Through the broken promises of her former fiancé, Holly is struggling to keep the restaurant afloat and losing her dreams of her bakery. Due to his father's insistence and to save his business, Jed comes to Boise to find his brother and settle their differences. Jed rents the basement apartment from Holly, where his great-grandparents first lived. Through reading his great-grandfather's bible, Jed starts looking at his relationship with his brother differently. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Netgallery. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. I really like how the story is told from Jed's and Holly's point of view as well as flashbacks to Jed's great-grandfather's life. I really like the themes of the prodigal son and faith in the story. I also like the slow growing sweet romance between Jed and Holly. This is an enjoyable read, which also had me reflecting on relationships in my life.

How Sweet It Is by Robin Lee Hatcher is a superb conclusion to what has been one of my favorite Hatcher series. I found the storyline compelling, and it, too, is a book I just could not put down. I enjoyed Holly and Jed’s journey to romance. I found their friendship-to-romance relationship very realistic especially considering the issues that Holly has to overcome. I was so excited to get back to Andrew and Helen Henning’s romance. In book three, we get the conclusion to their great love story, and what an exceptional ending it is! How Sweet It Is really pulled at my heartstrings. I chuckled a little and cried quite a bit. Overall, How Sweet It Is is a wonderful Inspirational Romance that will stick with me long after the final page has been read.

Holly Stanford is a woman who has A LOT on her plate. She deals with residual negative feelings and insecurities from her fiance leaving her. She deals with her failing restaurant business. She deals with her house that needs serious repairs and upgrades. She deals with a near-empty bank account. Holly is running on empty fumes and has very little left to give! In order to protect her heart from the world and men, Holly has built a solid steel wall around it and has decided that from now on she will shoulder every burden that comes her way alone. I have to admit that Holly is so well-written, I was exhausted for her! I may have internally screamed at her to take a break. LOL! What broke my heart the most about Holly is how much of her I see in myself. I, too, take on EVERYTHING. Yes, a lot of this stems from feeling too much and experiencing a ton of hurt and building metaphorical walls around my heart just as Holly does. Like Holly, I kick everyone out and do my best to do everything I can perfectly, but in the end, I take on too much and I burn out and I blow up. There is a moment in the story where Holly takes a day off from her life and I burst into tears. I’ve never felt so relieved for a fictional character before. But, honestly, Holly’s story was super good for me to read. I needed the reminder that I cannot do everything on my own. I have to trust and I have to ask for help because if I don’t the only person who will be hurt at the end of the day will be myself.

There is just too much goodness in How Sweet It Is and the Legacy of Faith series for any one review to do them justice. I highly, highly recommend this book and its series. If you love well-written, unique, and endearing Inspirational, dual-timeline Romances then How Sweet It Is and the Legacy of Faith series are the books you need to read now!

A Recommendation — While each novel in this series can be read as standalone, I HIGHLY recommend reading these books in sequential order. In my honest opinion, the best part of this series is Andrew’s and Helen’s 40-year romance. But, it is told in three parts spanning the three different books in this series. If you read out of order, you will understand the piece of their relationship as it relates to the book you are reading, but you will miss out on the nuances and the history that comes from reading the story as a whole in three parts.

I received a copy of this novel in eBook form from the publisher, Thomas Nelson, via NetGalley in order to review. In no way has this influenced my review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

A dual timeline family tale told from modern-day and the late 1960s. Faith in God displayed by two different men, frames the story. Their trust in God's unconditional love and guidance throughout various challenges in their lives is the overarching theme. Another thread is forgiveness, which is displayed beautifully in the life of the Henning family's patriarch Andrew. Family disputes, romances (yes, more than one!) business successes and failures abound in this sweet new novel by Robin Lee Hatcher. I recommend this to anyone looking for a light Summer read. My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC for this my honest review.

How sweet to be loved by God. This book was a beautiful story of God's love and pursuit of man.
Jed had a dysfunctional relationship with his brother and under ultimatum went to Boise to fix it. Unknowingly to him that it was God ordering his footsteps to fix him and lots more. I loved how submissive he was to God and how devoted and determined he was to fix things even when the odds were against him. I admired the God fearing man he became and how he loved Holly.
Sweet Holly had her own share of disappointments, heartbreaks and bad decisions but I admired her zeal to press on and make a difference in other lives with love and sacrifice. She had her battles with truth and insecurities to fight but she took life in stride and had a God concerned about her to give her a second chance at everything.
Andrew and Helen Jennings story was heartwarming, sweet and inspiring. Most couples don't survive what they did, but they did and came up strong, raising generations of God fearing children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

This book is filled the the faith of generations of individuals whose steps were ordered by God, who went through the most difficult of lives situations but came out victorious because they trusted God and had a God who loved them unconditionally.

