A cozy story with simplistic plot. The characters are sweet but not memorable. They work together in a town that does weddings together-central location the hote/mansion. A quick read-try it.

A Cottage Wedding is book 2 in the series but it reads fine as a stand alone. I love small town romance stories, throwing a wedding and you had me getting my finest clothes in to read. I enjoyed this book and love the series.

Tara Stewart wants a promotion at her magazine, Weddings Today. Her boss offers the chance of a lifetime – the promotion she’s wanted, but only if she writes a negative article about Heart’s Landing, the nation’s most popular and successful destination wedding locale. So, it’s off to Heart’s Landing to perform an evaluation of the town, with an eye to finding flaws. Except she can’t find any – everything is perfect. Particularly Jason Heart, the owner of the premier wedding locale, the Captain’s Cottage.

This is the second book in the Heart’s Landing series, but it can be read as a standalone. Several characters from the first book pop in and update us on their lives, but they are not central to the story. The new characters are all wonderful, eager to please and focused on showing Tara the real Heart’s Landing.

Tara’s struggle to reconcile her growing feelings for Jason and the welcoming people of Heart’s Landing with her desire to advance her career make for a compelling story. How often have we been put in the position to make a choice that can affect our lives so drastically? It’s a sweet story with a serious message and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher and NetGalley. The opinion is my own.

Always make the little decisions with your head and the big ones with your heart...

Leigh Duncan has once again delightfully embraced her readers to another enjoyable story that takes place in Heart's Landing. Jason and Tara slowly grow to care deeply for one another. I am a pushover for a sweet romance. This story had it all. Jason and Tara struggle to come to terms with decisions that could destroy what they could have together. Also learning the history of Jason Heart's family history was an added bonus.

I hope that Leigh Duncan will continue to give us these stories from the charming town of Heart's Landing.

‘A Cottage Wedding‘ is the second title in the ‘Heart’s Landing‘ series, and I was easily swept back into this charming small coastal town completely devoted to a happy ever after wedding for all of its guests and visitors… and perhaps residents as well.

Tara is the type of heroine I enjoy most. She’s faced with a problem from the start yet she’ll do what’s necessary to fulfill her obligations… up to a point. She’s smart, not afraid to speak the truth when it’s needed, and willing to admit when she’s wrong. When she discovers there is absolutely no truth to the idea of her boss that Heart’s Landing is a horrible destination wedding location and should lose its first-place spot in that category she will stand behind her decision – even when it will cost her the promotion she so deserves. Unfortunately, she didn’t come clean about her real reasons for being in town with the one person who deserved to know quickly enough… and there will be consequences for that action.

I adored Jason from the start. He’s a good man, one who isn’t afraid to show his feelings, one who wants what is best for not only his business but for the community as well. It is vital for the town to hold on to their precious best destination wedding location top spot in order for the town and the businesses there to flourish. Everything about Heart’s Landing is related to the wedding business and if they lose that number one spot it will devastate family businesses and good people’s livelihoods. He certainly didn’t expect to fall so hard or so fast for Tara, but he did, and when her true reason for coming to his town is learned it turns his world upside down.

Trust is a precious thing, perhaps more valuable than any other emotion. Tara broke that trust, and now she has to convince the townsfolk and Jason that she’s not out to destroy them in spite of her boss’s command. I loved watching this story unfold for we all know that no secret is going to stay that way long in any story.

Jason and Tara fit so well together that their journey to everlasting love, in spite of potholes along the way, kept me flipping pages, completely engaged, and loving every moment back in Heart’s Landing. If you love a really good love story then this romance and this series are perfect matches for you.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from Hallmark Publishing via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Heartwarmingly sweet! With the second book in her enchanting Heart's Landing series Leigh Duncan delights her readers with a return visit to the cozy wedding town in A COTTAGE WEDDING.

Tara Stewart is an easy to connect with character. She's part of the junior staff at Weddings Today magazine and is thrilled when her boss sends her on an assignment that could jump start the next phase of her career ... only problem is, she's supposed to be finding fault with Heart's Landing but finds it nothing but delightful every where she turns.

Jason Heart is quick to jump into our heart as a town favorite. He's self-assured and always out to help the town succeed. As a direct descendant of the town founder, he's got a plethora of historical items that tell the story of the town ... and Tara is only too happy to dig into it all in search of a story.

I recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys a tight knit small town filled with quirky characters and endearing connections.

