Another winner for Lynn Cahoon who KNOWS what readers want from cozy mystery books! This is one of my favorite cozy series and I hope the author writes many more. I highly recommend each one!

Lynn Cahoon is one of my favorite cozy mystery writers and the fourth Farm to Fork book doesn't disappoint. She uses different locals and characters in each of her series. The author always captures the small hometown atmosphere of the environment which makes you feel like you want to visit. Her use of food as an additional eliminate inspires me in the kitchen too. She does an excellent job of revealing enough information to keep me hooked but not too much to spoil the ending. Perfect for lovers of Hallmark Movies and Mysteries.

Angie is a restaurant owner that enters a contest with other restaurants in the area during the fair. The first winner is announced and dies from poison. Angie and her cooking staff are targets as well. Ian her boyfriend is considerate and assists Angie with daily chores so she can concentrate on solving the murder. The killer is the chef’s wife and brother-in-law. Both out or revenge. Jane, his wife, for his adultery and Jamie, the brother-in-law because his restaurant burned and he lost everything. There are hints throughout the story who committed the murder and finding the killer puts Angie in deep trouble. There is also a run away, Bleak, that adds a mini mystery to the book.

I've enjoyed this series from the start and it's only gotten better with each new addition. A fair edition of Restaurant Wars certainly made for an entertaining story line and grabbed me from the beginning and didn't let go.

Farm to Fork Mystery # 4. Angie Turner has entered her restaurant The County Seat into the competition at the state fair for best restaurant. The competition is with 12 restaurants and 3 get eliminated each round. Unfortunately one is permanently eliminated by poison and there is a killer to be found. Angie and her team work so well together and they are such a family that you get pulled into the story and all that is going on without even knowing it. There is also a runaway named Bleak who becomes a new character that has promise for future books. This story shows the growth of Angie and her team and it is a fast read that you will not want to put down. It was a good mystery which keeps your attention. Enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the next in the series.

AWESOME! Loved it! The best yet!
When the first Farm-to-Fork Mystery came out, I hoped I would love it at least half as much as I love Lynn Cahoon's other series. I was amazed to discover that I loved it even more, and the more I have gotten to know the kitchen crew of The County Seat, the harder I have fall. Throughout the series, Ms. Cahoon builds Angie’s world by creating a realistic daily life that makes the intrigue easier to buy into. Time spent with Dom and the rest of the zoo is precious and draws me into the books as much as the humans and the mystery.
One of the things I enjoyed most about Deep Fried Revenge was getting to watch the guys work and play outside of the restaurant. The family feel made the free time feel so fun and once work kicked in, I appreciated seeing them work like a well-oiled machine. I loved spending more time with Ian than usual. We always get a good view of their growing romance, but this time he actually helped with the investigation. Angie, girl, that man is marriage material! Watching Estebe and Felicia together is awesome, and a bit worrisome; I have my fingers crossed for you two! And yes, there was a complex murder dropped in their laps.
I requested and was thrilled to receive an ARC of Deep Fried Revenge via NetGalley. If you follow me anywhere, you already know how much I love Lynn Cahoon's work. I also pre-ordered a personal copy of the book because this is a reread forever series.

Angie Turner is back in another clever addition to the farm to fork series, written by Lynn Cahoon.
While preparing for the state fair and Restaurant Wars, Angie finds herself getting attached to a young newcomer, who is currently under the sheriff's guardianship.
Angie helps the sheriff by giving the young girl a job, while protecting her from her family's cult lifestyle. Bleak has no desire to return home to an arranged marriage, and Angie is more than happy to help.
As if worrying about Bleak isn't enough, it seems someone is targeting the chefs at restaurant wars, and Angie is worried about everyone's safety.

This is a fun filled, action packed story that will leave you guessing until the very end.

Overall an entertaining look at how food preparation for a contest can turn out. Throw in a slow to build plot, a murder or few, and you've got an enjoyable weekend read.

Kindle Copy for Review from Net Galley

I received a free, advance copy of this book and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.

The Idaho State Fair is in full swing as Angie Turner and her restaurant are busy entering events. But things get less competitive as her competition keeps dying off. Instead of being busy cooking, she finds herself once again looking for killers.

