I really liked this book. Loved the genre, the characters, and the back story. Very well written and very descriptive and fun to read.

There are a lot of people in abusive relationships, and all of them would like to get out and leave them all behind. The issue is sometimes they can't. This is a story of a lady that was able to leave it all behind and disappear, literally disappear, at least for a while.

She grew up in Alaska off the grid, so she had some great skills that she was able to tap into when she decided enough was enough. She made sure everything on the outside looked like she still lived there, but on the backside, she changed what she looked like, changed her name and backpacked away from there.

Finally she found the perfect place for her. She started over, created a new life and live the way that she wanted too. Enough now, you have to read between the lines of the story to get the rest of the information. Enjoy!

Wow this book was just so good and so easy to get lost in. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I just didn't want it to end. I just couldn't get enough of these wonderful characters and I just loved getting to see their journey. I will most definitely be reading more stories from this wonderful author.

This is a lovely little romance not only between Cathy and Duke, but the town of Blessings as well. The banter of the residents make you feel like it’s a real place with real people that have known each other for years. I liked Cathy and Duke right away, enjoying how they just knew there was something between them and no need to fight the attraction. The physical part of their relationship was behind doors, relying on the romance and friendship, so it will appeal to a wide range of readers. At times it seemed a little too sweet, but the suspense kept it from going into syrupy territory. This story can be read as a stand-alone.

Everyone needs a town like Blessings, where most everyone is kind and helpful and truly care about one another.

I think people looking to change their lives somehow end up in Blessings. That is the case for Cathy who has left an abusive ex-husband and looking for a fresh start in life. She has quite an interesting background and some crazy skills as you will find out as you read this book.

Duke has lived in/near Blessings nearly all of his life and while he is happy, he hasn't found that one woman that would complete his life....until he comes across Cathy after she has taken a tumble while jogging. He is a goner soon after that moment.

The romance is sweet and not too rushed. There are some very touching moments in the last part of the book as Cathy sets out to make a difference in the town. You'll have to read the book to find out what exactly she does and how it is received.

This is a great series and I highly recommend it for anyone that likes small town southern fiction.

I can’t tell you how much I love Blessings, GA. It is hard to describe how this story fills my heart. It truly is an “all the feels” kind of read. It has everything I love but more than that, it takes me back to the land of the simple romance stories of yesteryear. Eek.

Cathy and Duke are beautiful together. Our heroine is on the run from a dangerous ex-husband. I love what a beautiful mixture of tough and classy she is. She has lived an eclectic life. Duke is my dude. He is all about family and the community of Blessings. He has experienced loss but has maintained a heartwarming connection to his family. SOOO GOOD! These two together create a sweet read with the right amount of anxiety at times.

The icing on the cake for me was getting to revisit the community of Blessings GA and all the beloved characters from previous storylines. Wink. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!

Plan for a resolution to this story that is creative and gives me the perfect ending to this couple’s tale. Ugh you also will get a tease that this author has become known for in this series. It is beautifully cruel. Hee hee. Definitely a recommended read. Hope you enjoy as much as I did. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO

Veronica – ☆☆☆☆
It was lovely to be back in Blessings, Georgia. Once in a Blue Moon is the tenth book in the series and you’d think I’d be getting tired of it by now, but I still love it and look forward to every book and spending time with these good people.

We see divorcee Cathy Terry stopping in town for the winter after walking out on her life after threats on her life from her ex-husband. When she falls while out jogging, local farmer Duke stops to help her. This is where Terry’s introduction to how the good people of Blessing look after their own begins. And so does a budding romance between Duke and Terry.

Terry is a strong woman who came from humble beginnings and married a millionaire but she is right at home in Blessings. Duke is a big, overprotective farmer with a history of saying the wrong thing to women and seeing him smitten with Terry was cute. He treats her like a queen and I loved that.

Aside from the sweet romance, which is central to the story, we deal with accidents, cattle rustling, a rabid animal, shootings, a viral video, and much more. There is never a dull moment and the story flows well and is so entertaining. I loved Once in a Blue Moon. This is another great story from Sharon Sala.

Blessings, Georgia is such a comforting place to travel to. This small town is full of nice people who are ready to help each other and lend a helping hand to the people who need it the most.

Cathy Terry left her life in Las Vegas behind after her divorce. Her ex-husband was an abusive and dangerous bastard. He's involved in some shady businesses too. After her ex-husband threatens her life, she knows it's time to leave Las Vegas and she decides to head south. When she gets to Georgia, the town of Blessings looks like the right place to spend winter.

While going for a jog, Cathy injures herself, and thankfully, Duke Talbot witnesses her fall and he's there to help her. This is a new experience for Cathy, who has been doing everything for herself. She couldn't count on anyone else for a long time.

Duke is a farmer. He shares living space with his brother and his brother's wife. He has not had time for love or to find a wife. Nevertheless, the more time he is around Cathy, the more he starts believing in happy endings.

Once in a Blue Moon is surely a great addition to this wholesome series. I like how we get to revisit the past characters' developments.

