Heather has returned to Copper Lodge. The gardener’s daughter is there to help the home’s owners, Elizabeth and Lucas Huxley throw a huge party. This author really has the knack of creating stories where you don't know who to believe, who to feel sorry for, who to blame, who is sane and who is crazy and she proves it once again.

She is like an illusionist, using smoke and mirrors to make us believe one thing while we should believe the oppostie, to make us think one thing while we should realise something else. But we don't see it and that's how good she is.

And then comes karma ... Even the best liars don't stand a chance with her in the neighbourhood. :)

One moment I thought I saw through it, concluding a bit later that I was wrong. After a while I was convinced that this time I really was looking the facts in the face ... Alas ;)

I enjoyed this book. 4 stars.
