I really enjoyed the operational detail as well as the hot scene between Jack and Jessa when he claimed the person he had never stopped loving. It was good to see Jack the experienced operative show he still had a soft side when it came to Jessa.
There was a lot more substance to the steamy romance I was expecting.
Exit Plan is the first book in the Kill Code trilogy and the authors skill at drawing me into the story and keeping me there makes sequels an attractive proposition.
Some readers may find a few of the scenes upsetting due to their violent nature.

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written from beginning to end. I didn't want to put it down but I was tired so I finished it the next day. A real page turner for sure.

It seemed to have a spy type element to it which I loved. The hacking of computers always leaves me amazed how people can find out all your secret information. The crime element of this book was great too!

3.5 Hearts This is the first book in a trilogy of a dark romantic suspense. I want to say right up front that there are some VERY dark themes in this book. Meaning some scenes could be difficult to read.

The story was good. There was a bit of background that had to do with Jack and Jessa. Which is part of the story to get to know our leads and the reason for the undercover op. Then it fast forwards 10 years and Jack and Jessa find themselves face to face again.

I thought the story was well written but the dark parts were a bit hard to read. I will pick up the next in the trilogy to see how the story progresses.

Kill Code was a pretty good read. I liked it. It moved swiftly. I like a book that when reading it holds my interest to the point that I can't put it down and therefore finish very fast.

This is the story of Jack & Jessa. Jack is an undercover agent working to take down Mateo, a druglord and gun trafficker. He is sent undercover as a student to Jessa's high school to keep an eye on Mateo's son Maxwell. He falls in love with Jessa. What she doesn't know is he's 5 years her Sr. and also working for law enforcement. Just when Jack's team is about to take down Mateo they get an order to pack everything and pull out. He's supposed to be meeting Jessa at the library to study but makes up an excuse about why he can't. Later that evening, Jack is told that Jessa, her parents and brother are involved in an accident and her body has not been found. (Their car went into a river.) Jack becomes so upset he has to be sedated. He wakes up the next morning and is told that she has not been found and is presumed dead. Jack spends several years trying to find her to no avail. He finally gives up hope, believing she is dead.

Fast forward ten years from the accident; Jack is again working with a team to take down Mateo's crime organization, now led by his son Maxwell who went to high school with Jessa. They are led to a secret farmhouse to take Jay and Dana in hopes of finding Zane, an expert hacker the ladies work with under Maxwell's organization. When they come to the door Jack is floored when he sees the woman he had never stopped loving. It can't be true! Jessa, alive and well, after all these years thinking she was dead! Imagine his surprise and confusion!

From there we get to see their reunion and what follows is often tense but hopeful; both in the shared hope of being together again and also in their shared hatred of Maxwell and the desire to see him taken down. You will not expect the trials and tribulations these two will go thru in their quest, along with a few friends. You definitely will not foresee how this ends.

I enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend! It is a well written, easy to read romantic suspense novel. I was given an advanced review copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is a fantastic start to a new action series that has plenty of romantic suspense and successfully sets up the plot for the sequel.

This is a suspense romance book, the first in a trilogy.

It was well written, but some of the story line to me seemed a bit flawed. I don't want to give away too much of the book, but I feel some of the romance scenes contradict what the main character, Jessa, went through.

I do not know if I will read the remaining books in the trilogy.

A very nice book by Luna Kayne. I’ve never read a book by this author before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the story and the characters.

I had to take a minute to recover from the emotional ride this book took me on. There were so many twists and turns and unexpected moments and once it got going I couldn't put it down. I really hope this is the start of a series because I need to read more.

This is another great book in a long line of female protagonists whose lives are in peril. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The suspense was great and the mood was frighteningly good!!!! I love this author and I will definitely purchase other books by this author.

Jack and Jessa are on opposite sides of law and that doesn’t stop them from loving each other. Exit plan is an amalgamation of long lost love, romance, suspense and crime thriller and is an exciting one at that. It took a bit long for me to get into the story line, but once in, it is captivating at best. Stands true to its description..

A disappointing book with a nonsense plot and a messy story. Changing first person POV and descriptions jumping around, as well as stilted language and unnatural dialogue. There is a story, but it's no joy reading it.

