freezing temperatures and deadly animals.
If you couldn’t already tell, I loved this book. My heart feels full but I already want more. I definitely wouldn’t say no to more of this series.

Ah, Jonah and Calla. These two. I am so happy to read that these two are back on the same coast and back in Alaska together. I knew that this book would have a lot to live up to because The Simple Wild just tugged at my heartstrings so perfectly. I really fell for Jonah, Calla, and Alaska in TSW.
So, Wild At Heart... this was a good continuation of Jonah & Calla but this was definitely the Calla show. I didn't get as many glimpses into Jonah as I would have liked now that they are living together. I did really love how Agnes tells Calla she needs to find what makes her love Alaska, what makes her want to get up in morning, that is not associated with Jonah 100%. This is so important!! Self-worth and happiness can't be reliant on someone else, find your love and passion for you!
I got highly annoyed with Jonah in certain scenes. His character has always been to do as he wishes, fly where and when he wants. He claims to want Calla near him and happy but he is not even talking to HER about issues they face but instead going to a friend whom Calla would not appreciate him talking to about their problems. Why doesn't he talk to her? and also, why isn't she talking to him?? This really culminated into some of the main conflict in the book, how do they live together? How does Calla find what she needs in life? While these things frustrated me, they were realistic conflicts that newly coupled and cohabitors face.
Overall, this did feel like a continuation of TSW. It read much closer to women's fiction than romance. I liked visiting Jonah and Calla again. I liked the cast of characters introduced in their new town. I enjoyed Calla's journey of finding herself.
⭐⭐⭐⭐🔥🔥

By now you should know how good KA Tucker is with words and stories. Once you start, you just can't put it down. Just make sure you have read Into the Wild first because this is a proper sequel.
Although I'm not a big fan of sequels because once a book has a happy ending I know the sequel will be challenging for the characters, no matter what and it scares me, Tucker did a great job developping Jonhal and Calla's new life. The reader gets to know them better as they adjust to their new life. The author gives us new characters and new adventures, which I absolutely loved.
I definatly went through all my emotions!
The only reason I gave this sequel a 4 stars rate is because in my opinion, it was a bit slow to start with.

There was so much I loved about this story: the people, the places and the relationships that formed over the course of the book. It was such a fantastic read and my heart grew sad as I inched closer to the ending. I would have been happy for a cliffhanger at this point, because then I would have had another chance at being back with Calla and Jonah.
Moving thousands of miles away from the only home she ever knew, Calla uprooted her life to be with Jonah and make a go of their relationship. She knew it wouldn’t be easy as everyone warned her about the long, brutal winters in Alaska. But no one warned her about how lonely it would be during the long summer days with Jonah constantly taking to the air. My heart ached for her during these times. But I also understand Jonah’s position as well. Both needed to work through these moments before her parent’s past replayed in their lives and tearing them apart.
Such a sweet story full of much love and many emotions. Tucker did the first book a great justice with this sequel. My heart still longs for more time with them, but I was extremely happy with how it concluded. 5 Stars!

This was just the most perfect sequel. Like, my heart actually swells just thinking about this book. I loved being able to follow along with Calla and Jonah as they take on a new adventure in Trappers Crossing, Alaska. I also freaking loved watching Jonah and Callas relationship grow throughout Wild at Heart. If you have read The Simple Wild, you know their relationship is a very slow burn so this book was such a treat.
In addition, I thought Calla had such growth as a character, At the end of TSW I was stunned with how far Calla had come and she only continues to progress in Wild at Heart. I think that is such a good lesson for the reader, that no matter where you are at in life there is always room for growth.
I freaking adored all the new characters as well as getting to hear more about the old characters! I think that is what makes the Wild series such a success. K.A. Tucker just does a wonderful job with creating every single character that you honestly care about all of them! They are all important and significantly add to the story.
This book will truly warm your heart. It’s just such a feel good story and you can’t help smiling from ear to ear while reading. The Wild series will definitely always hold a place in my heart and I know I will continue to reread them for years to come.
K.A. Tucker What do you think? Can we get a third??

