I am a big fan of Sharon Sala's 'Blessings, Georgia' series, and 'Once in a Blue Moon' is a wonderful new book in that series. I think what I like about it is that even though the main characters go through troubles, they come through their troubles into happiness if they just persevere. Even the "bad guys" get what they deserve! This particular entry in the series features Cathy Terry, a divorced woman whose ex-husband is threatening her life. She runs and ends up in Blessings, where she meets Duke Taylor, and the story takes off from there. I highly recommend 'Once in a Blue Moon' for a compelling and satisfying read.

I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This talented writer had my full attention on page one. It took only until the second page for her to secure my complete devotion and investment in the characters, and her gift for storytelling is exquisite and unparalleled. Blessings, GA, is one of those delightful, inviting, fictional small towns I would give anything to be able to live in.

Sala then adds in quirky, endearing, overwhelmingly relatable characters with human shortcomings. She breaks our hearts with their challenges, knits it back together with their healing and has us celebrating their victories as if they’re our own.

Cathy Terry stumbles upon Blessings, GA, after divorcing her abusive, controlling husband and backpacking across the country in an effort to hide from him. She's looking to make a new start and keep a low profile, so she hasn’t met many of the good folks in Blessings.

That all changes when Duke Talbot sees Cathy take a nasty fall while she's jogging and charges in to help her. Between Duke's assistance and his inadvertently spreading the news about Cathy’s injury, it’s not long before half the folks in Blessings are stopping by Cathy's place to offer help. As anyone from a small town knows, when you’re welcomed into the fold you become family, and family protects its own. And when Cathy's past catches up with her, she’s going to need their help.

This book feels like coming home to a place where mistakes are forgiven, everyone lends a hand, and hurting souls find healing and redemption. With a little suspense, a sweet romance, and a ride that takes you through every emotion, Cathy and Duke's story is one you won’t want to miss. After just one taste, you’ll fall in love with Blessings and find yourself reading your way through this inspiring, heartwarming, phenomenal series.

*Thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for the early galley of this book, and my apologies to the twenty other books I had in front of this one on my TBR.

Cathy left a dangerous relationship by backpacking away so her ex-husband would have trouble finding her. She ended up in Blessings where she felt comfortable and safe. When she falls when jogging, Duke is her knight in shining armor! Their relationship takes off while the town of Blessings does what it always does to a newcomer. I love this series, and cannot wait until the next one comes out! Please keep them coming Sharon Sala!

This is my first book by this author. I loved the town of Blessings and all the people there. Cathy is a very strong woman who escapes her past and finds life, love, friendship, and purpose in Blessings. Great book of overcoming our past and helping others!

Sharon Sala has brought us back the Blessings, Georgia where we meet the newest resident Cathy Terry. Those who live in Blessings know Cathy as the redhead who runs past their stores and homes in the morning and keeps to herself. So far, no one has gotten close enough to know what brought her here nor any details from her previous life. We learn that she was married to Blaine Wagner whose family name, money, businesses, and powerful associates meant something in Vegas. Fearing for her life, she makes preparations and disappears without a trace and stops at Blessings to hole up for the winter and hide from life. Cathy meets and learns about the various characters of Blessings when she goes for her morning run, but ends up hurting herself and Duke Talbot takes her to the hospital. Word spreads and soon the residents are all helping out to make life easier for her whether she wants the intrusion or not.

Going back to Blessings gives the readers an update on the residents and it is always nice to visit with them and see what is going on with their lives. It is always a nice feeling to go back and check in with the familiar faces and meet new people who end up there for whatever reason. Will Cathy be able to let Duke and the rest of Blessings into her life or will she continue to hide? Will Blaine win in the end or will Duke and Blessings show her that there is such a thing as happily ever after?

Whether this is your first visit to Blessings or not, this is a stand alone story. I do recommend reading about the other residents of Blessings since you will want to know about them all and appreciate the glimpses you get each time you stop by Blessings. I have enjoyed reading Cathy and Duke's story and look forward to the next adventure in Blessings. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this privilege.

Cathy's life has been anything but easy and her new start in Blessings brings so many great people in her life including dreamy Duke. Enjoyed the instant connection between these two. Author Sharon Sala certainly knows how to write all the emotions enough to have me choked up a few time. Definitely recommend as a read.

Cathy is escaping her abusive husband when she hikes cross country and ends up in Blessings, Georgia. The people of the town welcome her as only Blessings can. ARC from NetGalley.

This is a delightful addition to the Blessings series, but it could easily be read as a stand alone. The author makes the little southern town of Blessings feel like home. The characters are great and you feel like you would be welcome in this little town. I love the characters, some of them are quirky, but all are likable and relatable. I look forward to visiting Blessings again in the next book in the series. Thank you to net galley for and advanced readers copy.

First I would like to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for allowing me the opportunity to review this book and give my honest review.

I am a huge Sharon Sala fan. I found this series when book five was first released and anxiously wait for each new books. I have found myself in search of my own Blessings, Georgia where your neighbors become your best friends and family (and where Lovey serves the best breakfast in town thanks to Mercy's biscuits!) This book starts with Cathy, a divorcee who is being stalked by her powerful ex-husband in Las Vegas. She fears for her life so she flees Las Vegas and happens to find Blessings where she rents a house. She is a runner who has an unfortunate accident after being spotted by Duke Talbot, the every loving brother in law to Hope. What follows is a journey back to love and to what a small town with heart can accomplish.