There is nothing like a murder or two in a cooking event. Once again action heats up for Angie and her friends. A yummy cozy story.

My Review

Another winner! Lynn Cahoon has done it again. Great cozy mystery.

The 4th book in the Farm-to-Fork Mystery Series - Deep Fried Revenge starts off with Angie Turner tucking her teddy bear away as she walks around the carnival.

Deciding to enter “Restaurant Wars” all is going fairly well until Angie sees a dark figure running out of the area of the booths. When a murder is committed it is up to Angie to figure out what happened.

Well-crafted characters and interesting plot combined with politics and a hot detective make this the perfect ingredients for a great cozy mystery.

This ARC was provided to me in exchange for my honest opinion and I definitely give this a 5 Star review!

Deep Fried Revenge is the 4th full-length book in the Farm-to-Fork Mystery series written by Lynn Cahoon. I've read the previous three books, plus a shorter novella in the series, and was thrilled to get an early copy of this one. I love this series, maybe even a little more now than I do another of hers that I regularly read too -- Cat Latimer Mysteries. Let's talk about this new release coming out on April 7, 2020.

Revenge is bad enough, but then Cahoon has to smother it in deep fried oils, huh? Well, the book takes place at a traveling carnival / fair, and those are the greasy but divine kinds of foods you must enjoy -- so delicious, just as this plot was. Our wonderful heroine, Angie, had entered a contest of 12 restaurants to win a grand prize. Three are eliminated each day until the winner is chosen... sort of a Top Chef / Restaurant Wars contest. Except, someone ends up dead... luckily not in the deep fryer. That'd be scary, but this time it's poison, and possibly from a rare flower. One by one, the competition is kicked out, and Angie's left standing at the last possible moment. Will she be killed by this crazy chef killer?

Okay, so I amp'd it up a little, but I couldn't put the book down for 3 hours, I kept reading and reading, and it flowed so well. I really enjoyed the story, visiting old faves, and meeting a few new ones. The relationships in this series are strong, and I love seeing them develop. Angie is a kind boss, someone we'd all love to work for. And the food makes me so hungry each time. I must put Idaho on my traveling map, to see what all this fuss is about. But I will not get caught up in this little food war. When we find out why chefs were dying, it's delectable.

Overall, I give this one a 4.5. I'm rounding down on some sites and up on others to even it out, but its a high recommend from me. This one shines in the series and cements that it's hit its groove quite well... okay, can I ask for the next one by fall? I'm so greedy, but they're so fun!

Angie Turner and The County Seat gang are participating in the State Fair’s Cooking War and the winning chefs are dropping like flies. Why would anyone want to kill the chefs and why would Angie want to win if puts a target on her head? Angie and the gang need to up their game, watch their backs and try to survive the Fair.

I adore Lynn Cahoon and all of her series, but this one is my favorite. She mixes cooking with sleuthing to serve up a delicious mystery each and every time.

Another great Farm to Fork mystery!

This time poor Angie is embroiled in a poisoning when she participates in a restaurant competition at the county Fair.

The characters are fun and believable and the mystery keeps you guessing!

I really enjoyed the interaction between the characters and how they pulled everything together for Bleak. I liked the story line, it was interesting to watch the restaurant contest and how the fair environment colored everything. The mysteries are interesting and I had no clue who was behind it all. The ending is great. #DeepFriedRevenge #NetGalley

A thoroughly enjoyable cozy mystery with interesting, intelligent characters, a lovely Idaho setting, a compelling plot and lots of delicious food. Angie Turner, the chef and co-owner of the restaurant County Seat, is participating in the county fair's edition of Restaurant Wars. When the winners of the first two challenges are poisoned, Angie along with her co-owner Felicia and their boyfriends Ian and Esteban investigate before the poisoner gets to them, this time with the blessing of the sheriff. Between running her restaurant, participating in the cooking competition, caring for her animals and mentoring a young homeless runaway, Angie has her hands full. But she manages to figure out who the culprit while fulfilling all the rest of her tasks as well. I highly recommend this book.