This was a lovely, sweet romance. The main characters, Jason & Tara, are perfect for each other and I really liked them both. All of the characters were entertaining. I love the premise of the wedding town and everybody working together to make brides dreams come true. The Captain 's Cottage is a character in itself. Would love to be able to explore like Tara did. The romance was sweet, not very steamy, just dreamy! A wonderful series and a wonderful story.
I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher and voluntarily chose to review it.

I usually like plots where there's a wedding involved cause they are pretty fun to read. And this was no different. The setting and the history of the of the setting was beautifully written.

Blurb - Every year there's a competition for the best wedding destination where the Heart's Landing has been holding the top spot since 10 years and this year is no different. The people are pulling all the strings to stand first. But the real motivation behind sending Tara Stewart to judge the place by the magazine, Weddings Today, could very well damage the reputation of the town. Jason Heart, descendant of the founder of the town, is tasked with giving Tara a tour of the town. Will Tara really debunk the myth on which Heart's Landing was established and maybe lose the one chance at love she has?

I really loved the way even tiny details were described, giving the whole book an amazing appeal of history. Those who like the trope of love at first sight will find this story an awesome treat! I might as well add that it has a definite amount of cheesiness. Be ready to drip in it ;)

I love Hallmark movies. I love the sense of community, the realistic and likable main characters, the often quirky secondary characters, and, although there is typically some mild conflict, the guarantee of sweet romance with a happy ending. All of that is exactly what Leigh Duncan delivers in the charming second book of her Heart's Landing series, A Cottage Wedding.

Duncan brings the small wedding-destination town of Heart's Landing to vivid life through her writing, in such detail that by the time I finished reading this book I could easily be convinced the town actually exists. I was charmed by the Captain's Cottage, the horse-drawn carriage, the town shops, and by the legend of a love for the ages that we all want for ourselves. Not to mention food. There is so much delicious food in this book. It should come with a drool warning. ;-) Also, if you love cake (I love cake), you might want to keep a napkin handy while reading Chapter Six. Just saying. 😉

Jason is such a good guy. I loved his dedication to his family and to their history. I liked Tara too and understood her desperation to keep her job though it was hard to see her continue her deception after she and Jason got together, though, of course, I ultimately forgave her for her shortcomings. And Jason for his as well. They're good people, a great match, and I was cheering for them to find their way to one another. One of the things I appreciate about both books in this series is that Duncan gives her characters time to work through their relationship issues. It's a little more realistic than a meet, fall in love, and marry within two weeks kind of story.

Reading A Cottage Wedding was like watching a movie in my mind, in a setting I'm eager to revisit. Duncan spins a charming, heartwarming tale that's as clearly portrayed on the pages of this book as it would be on screen. I don't know how many books she has planned for the series but I am more than ready for however many she has in the queue.

A sweet story - just what I want to see from Hallmark Publishing!

Jason Heart of Heart's Landing, Rhode Island, is hopeful for renewal for his hometown's renewal of the title for "America's Top Wedding Destination" by magazine "Weddings Today". He is the direct descendant of the couple for whom the legend makes the town attractive to couples looking to get married and owner of "Captain's Cottage". He and his fellow townsfolk are hoping for renewal of their title as losing the title they had for many years could mean a huge loss in business.

Tara Stewart is a lowly junior staffer at "Wedding's Today". She is tasked by her boss Regina Charm to take down Heart's Landing as the premier wedding destination and find flaws with the town and the legend it's built on. Tara is promised a huge promotion if she can achieve her boss's goal or loss of job if she cannot. After visiting Heart's Landing and meeting Jason, Tara realizes that finding flaws will be harder than she ever thought.

I love Hallmark stories for the romance, misunderstandings and yes, even the predictability that comes with them. So thankful to Hallmark Publishing, Netgalley and author Leigh Duncan for the opportunity to read this wonderful story, a perfect escape in these trying times we are living in. If you are looking for a light-hearted romanic read, I highly recommend this book! A win for Hallmark Publishing!

A cottage Wedding by Leigh Duncan. A love story about the many happenings and myths at Hearts Landing. The one about the slate stones stood most in my mind.

The second book in the Heart's Landing series by Leigh Duncan is titled A Cottage Wedding. A heartwarming and magical romance with intriguing characters set within a delightful sense of community. Duncan's writing is rich in vivid details making it easy to picture the gorgeous seaside town of Heart's Landing. While this is part of the series can easily be read as a standalone novel. I look forward to reading the next book in the Heart's Landing series.