I recieved a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

The Legacy of Faith series is a sweet journey through the Henning family in Boise, Idaho beginning with Andrew and his bride, Helen, who married in 1929. These stories are dual timelines taking place today with flashbacks to Andrew and Helen's life, one that was full of troubles seasoned with faith and love to carry them through. Their great grandson, Jed, traveled from Washington state to Boise to try to mend the relationship with his brother Chris, who has been missing. They have a family gaming business, where Jed has the business acumen and Chris is the creative brain. Once he arrives, Jed visits his cousin, Ben, who has some old letters and photos as well as Andrew's old Bible, which has been passed from one family member to another. While he looks up their old apartment, he finds out that it is up for rent and decides to rent it from Holly Stanford, who lives in the main house. Holly inherited a restaurant from her aunt and uncle and is trying to make a go of it but it isn't easy. This story surrounds the relationship that develops between Holly and Jed and their individual lives and how they intertwine eventually. Sprinkled with faith, love, trust, and family relationships, this is a great addition to the series. I recommend reading it in order as one story builds on each other.

"Son," his Dad faced him," I'm going to say this as plainly as I know how. You and your brother will work things out, or I will shut down Laffriot for good and sell its assets to a competitor. Caliban would turn a tidy profit."

And so the story begins. Jed Henning comes to Boise to find his brother, Chris, not because he wants to but because his father has given him an ultimatum to make things right. But while Jed searches for him, he discovers a lot of truths about himself. And why his once close relationship with his brother had gone south. Going through letters and a family bible, he rediscovers his faith and his family while living in Holly Stanford's basement apartment

Holly Stanford is struggling to keep her business, Sweet Caroline's, afloat after her ex-fiancée leaves her. She is left with staggering debt and struggles to run the restaurant left to her by her late uncle. But all Holly wants is to fulfill her dream and bake.

The secondary characters bring interest and a twist to the story. The history of the Henning family is also intertwined in the story. With Jed's great grandparents the principal characters.

Robin Lee Hatcher has written a wonderfully compelling book. One I found hard to put down, as the story drew me in to the lives involved. Holly and Jed, Chris and Willow, Andrew and Helen. Each walking through faith, forgiveness and second chances.

The end of an emotional series from Robin Lee Hatcher!

The first book in the Legacy of Faith series, "Who I Am With You" was my first read from Robin Lee Hatcher, and I was hooked on her books.

Andrew's story throughout the series has been such a wonderful historical story, and though it is sad to end the series it was done in a sweet and good way.

Holly's and Jed's story was just as sweet, and the redemption of their story was so very sweet ... This book was well named and the cover is a perfectly adorable fit for the book.

I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

This has been a really good series! The books are standalones, but I Clyde just enough from previous books to unite them.

I loved Jed in this book - he was so patient and loving. I also loved Holly. In fact I related a lot to her.

Split time novels are always hard for me because they interrupt the story to change time periods. But the story of Andrew and Helen is so sweet. True love.

I loved how God worked in so many lives in this book teaching them that His timing is perfect and that He is always there for them.

I received an advanced copy of this but through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

I loved this book!
This whole Legacy of Faith series is fantastic! How Sweet It Is, is the final book in the series and one you shouldn't miss. If you haven't read the other books in the series you could read this one as a stand alone and you will not be lost as the author does a beautiful job of bringing in tidbits of pertinent info from the previous book.

I love that the family Bible is passed on to a new person, in this book Ben Henning passes Great Grandpa Andrew's Bible on to his cousin, Jed. Jed gleans insite into his ancestor's life through notations in the margins of the Bible. As the word's move him he adds his own notations and prays God's will be done.

The story is beautifully woven from glimpses of the past to what is occurring in the present. day. Holly and Jed are the main characters in this book and are very well crafted. The small Idaho town is a perfect backdrop for the story.