Have you ever watched or read a sequel and it been just as good or better? I’m not sure I have... Until now.✨

“I need you you in my life like I need to fly. Like I need this Alaskan air. More than I need this air.”✨

•Heartfelt emotion
•Unputdownable
•Singular narrative
Then this is the book for you!✨

This book is everything. I already felt so invested in this story. In Calla and Jonah. I couldn’t wait to read this sequel. And right away in that first chapter I was immersed right back into their story. Feeling emotion, right away. And those feelings never went away. My heart was in my throat the entire time. You know that feeling... From smiling, to fear, to angst, to heartwarming- this book has it all and kept me on the edge of my seat. That is the work of a fantastic writer.✨
.
The book picks up perfectly where it left off and sets you on a completely fresh journey for Calla and Jonah. And I loved every minute of it. I loved watching their relationship really take form. Watching Calla grow. And Jonah. My gosh. I need a Jonah. So supportive. So romantic. Their relationship was so raw and realistic. Even the supporting characters pulled at your heart strings. Everything just pulled together perfectly!✨
.
I picked this book up one night and didn’t put it down until I had finished it. That was a rough next morning let me tell you. And I am STILL thinking about this book. I didn’t want it to end! I still don’t! I want more of them. Please, please, tell me there’s more! You know those stories that just stay with you? This is one of them. Do not miss it!✨

This is Book 2 in the Wild Series. You must read Book 1- The Simple Wild before reading this. And believe me, you want to!!✨
.
I was provided with an ARC for my honest review.✨

4.5 STARS
Honestly, I was not expecting anything less than amazing from this sequel, and I can 100% state that I fell in love with Jonah and Call even more than I ever thought possible after finishing The Simple Wild.
This story is timeless in the sense that I read The Simple Wild back in 2018, and I had every intention of rereading The Simple Wild before embarking on Calla and Jonah’s journey in WILD AT HEART. Silly me, but thinking I would need some sort of refresher of my feels from TSW. Once I was five chapters in to WAH, I knew I didn’t need to reread book one because quite honestly, reading the opening of this story, it felt like I had never left the Alaskan Wild. Jonah and Calla were calling me home, and I was glad to be back.
WAH did not feel like a sequel, I’d call it an extension of The Simple Wild because as a reader, I truly feel like I know Calla and Jonah after this book. The Simple Wild leaves off with Calla and Jonah in Toronto, and I had a lot of unanswered questions and selfishly wanted a sequel, well, my prayers were answered.
Wild at Heart dropped the somber mood that lingered over the Simple Wild, and this book explores the lives of Calla and Jonah after making the jump to live together and not become a repeat love story of Calla’s parents.
We get to see Jonah and Calla overcome their struggles, and I truly believe we see Calla grow even more than where she was at the end of The Simple Wild.
I don’t want to give away all the details, but truly, without a doubt, if you loved The Simple Wild, you must read WILD AT HEART because this is KA TUCKER at her best!

A tender and sweet romance about building a life together and the beauty and hardships that come with growing in any relationship. An endearing and adventurous read.
Blurb: This is the continuation of Calla and Jonah’s journey in Alaska and the second book after “The Simple Wild.”
Jonah and Calla decide to build a life together and this book chronicles the journey of findings new friends, dealing with communication issues, and the craziness that comes with living in the great outdoors.
There is so much fun banter, passionate moments, and cantankerous people. What I loved so much about this book is the slow build of friendship, the growth we see in Jonah and Calla’s relationship, and their desire to work hard to build a life together. This is the perfect book to enjoy next to a fire while it snows outside. A comforting and realistic romance I won’t soon forget. I’m so happy I got more of Jonah and Calla!

Wild at Heart is definitely one of the highly anticipated reads of 2020. It felt so good to fall back in love with Calla and Jonah! The relationship they have is one that any one would envy. It's funny, romantic, playful, and most importantly REAL. This is a story that comes to life--making you feel like you are part of their journey in wild Alaska!
Calla is one amazing heroine. The things she put up with for Jonah's happiness was selfless. Not many people would drop everything like she did for her love for Calla and that's what makes this a true romance. It was hard seeing her lose herself over time but she eventually found her self again.
And Jonah, he's another selfless human being. He's always wanting to help others even if it means putting himself in danger.
Quite honestly, Calla and Jonah are no doubt meant for each other! I'm so happy that K.A. Tucker blessed us with this wonderful sequel! She definitely out did herself!