The Blessings, Georgia series is a sweet one. It might be too sweet for readers but not for this one. I need some sweet in my life from time to time, particularly during 2020.

I have read all of the Blessings, Georgia books and I can honestly say that this is one of those series that Sharon Sala has continued to write excellent and enjoyable additions to it! We first met Duke Talbot in A Piece of My Heart (Blessings #4) and even though Once in a Blue Moon stands alone I recommend going back and reading that story because Duke was quite the character in it! He and his brother run a ranch outside of Blessings and Duke is a great guy but he's rather stuck in his ways so he hasn't met the right lady that fits him. Well his luck is changing when he drives by as sees Cathy Terry fall and twist her ankle while jogging in Blessings. Cathy is new to Blessings. She has a troubled past and life has led her here to heal. She and Duke hit it off right away but you can only outrun your past for so long before it finds you. This time Cathy isn't alone because not only will Duke be standing by her side but the entire town of Blessings is there to take care of one of it's own! In times like these I need these uplifting stories of love, hope and kindness. Blessings may be a fictional town but I love reading about it and getting lost in its pages. As with all the books in the series it is full of love, hope, inspiration, kindness and just a bit of heat.

This story and series was very intriguing to me. I like small towns and relatable stories. However, this just isn't my series. It may have worked better for me if I had started at the beginning, but it felt a little wordy. Thank you for letting me read!

This author always entertains me, whether it be a small town romance or a suspense. This one was a bit of both.
I love the town of Blessings, never known small town life myself, perhaps it would be a blessing and a curse...no secrets. Going to this town is like putting on comfy slippers, whether you've read them all or just a few, each story stands alone. I do love revisiting past characters though, seeing their journeys.
Cathy and Duke are great characters. She's on the run from her ex and he's just an all round good guy.
Rabid coyote, possible hit-man, small town gossip all make a very funny and entertaining tale with of course a happy ending. Loved it, bring on the next one.

This was a great installment in the Blessings, Georgia series! I love Cathy's story. This is one of the best smalltown romance series and this story shows why! Cathy is such a strong heroine and I absolutely adored Duke. I definitely recommend this book and the entire Blessings series!

It was good to be back in Blessings, Georgia. To me this is small town living at it’s best. I just loved Cathy’s story. From her childhood to her happily ever after, I enjoyed every bit of it. She is a strong woman, who has some now not so hidden talents. Course there has to be other characters in the story and these are a special bunch. The Talbot’s and friends are awesome! The love and compassion they feel for each other is what I think all of want in our lives. I wasn’t ready for it to end, but end it must. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

Such a touching story from one of favorite authors that I haven't read in a long time, which is bad on my part. Could not put it down.

Seldom do you run across a heroine as strong as the one Sharon Sala has written in Once in a Blue Moon. Cathy is determined to start a new life and she knows how to go about it. She leaves everything she has and everyone she knows to hike alone across the country to escape a powerful and abusive ex-husband. When her old life starts catching up to her, she fights back to keep the life and love she has found in Blessings, Georgia.
Duke doesn't believe a life including love is in the cards for him--until he scoops Cathy up off the ground and into his arms. He embraces the strength she portrays, but is right there to protect her when she needs a little help. Awesome hero.
I was drawn into this book right from the first page. Great story telling by Ms. Sala.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

What a joy it is to return to Blessings, Georgia and all of it’s small town stories. It feels like returning home and finding out all the things you have missed out on since your last visit. Cathy is the newest visitor to Blessings, and she ends up there while running from a bad marriage and divorce. Duke is a life long resident and on one of her first days in town, as she is jogging, she twists her ankle. Duke sees it happen, and having a rescue complex comes to her aid. It is the beginning of a courtship although neither knows it yet! I really enjoyed both Cathy and Duke’s personalities, which fit in well with the entire vibe of Blessings. This was literally a one sitting read for me as I was lucky enough to be able to sit on my screen porch this afternoon and catch up on all the wonderful characters of Blessings!

The tenth book in the Blessings, GA series, Once in a Blue Moon by Sharon Sala held my attention just as much as the first prequel did years ago. Ms. Sala has a hit with this Southern town of good people which Cathy Terry learns firsthand. Coming to Blessings as a winter layover from traveling she finds friends, love, and a place to call home. It just makes you want to go live there too. If only it was not simply a fictional town.

One of the things that I love about this series which is so clear in Cathy’s experience is the kindness, true goodness of the place. Even those who suffer from poor choices find second chances to make better ones for a better future. Duke Talbot has known this all along. Why he is still single is a question all ask including Cathy. Since I live in a small Southern town I found him to be not so unusual. There are men who will not settle for second best but wait for the real thing.

The story is written like life in a small town, the pace may seem slower and the activities not so adventurous but this is life. Ms. Sala captures it completely and truly. I raise o glass of sweet iced tea to her, Duke, Cathy and all the good folk of Blessings. Bless their hearts, and I mean that in the nicest of ways. Thank you Ruby for turning that statement around from a Southern negative joke to a positive uplifting one.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