If you like inspirational romance, this is the book for you. I'd highly recommend it.
Thank you Thomas Nelson for the advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion of the book.

Of all the Robin Lee Hatcher books I've read over the years, How Sweet it is is definitely my new favorite. I couldn't get enough of this heartwarming story that focuses around family, friends, romance, and learning to follow God's plan for our lives even when the plan doesn't seem to be leading where we want it to.

With how much I ended up enjoying this one, I'm kind of sad that I didn't read the first two books before I read this one. However, I appreciated the fact that I never felt like I was missing out on the story by picking this one up without reading those two first.

I really enjoyed Holly and Jed's story. The cover is adorable, and I thought it worked perfectly considering how much baking means to Holly. I enjoyed the way their romance develops naturally, and never feels rushed or like insta love, which I'm never personally a fan of. Instead the transition seemed natural from strangers to acquaintances to close friends before finally moving onto something more. Holly's journey wasn't an easy one, but I loved the way that Robin Lee Hatcher used her overcoming all the obstacles in her past to grow closer in her relationship to God. Likewise, Jed's frustrations with his brother have lead to a lot of hurt and turmoil, but through his quest to fix things, he also realizes just how far he himself has strayed from God through the years. The faith element was perfectly blended in, and an integral part of the story, but it never felt preachy or hypocritical and I loved that.

If this whole story has just been Jed and Holly's, I would have still loved it, but having a timeslip element where the reader gets to know the Henning family patriarch, grandpa Andrew, just made this beautiful story even better. I absolutely adored Andrew and Helen and the amazing life they lived for Christ. The choices they made had such an impact on the family for years and years to come, and they are honestly one of the main reasons I want to go back and read the first two books.

Final Rating: 5/5.

I couldn't get enough of this beautiful book, and I'm honestly sad that this is the last book in the series. I can't possibly recommend it enough, especially if you love Christian contemporaries or timeslip novels.

Thanks so much to Thomas Nelson for allowing me to advance read this!

While this is a standalone book, I feel that you the reader would miss out by not reading the whole series. Why you may ask? This book weaves the story of the present in the form of our lead characters but also continues on the story of a descendant of our hero - Andrew Henning. That story is greatly enriched by reading all of the books. Yes, it's a committment but it's worth it.

The book had a great message of trust as many of the characters had to learn to trust someone and give it over to God. I know that this is relatable to most people since we all struggle with this at some point.

I do recommend reading this book (and as previously mentioned, others in the series). I thought it was enjoyable and made me think. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Great book. The characters are interesting and they develop nicely over the course of the book. I've read the other book in this series and it was nice to see some of the characters from previous books at least in passing.

First, let me just say I love both the cover and the title of this book. Both of these led me to expect a sweet and light romance with some baking thrown in for fun. While there were sweet and light parts and a little bit of baking, for me, this story was heavier and way more emotional than I expected. I may have cried like a baby after finishing the story- all the while hoping I didn’t wake my sleeping husband up!

We really have three stories in one in this book. The main story was about Jed and Holly. Their story gave me the sweet and light I was expecting. I liked how their relationship grew, I just wished Holly’s previous experience wouldn’t have played quite the large part it did in their story.

Chris and Willow’s story was one of the secondary stories. I wish we could have an entire book devoted to it. As written, I felt there were too many questions left unanswered, which frustrated me and left me wanting more. I think their full story could’ve been really deep, emotional, and filled with God’s grace and love. Lastly, we had snippets of Andrew and Helen’s story which takes place in the past. This story touched me the most. It was one of forgiveness, love, and God’s peace. This story is the one that had me sobbing like a baby.

I loved how the faith element was seamlessly woven throughout
this story. It was deep and didn’t seem forced. The following quote was one of my favorites from this story because I loved the reminder that God’s timing is always perfect.

“God’s grace came not a moment too soon or too late. It came in the moment it was needed.”

This is the third and, I believe, final story in this series. I have not read the first two books and while I wasn’t lost, I think I would’ve enjoyed this story more had I read the first two stories.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This story is unique because it is told from THREE different points of view. But I think this approach works. "How Sweet It Is" is the third book in Robin Hatcher's Legacy of Faith series. I have not yet read the first two books (but I definitely will at some point especially having read this book). I still was able to follow along with this third title without any problems.

