I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

I flew through this book, with a well-thought-out plot and really believable characters. would definitely recommend it!

There's a lot going on in this story, but none of the characters are especially appealing. Fount it to be a little implausible, yet predictable.

This was a wild ride! It was a good well-written story, but I just feel the characters were too unlikeable for me to rate this any higher. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is one crazy ride. I am still not 100% sure how I really feel about this one. I know that it was crazy and I felt like the characters were just in a constant downward spiral.

All in all, the characters were completely unlikeable and and I really wasn't sure what to think of them at all. Elizabeth seemed to be trying to deal with her marriage but she was always dealing with issues and I couldn't ever figure out if it was all in her head or for real. Heather was also hard to read, was she just the naïve girl next door or did she have everyone snowed? And Lucas, predator or nice guy. Ugh . Still not sure how I feel but I am going to go 3.5 stars since I didn't stop reading the book.

My Perfect Wife, by Clare Boyd, tells the story of Elizabeth Huxley who lives in a beautiful home, has some major mental problems, and a very rich husband. She adores her children, and is always trying to be the best she can be to do what’s best for them. Almost everything Elizabeth does, however, is to please her husband, Lucas, but she’s not sure that he’s faithful. Her biggest upcoming challenge is to pull off a cocktail party with high-powered guests, one in particular who may mean a lot of money for her husband in his business dealings. The protagonist of the book isn’t Elizabeth, however, but Heather, the daughter of the gardener. Heather’s mum is away taking care of her aunt, so she goes back to her childhood home to help her father do the gardening. Her father is abusive, and not likeable at all, and that causes problems for Heather.

To say the least, the storyline is difficult to follow. Although there is a plot, it is not an easy or clear-cut one, and readers may get a bit confused while reading. It is supposed to be a thriller, but doesn’t really contain the elements of a thriller – it is just a story, actually, with lots of different scenarios that don’t add up. Most readers won’t like the characters, either. They aren’t well-developed and are a bit shallow. The characters don’t interact very well, and some aren’t likeable enough to care about them. The book is set in the UK, so there is a bit of a charming ambiance, but that alone won’t redeem a poor novel, and here, it doesn’t.

While there are some good parts, and it may be enjoyable to some, most thriller aficionados may just want to skip this one.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

From everyone's point of view, Elizabeth has the perfect life - Lucas, her devoted husband, two children she adores, and a beautiful house with all the amenities. Everyone's point of view but hers. She feels like all is not what it seems. When their gardeners' daughter, Heather joins the team and we realize she had a previous liaison with Lucas, red flags are everywhere. Elizabeth, as stated throughout the novel, has struggled with previous mental health issues and still struggles in the present. The couple throws a party to impress a colleague that works in the business with Lucas and Elizabeth feels that this is her last chance to prove her "worth" to her husband and make sure her family stays as perfect as it seems.
The story is told from two POVs - Elizabeth's and Heather's. It made for a very interesting story with a lot of twists! Drama, lots of secrets, confusion - it really has it all. Good read!
Thanks to Clare Boyd, Bookouture and NetGalley for the ARC.

An addictive thriller that will have you hooked until you turn the last page! I love a story told from an unreliable character so this book fit perfectly. There are many twists and turns in this novel to keep you entertained and hooked, as you flip through the pages.

Is there such a thing as a perfect husband or a perfect wife? I mean, we all make mistakes at some point, right? An unputdownable novel that you will devour.
