Welcome to Your Period! is a book that every girl and young woman needs to read at least once. It's a thorough and scientifically accurate guide to having a vagina and period.
I love how they address virtually everything related to the topic, yet manage to explain with such easy language - it's a great way to help girls understand what's up without going into medical details that they don't necessarily want or can even understand yet. The added notes from girls and women about their experiences is another amazing part to the book - it helps see that we all have some awkward and/or bad experiences, but in the end all is good, as having a period is normal.
The illustrations in the book are another great thing about it - we see girls of all shapes and colours, which serves to reminds us that we all get our periods the same way, no matter how different we may look on the outside. And the pictures themselves are cool and beautiful.
Another great point is that the authors mention sanitary products outside of traditional pads and tampons - cups, reusable pads and period panties are amazing and deserve to be more widely know and used.
I'm a bit sad that when I was at the age when I needed such a book, they weren't really accessible in my country, or very short and missing a lot of information outside "you bleed and need pads", I would have really benefited from it. On the other hand, I'm excited that young girls will be able (soon) to get this book and read it and learn.

Overall, amazing book, highly recommended!

In this book, we learn all about starting your period with handy advice about what they are, types of products to use of which there are more options now than before when I started mine years ago and how it can differ for every woman out there.

It was a colourful and nicely illustrated book including body positive drawings of various girls each of which will have a period showing every girl gets it, you just can't tell when they're on it from sight.

Another point I loved about the book is that it includes real life quotes and sharing stories/experience about being on your period too making people more aware than virtually any situation has occurred before it's not a worry or unique to happen this book overall is a big relieving hand book for every young girl to have or read!

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

This is a clear and inclusive guide to periods that is perfect for any girl! The language is easy to understand, and the visuals cute enough to demystify a topic that can feel awkward.