First point of view: Holly Stanford is trying to survive running the restaurant that was never a part of her plans. She has had several major setbacks and seems set on punishing herself for her mistakes. She was stuck. This quote explains part of her frustration with life, and I do not think it is a spoiler. "Holly didn't want or need romantic complications in her life. Especially the kind that couldn't have a happy ending. She'd been there, done that and owned the T-shirt."

Jed Hennings was trying to run his computer company and maybe his brother's life as well. His Dad's lecture proves to be a forced wake-up call. He learns that just as his brother had made some mistakes, he was also at fault and realized that he played the part of the prodigal son's older brother well. He felt like he had a lot to do to make up for his assertive behavior.

The third person's point of view was Jed's great-grandfather Andrew Henning. This is the time lapse portion of the back as it dates back to 1969 when Andrew was older. This was one of the first times I had read a book from an older man's point of view. I thought it was very interesting.

Occasionally switching between three view points was slightly confusing. But learning more about the Henning family was enjoyable. Several minor characters (including some more Hennings) are also important in helping the characters learn about God and about themselves.

The romance element is paced well for the most part. I like the fact that the ending chapter happens four months later.

Although this is a book about a want-to-be pastry chef, only a small part of the story deals with baking. More attention is paid to the relationships part of the story. This book does address starting over and finding second chances. The spiritual component is strong which makes for a great Christian fiction book.

This is one of my favorite quotes that Andrew makes after quoting Scripture.
"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholdeth him with His hand." - That's from Psalm 37. And I realized something when I read it this morning. God directs our steps, but He also directs our stops. There's a purpose in His delays. I've learning that walking is easier than waiting."

'Jesus, even when what you tell me doesn't make sense, I will do as you say. I want that to be my default response, every time.'

Robin Lee Hatcher's books have always been an automatic read for me. Her Legacy of Faith series has certainly been very heartwarming and poignant, this book pouring many blessings into my heart. These books are time slip, going between contemporary and the previous several generations in the Henning family. The Henning ancestors left a strong legacy of faith for their descendants and their prayers and dreams for their family pays off. The part, set in 1969/70 featuring Andrew and Helen Henning was my favorite. I loved those two so much. I loved their deep-seated love for God and each other. That love and their faith in God were constant companions in their lives. So many precious nuggets were found in this book. Highly recommended.

The Legacy of Faith continues in this heart warming story. I love Grandpa Andrew's deep abiding faith. His legacy through his faith in the Word of God resonates throughout this book. I love the thought of passing the family Bible down to the person God has laid upon your heart. Both Andrew and Helen's story and Holly and Jed's story were enjoyable. Recommended!

This is a wonderful story that will touch your heart. The switch between present day and 1969 made for a heartwarming read. I can't say enough good things about this book without letting a spoiler slip out. In my humble opinion this is the best book I've read by Robin Lee Hatcher. This story stays with you long after you read the last page. Thank you Thomas Nelson--FICTION via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

I was grateful to be back in the Henning family sphere. The story of Jed and Holly was delightful, heartfelt and instructive. The time switch back and forth between the present and 1969 was full of tender tears as one can witness how faith can change lives and provide redemption. I hope there are many more to come from Robin Lee Hatcher about this Boise family.

Robin Lee Hatcher has a light touch in her writings that make her works easy to read and follow. She inserts humor in a sometimes understated way, but always with grace and tact. How Sweet It Is is a book that plumbs more spiritual depths than I normally remember from her writings. The overarching theme is forgiveness and acceptance and it pushes the readers to do some soul-searching of their own.

Jed has been charged by his father to make amends with his brother, Chris, and try to get him back into the company Jed and he began. Laffriot is a computer gaming company that has Jed as the business brains and Chris as the creative force.

Chris' last known location is Boise, Idaho, so that is where Jed is headed to try to make contact with Chris. While taking a stroll, he passes by the apartment where his grandparents first lived when they got married. He finds that the apartment is available for rent and his landlady is a beautiful young lady who captures his interest and his eye.

When his cousin gives Jed a box of pictures and memorabilia, Jed finds that his grandfather's Bible is included in the things he needed to go through. There is where Jed finds the answers to his own conundrums about his relationship with his brother.

Robin's style of writing is easy for the reader to follow and to understand. Her setting for this book is charming, and the supporting characters are all likable folk.

This is definitely a four star book, highly entertaining.
