This is a smashing book that covers the life long history of a friendship between 3 girls. I love that the story covers all stages in their lives and has lots of ups and downs. I found all the character's to be very believable as they dealt with differing lives.

I absolutely adore Ruth Jones, she can do no wrong in my opinion. This has been a fantastic read and one that I have found utterly impossible to put down. This captured my attention and I have loved everything about it. Definitely a five star read which I highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed this book, a true journey of friendships, love and grief. It was emotional and times but done beautifully. I was equally invested in all three of the main characters and each of the side stories, it wasn’t over complicated and was set out/formatted well!

I did enjoy this although I found the characters a little shallow. I didn’t particularly like any of the characters, I thoroughly disliked one of the three main ones although I’m not sure if I was supposed to. I don’t like the use of “alright, how’s it going, alright?” I’m from the welsh valleys and not once have I ever heard anyone greet another person in that way.
Having said that, the story was well told and it did hold my attention until the end.

Heart-warming, poignant, life-affirming story of three very different Welsh women: Lana Lloyd, Judith Metcalf and Catrin Kelly. Told in part through flashbacks to previous decades, the reader is invited to join their lives, loves, tragedies and triumphs spanning three decades. The story is brimming with Ruth Jones' trademark wit, humour and knack for tugging at the reader's heartstrings and I absolutely loved every word, every sentence, every paragraph, every page. We meet the three women as teenagers preparing to go on a rites of passage holiday; island hopping around the Greek Isles after their A-Levels. From charting the very early years of their friendship we follow their lives through first loves, heartbreak, marriages, children and divergent career paths: acting, medicine and local government. A cataclysmic event between Lana and Judith (Jude) has devastating consequences for their friendship, fracturing the bonds that once held them so close and the ripple effects of which are still being felt over thirty years later. The story packs a powerful emotional punch with humour and pathos in droves, as well as all the warmth and compelling, believable characters we have come to love Ruth Jones for. Thank you for the ARC review.

Catrin, Judith and Lana mat in their first week at primary school and became inseparable. They even took a vow to be friends forever but would that last as they left home and started their adult lives?

Well written with twists and turns along the way, I would definitely recommend this book.

I was slightly unsure about Us Three for the first few chapters. I felt I could hear Ruth Jones’ distinctive voice too much in all the characters. However, as the three central women became more distinctive she faded away and I became totally absorbed. It’s the story of 3 childhood friends and moves through their lives from teens to mid 50s. There is warmth, humour , and rather a lot of sadness in their lives and you find yourself really carrying about them. I was close to tears at one point. Ruth can really write and manipulates her reader with ease, it’s a wonderful book and deserves to do very well.

This story about three friends who first meet at the age of five captivated me. Watching the characters grow up and seeing how their relationships and the people around them changed was fascinating. In particular, there was a fantastic depiction of a mother who was a very nasty, but entertaining, character indeed!

I felt invested in the characters, cared about them, and wanted to keep reading to see what would happen to them next.

I would recommend this book wholeheartedly, especially to those who like reading about friendship and extended families. If you enjoyed Grown Ups by Marian Keyes, you may also like this.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a free advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I love Ruth Jones so I was super excited to read this and I’m very glad I did as it is absolutely brilliant. I was hooked from the very first chapter. It’s laugh out loud funny but also very emotional too. I loved all the characters. I’m slightly envious of the relationship between Cat , Judith and Lana lol. I highly recommend this book. I’m gutted I’ve finished it as I was enjoying following their journey.

This was such a lovely story told in an emotionally charged but humourous way.
I've always liked Ruth Jones way with words, so was a little concerned when there seemed to be little comedic content in this coming of age story. However the way Ruth Jones tells the story of these three friends with a fair bit of gravitas, but with a little humour creates a good balance that draws you in to the lives of the people in Coed Celyn (it's Welsh for Holly Wood)

This book kept me turning the pages and I became involved in the lives of three friends Cathrin, Judith and Lana. I loved reading about the ups and downs of their friendship and it was relevant to me as I am a similar age. The writing is lovely and light and while the book has its serious moments, it is always an entertaining read. There were funny moments as well. It’s very skilfully written. It made me think of my long term friendships and how important they are. More than anything, this is a book to get lost in, in these difficult times, and it was just what I needed! Thank you very much for the advance copy. I will certainly be recommending it to friends when it is published.

#UsThree follows the friendship of best friends Lana, Judith and Catrin over the years.⁣

Alternating chapters tell the story from each of the characters view points, and with each chapter you grow invested in all of them. Its a story of friendship, betrayal, love and will make you thankful for the friendships you have. ⁣

Heres the description to get you interested... ⁣

After the trip of a lifetime in Greece, the three girls are closer than ever. But an unexpected turn of events shakes the foundation of their friendship to its core, leaving their future in doubt – there’s simply too much to forgive, let alone forget. ⁣

Ruth Jones is a beautiful writer and I was so pleased to get an early copy via @netgalley. I heard Ruth speak at an @edbookfest event two years ago about her debut Never Greener and she said she was excited about the next book she was working on. So I've been patiently waiting for it ever since.. ☺️

I enjoyed this book but not as much as I thought I would. I was expecting a. light hearted read which it wasn’t. I did find a part of it really emotional towards the end, I read it through tears. All in all, well written but not what I was expecting. Don’t think I would recommend it to anyone, sorry

This was my first time reading a book by Ruth Jones and I was very intrigued to see what her style of writing would be. I have to say I expected the book to contain more humour but nevertheless I did enjoy the story. It was a good book but not probably something I would remember later on.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC

What a lovely book, this is the first I've read of Ruth Jones, but I was delighted to get a copy having loved her in Stella & Gavin & Stacey.
Loved everything about this book, the characters of the 3 main girls are so well written it felt like I knew them and I enjoyed all the ups and downs in their lives even if it broke my heart.
I enjoyed all the Welsh expressions and hearing about events from each character's point of view.
I couldn't wait to see how it ended, but now I'm so sad it's finished.
Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for the advance digital copy in return for my review.

I wasn’t sure how this book was going g to be as I love the author as an actor so wondered how she would be as an author and I shouldn’t have worried! I adored this book!! The characters are so relatable and the storyline has twists and turns and happy parts, sad parts and is just a lovely book to read. I enjoyed every chapter and enjoyed the different points of view. I loved hearing the welsh phrases and descriptions of Wales I wish I could read this book for the first time again

I enjoyed reading this and really hearing Ruth Jones' voice in the writing! I enjoyed her first novel more, but this is a lovely easy read and kept me hooked all the way through.

I struggled with this, being from Ruth Jones I think I expected far more humour than there was. Saying that it was a good story and well written.
