I voluntarily read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine

I loved Leslie North and this partnership with Katie Knight works really well, I think
I've read a few others with this partnership and this one does not disappoint

Really enjoyed it

Great characters and loved the story

What an unexpected association here.
I think Ele was too much independent and I didn’t like that contract they signed.
I don’t know about this baby travelling around the world. But all in all it I does the job.

This novella caught my attention and drew me in
Eleanor really wants to be a mum and she asks her friend David to be the father to her child. They sign a contract absolving him of any need to be involved before they set about making her pregnant
David is a SEAL and is working in Africa on a mission to prevent a country falling into civil unrest. Imagine his surprise therefore when he bumps into Ele and their daughter Rose in a cafe on the outskirts of town. It’s the first time he has seen Ele since she became pregnant and the first time he meets Rose
Eli is a free lance photographer who is in Africa to photo a rare butterfly never seen that far north before but danger lurks in the shadows and David comes to protect her and Rose, keeping them safe until they can get out of the country
I loved David, his determination to keep Ele and Rose safe came through so strongly. He might have sworn to stay away and let Ele raise Rose without his interference but he has always liked her and it’s getting harder and harder to stay away from her. Even when things are dangerous his every instinct is to protect them and he is the kind of hero that I dream of!
Ele is very independent and resents David’s involvement to start with but when things start to get dangerous she realises that he is just trying to protect her and she again finds herself drawn to him
This book is full of danger and drama and the characters are very loveable (even if at times they really annoyed me!) which kept me reading
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy their romances with a dramatic backdrop and heart stopping hero’s

I received the ARC from Netgalley and voluntarily chose to review.

This is a sweet story about two friends who are willing to help each other out. Eleanor just wants baby and asked the one person she could trust to help her out. David is happy to help out his best friend and make her dream come true. They struggle with their feelings and how to approach the situation once the baby Rose was born. Neither were sure the other would feel the same way. Fate has other goals for them and in an unlikely event, brought these two back together.

This book is told in dual POV that provide you with a good sense of how they are feeling internally. Danger is in the air and these two need to work through their feelings to make the best decision for not only themselves but also for Rose.

The SEAL's Baby Deal
by Katie Knight and Leslie North

Eleanor Thornton a freelance wildlife photographer and David Hettinger a navy seal have been friends since childhood. Eleanor asks him to father a child with her no strings attached and they enter a contract. 2 years later Eleanor is abroad with Rose her child in Africa whilst taking wildlife photographs when a coupe breakout. David is part of the seal team sent in to help get the new ruler into place & get Eleanor & rose out.

Ok read a bit slow & a lot of repetition in the storyline. Dragged a bit.

This tells the story of two best friends who have a baby together but are not in a relationship. However, both have feelings for each other and this story explores how they find their way to each other. I don't even know how to explain it, but this book was so boring for me :( I even skipped at the end because the story was just not engaging enough. Plus, there were some stupid decisions made that really did not make me take it seriously...

I enjoyed this story. Two peiple who had known each other for year suddenly were awkward with each other. Ele had asked David to get her pregnant and then walk away. He didn't like it but agreed. Obviousely she got pregnant but then he had to go out on a mission (he was a Seal). They wrote but it was not the same. Imagine his surprise, when Ele an baby Rose show up where he is undercover in Africa. The rest of the story is harrowing and I couldn't put it down. The two of them finally realize what they mean to each other.

I got this story from NetGalley for an honest review

The SEAL’s Baby Deal has so many positive elements of a Katie Knight novel; a fiercely loyal SEAL who is devoted the protection of his country, but resistant to any form of long-term relationship, then throw in a baby and all romance readers are in heaven. But unfortunately, while there were many aspects of this story that I truly did enjoy, Ele was the kind of self-absorbed character that makes me want to scream. While independence is admirable, Ele was oblivious to the potential affects her irresponsible actions would have on the everyone else. I just couldn’t warm to her character and this made this story one of my least favourites by Ms Knight.

So, we have a couple who sign a contract to make a baby, who actually love each other, but are too involved in their own silly drama which escalates when both are tossed together in a volatile African village. I found this story tried my patience. I kept thinking “really?” And “come on...”. Ok, not great, just ok.

Thanks to NetGalley, this is the first book i've read from Katie Knight and Leslie North. While I enjoyed it , there were a few issues that were a bit too drawn out. David and Ele were best friends. Ele broke up with her ex-husband and convinced David to sign a contract to give her a baby without requiring him to have parental rights. In fact, they decided he was not to have any rights at all. Instead of going the IVF route, they decide to have the baby the natural way, spending months together. That, in and of itself, spoke volumes that both David and Ele were too stubborn to be open to listening to.

The first part was really fast. We revisit them about 2 years later. Ele is a wildlife photographer and she (and her daughter Rose) goes to Africa to take photos of a rare butterfly. Serendipitously, David is there too, a SEAL who is trying to make sure that an insurgent's coup is not successful. He tries to protect Ele and Rose while, it seems like Ele does anything but considers the position she is putting her daughter in when she decides to be stubborn and puts herself in danger. This story doesn't really center on all that stuff per say- it's more of a background aspect and David and Ele's relationship takes front and center in tis book but I really disliked the risks she was willing to take regardless of what was best for her daughter. For that, I took away a couple of stars.

Disclaimer - I was given a free digital copy of this book on NetGalley in return for an honest review.

If you’re looking for a heart warming, easy romance then this book is for you. Starting with a bang and then building slowly throughout, the storyline in this book is unique and told from an interesting perspective. I look forward to reading more work by Kate Knight and Leslie North.

This is a light romance read. There is danger and suspense but the main focus of the story is on the personal relationships. This book is perfect for a cold winter day or laying on the beach. I enjoyed reading this book. Thank you to net galley for a copy.

I appreciate that Ele and David are the main focus of this book. Her friend and one of David's team mates play a close second. As always a little more communication is what is missing in David and Ele's relationship. The beautiful African county side that is detailed in this book is phenomenal.
