JT, as he was known, was a successful rancher in California. He left Texas with his three baby girls after his wife died, with no money, but a lot of dreams to one day be a successful rancher. It took years, and a lot of hard work but his dreams became a reality.
JT was a loving man, but he was stubborn and controlling. His relationship with each of his daughters was extremely different. Kate was the eldest and worked side by side to help run the ranch. She never challenged his authority and did whatever he asked. Gemma was the middle and his favorite. She left the ranch as soon as she could and hated looking back. She went on to be a famous actress and her father loved that about her. Caroline was the baby, the book worm of the family. JT could never understand her so he left her alone. She also left the ranch as soon as she could and never looked back. She went on to marry and have two kids.
But all of their lives change drastically one fateful day when JT suffers a heart attack and dies suddenly. Before they know it, the three sisters are reconnected back at the ranch. Each sibling is dealing with their own personal issues, and tries to find solace at the ranch, when they never have been able to before.
The lives of all the characters, main and supporting, are so beautifully woven together in a plot that will touch your heart, as only Danielle Steel can.
The family will discover lies and truths, love and forgiveness, and learn about themselves in ways they never dreamed.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Danielle Steel and I go way back. I've been reading her books religiously for more than 25 years, so I knew I would love her latest offering, and I was not disappointed. Her books are comfort food for my soul, and this one gave me everything I've come to expect from her, and maybe even more.

Of course I always love some more than others and some of them seem repetitive. But when you write as many books as Danielle Steel that is bound to happen!

Growing closer together they learn that their lives are better with each other. They grow tho find their ways in the world an become more than Daddy"s girls. Great read!

I love stories about families and this one is one of the best. 3 very different sisters, who bridge the gap of their separate lives through uncovering family secrets and understanding. Danielle Steel novels usually grab me from the start and I have spent many a night not being able to put the book down even though I should sleep! We are under a "stay home" order now, because of the Corona virus and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to spend time reading this story. It brightened my day and also allowed some tears to escape that needed to!. I thank Net Galley , the publisher, and the amazing author, Danielle Steel, for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I am a sucker for Danielle Steel novels. Although predictable, Daddy's Girls was a sweet story about the bonds of sisters after the loss of a loved one. Deducting one star as it took me longer than usual to get into the story. Thank you to NetGalley and Random House for this ARC.

Im not going to lie - I had to check more than once that this was a new book and not a Steel book I've read before... That being said, it was a fine book and people will read it. The sister story and the mean daddy trope have been told. There wasn't a lot of originality in the tale, but it was satisfying read.

I received an ARC copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. This is a story of 3 sisters who grew up on a ranch with a very domineering father. When tragedy strikes, they all come home and a huge secret is found out. This was a typical love story with a few surprises along the way but it did keep me interested.

Danielle Steel's Daddy's Girls is about single dad JT who raises 3 daughters. When JT dies unexpectedly his adult daughters are shocked. They are almost as shocked, if not more so, when secrets from their father's past are revealed. The sisters miss their father but not his domineering ways. Each sister must also deal with the changes in their own lives: loss of jobs, new romances, pregnancy, weddings and an affair. An easy read and entertaining. (ARC received from Netgalley)

The story was predictable. I knew within the first chapter what would happen between Caroline and Peter, Gemna and her director, and the Kate and the foreman ain't the ranch.

I was upset that none of the girls were strong enough to stand up for themselves with their father. Kate felt she had to be the son JT never had, Gemma was the one that always questioned his actions...but was also the favorite daughter. Caroline was the mouse of the family. Each one hated the way their dad treated them..but felt like they could never voice their opinions to him.

Then one day JT drops dead and the girls discover a dark hidden secret JT krpt from them...their mother was still alive. As time ticks on the girls learn they are capable, and become stronger wiser women.

Another heartwarming tale by the queen of romance. This book takes a twist on King Lear (IMO) with three daughters being left behind.to.sort out their father's legacy and secrets after his death.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