Exit Plan is the first book in the Kill Code series by Sheri Landry. I thought this was a good start to the series. Sheri Landry is a new to me author and I enjoyed the story and it held my attention throughout the book. The point of view jumps around a lot which I don’t typically like but other than that I thought it was a good book. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

This is the first book in the Kill Code series by Sheri Landry

Basic premise: Jack thought Jessa died ten years ago. Now he is trying to find a group of hackers who were responsible for her death. It is then he finds that Jessa never died. In fact, she thought he was dead and had moved on with a family of his own (which was untrue). This group is lead by a horrific mad man who has his ties everywhere and seems unstoppable. Jessa has the key to his demise in her memory but she is blocking it all due to her earlier torture.

I thought this book was really great. It made you think and had you questioning everything at every turn. But I did think it was a bit to graphic in the horrific sense when they showed us the torture Jessa went through from Maxwell and then showed us it again when Logan was trying to “break” her. i thought that was unnecessary.

The point of view does jump around a bit and can be confusing at times but if you pay attention to the “voice” of the person, it should be easier to distinguish one from the other.

This is a relevant story and to my mind, a good one as well. Looking forward to seeing what other books in this series will look like. Definitely need some more Logan in my life.

If you enjoy a good mystery/thriller/romantic suspense, give this one a try, you won’t be disappointed!

This book is very cleverly written. The main characters are reunited after 10;years. Jack was under cover when he met Jessa in high school and he thinks she died in a tragic accident. When they meet again they are both working on different sides of the law. The storyline is gripping and builds to a explosive unpredictable ending. I will definitely be looking out for the next installment.

I truly enjoyed reading this book. The beginning was a little slow for me, but after a short while I was truly engaged into the book and read it in just a few short days. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a good, thrilling read. I am truly looking forward to more books by Sheri Landry and can’t wait to read more! I give this a 4 star simply because it took a short time before I was truly captivated. But other than that I would highly recommend! I know, I know, I am in the minority here. EXIT PLAN: KILL CODE by Sheri Landry is certainly gritty, but not quite so heroic as the synopsis leads one to believe. For me, it was over-the-top in shock value. Far too much depravity and just a little to the side of being believable.

How many covert ops guys would be allowed to help rescue his former flame? How many would have rough sex with her, while she is in custody with his team on the other side of the door? Not realistic.

Graphic torture scenes that go beyond necessary, are gut-churning. It seems this author has jumped on the "how far can we push the limits to sell books" train and I am disappointed.

Did I finish the book? Yes, because if I hadn't, how could I review it?

I enjoyed the overall storyline of this book, I felt connected to the characters and enjoyed the fast moving pace of it. I did get confused slightly with how the chapters were set out, instead of the storyline moving forwards - it gave us Jessa’s perspective and then Jacks. Sometimes I found that slightly hard to follow.

But saying that, I did finish this in one day and really liked the actual storyline.

Jack is a special forces operative posing as a college student, whose job is to help nail Matteo Sparr, the leader of one of the largest crime organizations on the West Coast.
When the operation goes wrong, 18-year-old Jessa, the girl Jack fell in love with, is involved in a car crash. Her body is never recovered, and a few years afterwards, she is declared dead.
10 years later, Jack's special forces team follows a lead in search of a hacker by the name of Zane, who works for Maxwell, Matteo's son.
When Jack and his team raid the remote farmhouse where the suspects are supposed to be hiding, never in his wildest dream does he imagine that the suspect they're about to seize will turn out to be Jessa, apparently alive and well.

The story interlaces Jack's and Jessa's first-person perspectives and hooks you pretty quickly.
It certainly was a thrilling read, but I'm really conflicted about it.
There was one big drawback. After the first couple of chapters, I lost my belief in the professionalism of the agents. I might not have much knowledge about how groups like that operate, but they all, including Jessa, seemed to me like a bunch of teenagers playing undercover agents and suspects. And once that sensation took hold, I couldn't shake it off. The gruesome torture and rape scene made it more real, but still, the way they all behaved and talked seemed, at the very least, unprofessional and implausible. And what was it with the men claiming that Jessa belonged to them? I can understand it in Maxwell's case; he was, after all, a disturbed psychopath, but what about Jack, who was supposed to be the good guy?? Instead, the first moment he's left alone with Jessa, after all those years, he says "you belong to me!" and has sex with her to prove his point?? What the hell??
And Jessa's response, to be honest, wasn't any better, only once did she challenge being objectified. Despite being portraited as a strong character, she too behaved like a teenager at times.
I was really battling with myself about the rating. I feel like the issues I had should lower the rating down to 2 stars, but because overall, it was an entertaining read that I quite enjoyed, I settle for 3 stars and I hope the sequel will prove to be better.