This was a beautiful, charming, romantic story taking place in the picturesque town of Heart's Landing, Rhode Island. The Captain's Cottage is a mansion overlooking the Atlantic ocean complete with a widow's walk. It is know for all of the weddings it holds along with the town's help. The beautiful mansion has been passed down through the Heart family and it is now run by Jason Heart. All or the characters were so much fun from Jason and his cousin Evelyn, to the mean Regina Charm, and to Tara who works for Regina.
I liked how captivated Jason and Tara were with each other from the first time they met, as if it was love at first sight for both of them, even though Tara is there to knock Jason's livelihood out of first place in her company's magazine, Weddings Today. If she does not find something wrong for her article her boss, Ms. Regina Charm has let Tara know she will no longer be working for the magazine.
It was fun trying to figure out how the story would end and I was not disappointed at all and I was even surprised which is nice. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

This is the second book in the A Heart’s Landing series. A Simple Wedding (https://www.amazon.com/Simple-Wedding-Leigh-Duncan-ebook/dp/B07L3T29G3/ref=pd_sim_351_1/139-0460838-4581835?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07L3T29G3&pd_rd_r=a7c83555-f1e5-4646-9fbb-4d01cdc5b4cc&pd_rd_w=1BCa8&pd_rd_wg=NROQn&pf_rd_p=6f740e39-0c25-4380-8008-7a4156dab959&pf_rd_r=X43CD911CQMH2K0NSZVW&psc=1&refRID=X43CD911CQMH2K0NSZVW) came out right before the Quarantine happened and I was fortunate enough to have received that ARC and fully enjoyed it! Hallmark has some books that were movies made into books. This one, unfortunately is not that, nor have I seen any buzz about this series being made on TV. I feel it would definitely make great TV with its great character development, quirky characters and silly comedy with good hearted intention. There is a slight story arc, but if you did not read the first book, you aren’t completely lost. There are a few returning characters mentioned, but nothing too monumental where you will be completely lost and confused. If you did not read the previous book, there are spoilers to that book!!!

We begin this book with Jason Heart entering the I Do Cakes bakery to attend a meeting regarding preparation for the Executive Editor for Weddings Today. Jason's great-great-great-grandfather, Captain Thaddeus Heart is the town's founder and built the "Cottage" that is the venue where the weddings happen in Heart's Landing. The "Cottage" consists of a one hundred twenty-five-year-old venue with fourteen bedroom and two enormous ballrooms.
Regina Charm's wedding that was called off is a hot topic at this meeting. This happened in the previous book, but it was a long drawn out and torturous process! She is expected back to town to write about Heart's landing. They are going to give her a proper tour including the Mayor, as well as invitations to several weddings issued by brides, eager to be mentioned in the edition of Weddings Today. They have her on quite the schedule and not much room to divert from the schedule.
We are then taken to Tara's desk at Weddings Today Headquarters. Kate has been sent a photo of super-model, Kate Stevens in her wedding gown, a Sophie Olsen original. This would fine, except Kate has been the dace of the Donna Marsh brand for five years. Tara brings this beginning of a potential story to Regina Charm, but is shot down, as the readers are more interested in what fabrics are in and what waste-lines are appropriate for this year's wedding gowns. Regina enlists Tara to write the story on Heart's Landing, the quaint little town that every little girl dreams of having her wedding. Regina believes that the townspeople have grown complacent and have let things slide. Regina was still bitter about her non wedding.
While Tara is in Heart’s landing, she uncovers more than she bargained for. We are taken on a detail-oriented tour of Heart’s Landing and find out more than we thought we would. I hope this is not the last in the series!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this boo. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A Cottage Wedding, by Leigh Duncan, is available at booksellers 6-2-2020. Cottage is a Heart's Landing Novel from Hallmark Publishing. I'm crazy about all things Hallmark. This series revolves around the perfect town of Heart's Landing, the top wedding destination spot. I'm in love with the town and all it's residents. Our current couple, Tara & Jason, are no exception. Cute, sweet, instant attraction, trying not to fall in love (which never works). Their story is adorable and I think you'll love it. If Ms Duncan would send me directions to Heart's Landing, or even GPS coordinates, then I'm gone there to stay. Cottage gets a rare, for me, 5 stars & deserves every one.

I just couldn't see how 'A Cottage Wedding' would have a happy ending. The setting in Heart's Landing is delightful. The people of the town are ones I'd like to know. The conflict Tara, the main character, has is realistically established and portrayed. I was happily carried along in the story to a resolution that brought joy and comfort. Leigh Duncan is expert at showing that there are good people in this world and the power of love to influence positively. I can only hope there are more, like Jason's cousin.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
