I had fun reading this book. Told from the Cat's point of view, it is filled with humor and lots of pictures. Perfect for cat lovers. Enjoy

Pussweek is the magazine by cats, for cats! There are hilarious articles, quizzes, cat-centric advertisements, and tons of (adorable) kitty pics. Not that you are supposed to be reading it, naughty human! From articles on things to push off tables, and good places to pee, to how to find the perfect box, this is a riot of laughs. Perfect for cat lovers everywhere!

***Many thanks to Netgalley and Chronicle Books for providing an egalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Sadly this is not the book for me. I didn't enjoy the humour. I wouldn't buy it for the library or for myself.

As a heathen human, I would ABSOLUTELY subscribe to Pussweek magazine.

The articles range from the best items to destroy in your human's house, to the dangers of the vacuum cleaner. Advice columns, inspirational imagery for cats of all size and breed.

This was absolutely hysterical.

I like cats. I do. Of course, I like my own cat best.

I also like humor. I thought.

Either way, this sort of magazine turned out not to be for me. Immediately at the introduction I was thinking, this is not funny, and it didn’t really improve. The humor was not my style, many juvenile jokes, but it didn’t seem to be aimed at children per se.

There were a lot of cat pictures, if that’s something you like. But I think you will also be able to find plenty on the internet.

Not for me.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

By cats, for cats. Got thumbs? Get lost. (except, of course if you’re polydactyl) It’s time for feline empowerment – and all the news that’s important to cats. Which famous cat couple was seen having a public spat over a hair elastic? Who was spotted willingly going to the vet?! Gossip columnist Pachinko has the scoop. We’ve got the Top 20 Most Peeworthy Hotspots ranked by pros, cons, and scolding probability. Noob sends greetings and indifference to his loyal readers then issues a public service warning about the Spritz of Death bottle. Don’t let it happen to you, kittens.

Be sure to look for the feline empowerment tips scattered like litter through the pages. And speaking of litter, what does your box say about you? Take the quiz and find out. Then read about Winkles Fishstix’s 24 hours undercover as a dog. Are you bored with your regular scratching post? Let’s examine some other household furnishings that can put the fun back into sharpening your claws as well as things to avoid. Let’s discuss catnip addiction: is your human an enabler and how much is too much?

Is your human a creepy stalker? Do they tell you their problems – and expect you to care? Do they have hundreds of photos of you on their phone? Worst still, do they (hiss!) touch your tummy? We can tell you what your options are. In or outside of doors? It’s your right not to choose. What’s the best size cardboard box for you and what to do with the annoying things that come in them? Why is water death venom when you’re immersed in it but wonderful to drink from the faucet? We don’t know either, but it just is. And just for fun – read your pawroscope. Check out the latest edition of Pussweek for all this and more! B

I love the idea of this magazine for cats written by cats, a parody of fashion and gossip magazines. It's well laid out with great images, quizzes and other magazine style inclusions such as effective workouts, an advice column and even astrological horoscopes. Cute articles included "My day as a dog", "20 Top things to push off the table" and "Boxing Day - it's a card box life". While written with a humorous tone by those who know and love cats, I didn't find it as funny as it could have been. However, all cat owners will certainly relate to most of the entertaining articles and there is much to smile at.

Got Thumbs? Get Lost* (Polydactyl cats exempt, obvs. Calm down).

I love this – it’s Cosmo, but for cats. Top 20 Most Peeworthy Hotspots! My Day as a Dog: One brave cat goes undercover to find out what it’s like to constantly stink and crave human attention! The human conspiracy around vacuums! How feline are you? All this and so much more in this edition of PUSSWEEK! A magazine, by cats for cats. Absolutely hilarious, and would definitely recommend for anyone who loves cats.

I had a lot of fun reading this book told by the point of view of a cat. It's engrossing and entertaining, perfect for any cat lover.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

So hilarious. I'm a "crazy cat lady", so stuff like this is my cup of tea. It's right up there with How to tell if your cat is trying to kill you.

A really funny book that is presented in the form of a magazine about cats. Like any audience-respecting rag, it covers all the issues that its readers may face, like catnip addiction, where to poop, and harrowing accounts of felines whose owners -- and I use the word very loosely, just as my cat would want to -- wait for them to fall asleep before petting their floof and calling em fat! There are quizzes for cats to answer and the cutest pictures for us to drool on.

The only complaint that I had with this read was that its ARC is sent to readers in the form of a DRM protected pdf. Makes reading it really hell on the eyes.