All of your favorite characters are mentioned. I am a long time Lon and Peanut Butterman fan. And always love to see Lovey having her happy ending.

I highly recommend this book and dread the day when this series ends and I have to say good bye to my favorite southern town.

After leaving an abusive marriage Cathy falls back on her Alaskan roots and backpacks across the country landing in Blessings, Georgia. While out on a run, something unheard of for this sleepy and quaint town, Cathy twists her ankle. Along comes her white knight, Duke, who shows how generous a heart he has buy offering a helping hand. Along with a familiar cast of characters Duke helps Cathy find herself and a new home in Blessings. Their romance starts with a friendship and grows from there. It’s a soft and sweet romance with a bit of intrigue as Cathy deals with her past, a strong female lead and a gentle cowboy. You do not need to read the previous Blessings books to enjoy this story but if you have ( and I do recommend)you’ll love seeing all the familiar faces and their funny side stories. This is a nice quick romance. 5 stars. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Duke Talbot is know for his inability to filter his opinions, especially around strong, self-sufficient women. He meets his match in Cathy Terry. Cathy is running from a possessive ex-husband. Duke's need to help is just what Cathy finally realizes will give her love and peace.
>>Another excellent addition the the Blessing series. These books are a joy to read and following the characters from each novel to the next is a major drawing factor. Can't wait until the next story to be told. Ms.Sala always gives the reader a small "tease" as to who and what is coming in the future. Can't wait for the next novel.

Loved this book as I did with the other books in this series. Blessings is such a welcome town that everyone who reads these books wish they lived there. Cathy arrives in to to escape a threat from her ex husband. Having lived in Vegas she is amazed at the friendly and helpful people in town after she has an accident. Duke is her hero who comes to her rescue and they are attracted to each other from the start. Great book!

Once in a Blue Moon is a well-written book that tells the tale of Cathy and Duke. Cathy spent her formative years living off the grid in Alaska before moving with her mother to Las Vegas where she ultimately married Blaine. Blaine was a very wealthy casino owner who had a dark side. Cathy escapes her marriage and finds herself in Blessings, GA where she meets Duke. Duke's family is part of Blessings' core and he's a well-respected part of the community, working the family ranch with his brother. The book starts strong with Duke helping Cathy when she injures herself while on a run. Duke and the town rally around Cathy and over time she becomes part of the pattern of the town. In the chapters immediately after they meet, Duke proves that he's a man worth holding on to while never doing anything to rush his evolving relationship with Cathy.

While this book is part of a series it can be read standalone. I was able to keep up and I haven't read any of the other Blessings books. That's a double-edged sword, though, because the author spent quite a bit of time on characters from previous books and other Blessings residents. While that was helpful in providing context, it made the middle of the book drag a bit for me and some characters offered no value to the story imho.

There's a lot of good in this book including the character development of Duke and Cathy, their kindness and generosity, small town relationships and the pace at which they fell in love. While Cathy and Duke venture into the bedroom, those scenes are PG-13 and leave a ton to the imagination. My personal preference for a lot more spice does not reduce my rating because I respect that this author knows her audience.

There were a few things that didn't work for me. Cathy's ridiculously huge divorce settlement is mentioned in the opening chapters and an obvious move for anyone with that kind of money would have been to hire someone far, far away from Nevada to look after her interests. She did not and she's too smart for that. In the middle of the book Cathy runs into an associate from her past and her reaction is underwhelming given her circumstances (trying to avoid spoilers in this review.) Cathy faces two potentially life altering events where she finds herself the hero. When combined with the life she escapes, these situations make her really, really lucky. Cathy is a smart, strong woman and has a couple of lapses in common sense and in her typical empathy towards others. Duke, on the other hand: perfect!

All that said, Once in a Blue Moon is a pleasant way to spend a few hours and I did enjoy it even though it's not my standard fare. I am very grateful to SourceBooks Casablanca for gifting me with a review copy of Ms. Sala's book. I recommend it to those who prefer connected, small town stories that are cleaner. You'll enjoy this one.

Once in a Blue Moon by Sharon Sala features Cathy and Duke taking us back for the 10th visit to Blessings, GA. A sweet romance with a HEA ending. Well written with reliable characters told with a touch of humor. Updates on family relationships, neighbors, and the community is like visiting old friends. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Thinking it is time to go back and reread some of the previous books, I'm not ready to leave Blessings, GA just now.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

The latest installment in Sharon Sala's Blessing, Georgia series is just what you would expect after reading her other books in the series. It's sweet with a guaranteed happily ever after ending. Cathy is a strong heroine who knows how to take care of herself and those around her. After fleeing her ex-husband she ends up in Blessings, Georgia where she is welcomed and she finds love again. It was fun revisiting previous books characters and seeing things from Duke's perspective. Once they do fall in love however, I felt like the pacing sped up and the author tried to insert too many events into that short period of time and the story line became a bit choppy. That said, Sharon Sala's books have always been a favorite of mine and I will always read what she publishes.
