I really dont know what to say about this book. It is a very strange and highly imaginative book which is essentially a history of our world written in another time. Born in 2064, Alaric Thaine, a time travelling history professor is among the first intersteller travellers.. He wrote about the 21st century in a way that could be understood by people of the 29th century who live in a progressive utopia.
Perhaps the best description could be a history textbook which is also speculative metafiction. A strange mix of fact and fiction.
Despite all this, I did quite enjoy the book. Though I did get a bit lost at times.
Thank you to netgalley, the publisher and the author for sending me this ARC.
This is OK. It's imaginative at times and there are some interesting characters. The approach of "looking back" and forward seems a bit risky somehow. Lots of books do this but not usually as "history". So this didn't always work for me. But overall I liked this.
I really appreciate the ARC for review!!
