An interesting collection of stories. However, I didn't love it as much as I hoped to but I'm glad I was able to read it!

I absolutely LOVED this book! Funny and heart-warming, it was what I call a "fun read"...the decriptions of family members, and the relationships with her mother were particularly touching. I would read this again, just for the sheer enjoyment and some hearty laughter! Christie's honesty and lack of concern for what others' thought made this a great book.

Funny. Laugh out loud funny. I stayed up late to finish this book then read this book in bed and woke up my husband laughing out loud. I fell in love with Ferdinand. I laughed until I had tears in my eyes reading about the English wedding. I did not know you can be locked into an English pun and drink all night. My wanderings in England were so staid. Driving in Iceland? I was breathless from laughing. Visiting grandparents in Florida? Boy, could I relate. I did that too and now I can laugh about it. Did all grandparents in Florida have that same couch? I enjoyed reading about her dancer mother, oceanographer father, and her grandparents. Especially her grandparents. I spent a lot of time with my grandparents. And who takes up Swedish in college? These experiences and more are the hilarious adventures of the author coming of age through the lens of a true comedian. I was given the opportunity to read this book and get some real belly laughs by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for a review.

The author's glimpses into her world were poignant yet full of humor. She reminds the reader that there is laughter to be found in all situations if you do choose.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC copy of Elephants in My Room in return for my honest review.

I was not very familiar with Christie Nicholls before reading Elephants in My Room. Reading her book was a perfect introduction to her and her humor as well as perspective on her life experiences. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, it was a perfect combination of laughter as well as the emotional recollection of her childhood and her relationships with family, friends, and pets.

You truly feel as if you are experiencing the events as they unfold. This was a book that you are sad when you finish, Christie Nicholls keeps you wanting for more!

Thank you #Netgalley for the copy!

Such a fun read via short essays. Loved how the book was broken up into categories. The book covers serious topics as well as funny experiences at just the right balance. This books makes me want to hangout with her and just listen to her stories over a glass of wine.

I actually have really enjoyed reading nuggets out of this book. It reads as a series of loosely linked essays so that they can be read at your leisure. They have made me laugh out loud and I would strongly recommend this book to others that love a good comedy memoir!

No, you don’t know Nicholls , but as she points out at the beginning of her book, Snooki and several of the Kardashians have written books too. And Nicholls is funny and likable . From her childhood, spent all over the world courtesy of her scientist father’s job, to her awkward and all too relatable adulthood, the dog loving Nicholls had me laughing, smiling and nodding my head in understanding.