Have you ever loved a sequel more than the first book? I can definitely say I have lol! I loved The Simple Wild but Wild at Heart is for sure my favourite! I really loved seeing Calla and Jonah grow and go through the issues all couples face when they take the next step in life. .
.
Calla has moved to Alaska! Her and Jonah have found a new town, a new home and a new airplane company. Calla obviously has some issues she is trying to work out with her new, sometimes lonely, life in the Alaskan Wild. This book has all the moment you want! Oh the romantic, sexy lines! I was swooning so much lol! I really enjoyed seeing them work through their problems, communicate their issues and come together as one in the end. Calla has many face to face instances with the Wild, including a goat, a wolf dog and a bear! .
.
About two chapters towards the end I was on the edge of my seat and hoping that it was not going to be a cliff-hanger ending! I needed a romantic, sweet ending to this book lol! .

This book is a continuation of Calla & Jonah's story (from The Simple Wild), and it was so wonderful to be back with these characters! Calla makes the decision to move to Alaska with Jonah after he shows up on her doorstep, and this book chronicles their journey. There are some sweet moments, steamy moments, heart breaking moments, and moments where I just deeply felt for Calla & completely understood her anxieties. This book made me tear up on multiple occasions, and made me appreciate K.A. Tucker and her ability to write such amazing characters. It was so fun to see Calla settle into Alaska & find herself in the midst of the wilderness, and to see that even through loneliness, she was able to create a life for herself & Jonah. If you haven't read The Simple Wild yet, go do that first, and then read this immediately!

I really enjoyed this book, following Calla and Jonah as they start their life together in Alaska.
I got to see a different side of them. Also, the supporting characters were great. I really hope there's a third book. I like following their adventures.

“I’m deeply in love with him, and living in Toronto when he’s not here doesn’t make sense to me anymore. I’m done saying goodbye to this man.”
Wild At Heart is the stunning second book in K.A Tuckers Wild series.
Calla Fletcher returned to Toronto a different person, struggling to find direction in her life after the death of her father and the rugged bush pilot she left behind in the wilds of Alaska.
But it isn’t long before Jonah shows up on her doorstep with a proposition she can’t dismiss. Taking a leap of faith Calla rushes back to Alaska to start a life with Jonah.
Soon Calla realises that even the best intentions can lead to broken promises, and that compromise comes with a hefty price- a log cabin in interior rural Alaska that feels just as isolating as the Western Tundra where the reunited with her father and met Jonah.
This is not the future Calla had in mind, leaving her to fear that perhaps she is doomed to follow her mother’s fleeing footsteps after all.
“She wasn’t anywhere near this emotional the last time I left for Alaska. Then again, that was temporary. That was for my father. And for me. This time … I’m moving to Alaska for Jonah. The blunt, abrasive yeti who made my life hell, who I hated only months ago, who I’ve been through so much with since. Now, I’m leaving everything I know behind to be with him.”
I absolutely adored The Simple Wild and was ecstatic when I discovered K.A Tucker was writing a sequel and we would get to read more about Jonah and Calla. Wild At Heart far surpassed any hopes or expectations I had for the rest of Calla and Jonah’s story.
(I was also super excited to have an answer for my one major question I had at the end of The Simple Wild; what happens to Jonah’s sort of pet racoon, Bandit?)
K.A Tucker has created such a rich and vivid story, that the characters seem to lift off the pages and come alive, while the vast expanses of rural Alaska is described so splendidly that it manifests in your mind’s eye with ease.
The chemistry between Jonah and Calla was just as strong in Wild At Heart as it was in The Simple Wild, and I loved being able to see them find their footing with each other as they adjusted to living together, while Calla adjusted to living in such an isolating place as rural Alaska.
“I manage to keep my composure until I’m tucked beneath our bedcovers, alone. And then I muffle my sobs with my pillow, feeling for the first time since last summer that my relationship with Jonah is surviving on borrowed time.”
I loved meeting and getting to know all the new characters, while also getting to see more of the characters we met in The Simple Wild.
Wild At Heart was the perfect sequel and a gripping and rousing novel.

I have been anxiously awaiting this book since it was announced. Although I am not much of a romance reader, I absolutely adored The Simple Wild and couldn't wait for a continuation of Calla and Jonah's story.
I loved that this book took Calla and Jonah back to Alaska. The setting was incredible and I loved that it was such a big part of the story again. I loved watching Calla grow, becoming more self sufficient and learning to adapt, even if it took time. Both Calla and Jonah were flawed characters, learning to be together "in real life" after their whirlwind romance in the first book. There were times that they both frustrated me, but I appreciated that they were real. My only complaint was that Jonah was a little less "swoony" in this book, but this was also realistic, as the honeymoon phase does eventually end. I also loved the secondary characters and the relationships in this book.