In short, if you love cats -- and they regularly show you how much they loathe your existence -- this is the book for you!

This is a decent magazine for cats. Though I can say that my feline only enjoyed some of the articles.

This parody on weekly "news" magazines (e.g., People or Hello!) is just hilarious, and purrfect for cat lovers. Filled with funny captioned photos of cats, this has sections like "Spotted!", "Who Wore it Better?", and advice articles on decorating your cardboard boxes ("What's the best cardboard box for your body type?") Quizzes such as "What Does Your Litter Box Say About You?" and "Do You Have a Catnip Problem?" get your cat involved in self-analysis. There are also illustrated "Feline Empowerment Tips" scattered throughout, such as "Yawn like a human is talking." There's even an illustrated exercise section (includes fencing, curling, dribble & dunk, and squash) and an advice column ("Dear Ollie"). The only caution I'd share is that, if you're sensitive to bad language this might not be the book for you. This would be a fun gift for any cat lover.

This book was humorous. I thought the idea of this book was really clever and it had a lot of entertaining moments but I just thought it dragged on a bit at the end. I feel like this book could have done a lot better with 30 less pages.

"Pussweek: A Cat's Guide to Feline Empowerment" is a book written for cats by cats ... it's a parody of fashion and celebrity gossip magazines. There are lots of stories, columns, quizzes and advertisements directed toward cats who are obviously more intelligent and superior than we humans including:

* Gossip & Style - Who Wore it Better, Bitch Stole My Look and who's been spotting doing things.
* My Day as a Dog - What it's like to need constant love and attention.
Top 20 Pee-Worthy Hotspots - We've been toiling and soiling to find you the best spots to do a nice widdle.
* The Poop Quiz - What does your litter box say about you? It's talking sh*t probably.
* Going Postal - What should you do when your scratching post is just not enough.
* Exposing the Nip - The catnip debate continues.
* Boxing Day - It's a cardboard life. Or is it? Yes, yes it is.
* Creeper Alert - 5 signs your human might be a cat-obsessed nut job
* Top 20 Things to Push Off a Table - Let's take things down a notch. To the floor, specifically.

"Pussweek" is a fun and amusing book and cat lovers will enjoy it. As a head's up, the language is colourful at times. It's full-colour and loaded with fabulous pictures of kitties.

OMG...I've been howling reading this one. Parody of celebrity style magazine written from a feline perspective with gorgeous photos and hilarious articles such as "MY DAY AS A DOG <i>One brave cat goes undercover to find out what it's like to constantly stink and crave human attention.</i>" Or "What Does Your Litterbox Say About YOU?" Comments are sometimes a little edgy and might be a little rough for some people, but I absolutely loved it. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to read this so bad! I do not have a way to open the file, even on my computer, I cannot get Overdrive, without a chromebook, and the only tablet I have is the Kindle. I really wish i could read this. It looked so fun! I wanted to post a review anyway, but it is hard when I have not really read it.

Review to come in April on Blog/Goodreads

One of the books I just had to try out on Netgalley. I love cats and this one also promised to add a magazine feel to it. The previews I saw on Amazon convinced me this would be a book I would enjoy. And boy, enjoy I did. This was just the book I need in this 17th day of staying inside (and by the time you all read this it will be many more days). I need something to distract me and something to make me laugh.

The book starts with notices to both humans and cats, I have to say I wasn't a fan of both. Sorry. I am just getting a bit tired of the whole cats bashing humans thing that I see quite often in books with cats as main theme. And there are a few other parts in the book that were a bit cringy and had me rolling my eyes. I get that cats have this whole attitude of boo humans, but still it just wasn't my thing to read.

The pee thing was a bit awkward, I know this is a magazine for cats, but I was just disgusted by that.

But there was plenty of good in the book that I enjoyed. Like the gossip, what to scratch guide (and also what NOT), various articles by cats, cute photography, and more. I loved the quizzes and other fun games that were added. My favourite article was definitely the one about boxes. Who can resist cute cats in boxes?

But yeah, I had trouble reading it, it may be a combo of the writing (which at points just felt like it tried too hard to be funny) + cats being unnecessarily horrible + headache, it was a shame. It took me quite a bit of time to get this book and I had to motivate myself with some RuPaul to actually get this one read.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for sharing this book with me for an honest review.

This book is adorable. It is written form a cat’s view in an almost tabloid style way. Lots of good tips for other cats and a special piece written by a cat who was a dog for a day. This is a quick and easy read that will keep you laughing.

I would recommend to everyone who loves cats.
