Wonderful! A great new take on Supergirl and her story! I believe there will be certain aspects that will be very relatable to some readers, especially that of not knowing exactly who you are and having questions about it. Loved it!!

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the e-ARC copy!

Unfortunately, I couldn't access this book to read it, due to technological difficulties and not having access to my office computer b/c of the COVID19 shutdown. The cover looks amazing and I love Marika Tamaki's work so I'm sure it's going to be great. Can't wait to get it for my library!

Kara Danvers has always known that she is different, but she could never figure out why. She can fly and lift heavy objects, but she is only 16 years old and is mostly concerned about her family, friends, zits, and her upcoming track meet. When a catastrophic earthquake occurs during the track meet, Kara is pulled into dangerous circumstances that will ultimately help her learn more about herself and cause her to make difficult decisions. Will she be able to save the day, or will those at fault be unstoppable?
I enjoyed this graphic novel very much. I read it in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down. Even though this was a pretty quick read, the plot and the characters were well developed and the illustrations were on point. It was easy to get swept into the story even though I wouldn't be considered part of the target audience. I didn't care for the profanity and I didn't agree with the life choices of some of the characters, but other than that I recommend this book to young adults and anyone who enjoys superhero stories.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. A positive review was not required, and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Thank you NetGalley and DC Comics for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this one. A fresh take on Kara Danvers, where Supergirl gets to shine. It is more than just an origin superhero story. It explores identity and a young teenager finding a place on their own terms, themes a lot younger and older readers can identify with. Hopefully there will be another book in this series. Really want to know what happens next, especially from that cliffhanger.

Love the artwork and the compilation format. Will there be another set, since it's left on such a cliff hanger?
We have a copy of this in our library already I think. Is there something different other than a cover change?

A fresh take on the classic story of Supergirl. This new story gives Kara Danvers a whole new feel and I liked it! New readers will be able to jump in and old fans will enjoy the familiar faces. This way everyone can enjoy the story. It’s not just about a girl with powers, but a much more familiar dialogue about a girl looking for her place in the world as she goes through school. Truly well done.
